Season 1

Opening

The MafiaScum StarCraft 2 League (MSSL) will be the first organized StarCraft 2 league with recurring seasons on Mafiascum.net. Season 1 will feature a 16 player pool as well as cash prizes for the top 4 placing players, and a possibility at being casted. Signups will begin on April 18th, and last for two weeks. The league will then begin.

Format

The first season of the MSSL will be a 16 player tournament featuring a round robin pool play phase, and a single elimination bracket phase. Players for the first season will be seeded based on ladder rank and league placement. Should there be more than 16 players signed up, there will be play-in matches for the last 4 spots in the tournament. A maximum of 24 players will be accepted to sign up, and it will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Should there be less, the players will be organized accordingly. Should this situation appear to be arising, the format will be replaced beforehand. With 16 players, the top two from each group will advance into the bracket phase. From there, the single elimination bracket will be played out until a champion is crowned. A match to separate 3rd and 4th place will also be played.

(Groupings will be 1, 8, 9, 16; 2, 7, 10, 15; 3, 6, 11, 14; 4, 5, 12, 13)

The map pool will be the following:

- Terminus RE
- Xel'Naga Caverns
- Metalopolis
- Xel'Naga Fortress
- Scrap Station
- The Shattered Temple

Prizes

The MSSL will feature a $100 prize pool for its inaugural season.

• 1st Place: $50
• 2nd Place: $25
• 3rd Place: $15
• 4th Place: $10

Officiating/Contact

AGar will be the lead official for this tournament. Anyone wishing to volunteer is encouraged to PM me, as I would love to have a team of 3-4 others helping me out with this. Anyone may contact me on AIM @ The1AndOnlyAGar or MSN/GTalk @ Gardner.Alexander.R@gmail.com.

Flameaxe and JDodge have both volunteered their services. I will elaborate more on this in the near future.

Rules

Spoiler: Rules Within

- You must play the race/matchups you choose throughout the entire tournament.
- No abusing of any known bugs or glitches.
- Hacking, cheating, etc etc will get you banned from this, and I will blackball you. I do not tolerate cheating, at all.
- Be respectful. Of other players, streamers, volunteers, admins. I'm not going to be the jerk patrol, but please keep it in line.
- Maps may not be played twice in the same series.
- All games must be played on the maps in the MSSL map pool for that round. No other maps may be used.
- Observers must be agreed upon by both players, unless it is an MSSL official.
- Games will be played on the US server.

Multiple W.Os will result in forfeiture of any prize you will receive, and the money will be rolled into Season 2's prize pool.

- The MSSL officials reserve the right to make any and all rulings on issues not covered explicitly in these rules as the need arises.

Monetarily? It isn't.

But every league, tournament, etc is a boost for e-sports, which is a profit for me in many more ways than just making some quick cash.

I'm in, although this seems like a kind of silly use for money when nobody I know of here except maybe Button is super amazing at the starcrafts.
