Anyways I'm going to read some articles on town play while I wait for the vibes in here to correct.

I like giving early game reads to get out of rvs. This post gives me town vibes. Like, it shows concern with town's cooperation if that makes sense? A light town vibe for sure but a town vibe nonetheless.

I guess I have to be more explicit since this is a Newbie, I haven't played one of these for a long time and reading pages 1 to 5 reminded me that the playstyle here is a bit different.

towwl's first readlist in post 110 seems like town eager to solve the puzzle rather than scum trying to deceit. Seems like a natural readlist, not trying to achieve something like pocketing anyone in that readlist. I'd expect a readlist that early in the game to have at least one or two strong townreads but instead it has slight townleans and slight scumleans which makes sense with so little content so far at that point of the game.

cavalier and aggressive scumhunting that I would expect from townsfolk.

The funny thing about this is, I could go either way with how Delta is trying to position himself this early in the thread with this.

My first impression was that this was LAMIST (or "look at me, I'm so townie" if someone doesn't know the acronym): "I expect town to be aggressive" while being aggressive himself is trying to depict the idea that being aggressive = townie, so Delta must be town because he's being aggressive.

But then I saw Delta and Black's exchange about this topic in particular; Delta being aware that his aggressiveness was something he used to fool Black in another game where he was scum, and I don't think he tries to go for the exact same route and in such an explicit way. "Fool me once" and all that shit.

So yeah, the quote is not Delta trying to position himself as town because "I'm doing what town does", it's Delta saying that he expect town to play the same way he plays as town. That's not the best take in the world, but it's not bad either, and the important take here is that it comes from Delta being town.

Like to be perfectly clear: my biggest scumread is Mafiabat, but the partner is between Delta/Guerilla and I don't care which one of those two is because I correctly identified the rest of town which is the very first thing that y'all should've been doing. towwl did it, mala did it, and they're town for it. Townhunting is the best and most proficient tool to win this game because you get scum cornered and they have to leave their comfort zone to break the town bloc.

When I say I'm being pragmatic is that I'm leaving my own reads behind and dealing with what I think is the best for the game state: Guerilla already claimed VT and the wagon has enough traction to get it done. But if you want me to bark and get my solve pushed then yes, I want Mafiabat limmed and I can get Delta/Guerilla tomorrow. That's the best scenario for me right now because I'm not convinced that Guerilla flips red because of the dichotomy, and I'm inclined to believe that Delta is flailing.

Jason’s D1 EoD was pretty damning in retrospective but I don’t judge you Bulge, you would’ve to know where to look to find the evidence that made Jason the best alternative as Mafiabat’s partner. He constantly derailed the conversation from him when I tried to make a quick lim on him

Bazuf getting limmed on D2 was atrocious.

Credit where credit’s due: Mafiabat and invis’s initial interaction was pretty solid. I townleaned invis only because I was convinced that bat was scum and that they probably weren’t partners together, so even if we got bat limmed on D1, Jason would’ve probably still gotten into ELo

One recommendation: reread what flipped town players were saying before dying. If you’re not convinced about something, maybe one of the dead (who are conftown since they already flipped) had something to say about and you can trust them.

And learn to identify PRs as town. You do have to PR hunt as town too, even better than scum ideally. And if you’re a PR, be subtle. Bazuf was obvPR after his very first post and that’s not good ‘cause scum can do something about that, town can’t other than avoid pushing you during one day.

The only reason I was the D1 kill is because I said that I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to be limmed on D2 after getting Delta limmed and the scumteam probably thought I was softing a PR when in reality I was being cheeky lol why would I soft that I’m a PR during twilight

yea id be more upset if jason hadnt played so well, serious props to him. im just mad i spent the entire game convinced he was scum with little to no support from others and then managed to talk myself out of it at the last minute lol

Town’s hindrances were not limming Mafiabat on D1 and D2 (if everyone’s discussing who Mafiabat’s partner is without flipping Mafiabat before, why the fuck don’t you just lim Mafiabat???) and the quick lim on Bazuf which was great from Mafiabat and awful from the town that let Bazuf be on E-1 with obvscum Mafiabat not on the wagon. He saw the chance and took it, assuming his obvscum status and taking the best out of that situation

I just read the mafia PT and I’m happy to see that Jason did realize that Bazuf was a PR and that my kill was made to generate chaos. Now it feels more like a mafia win than a town lose. GGs to both of you!
