Comments for the newbies (I find I don't have anything to say to any of the ICs besides "you did the best you could with what you were given", really.)

- pretty much did not get a chance to actually play in this game, so there's really not anything I can say to him, either.

- I was actually surprised that nobody thought you were scum on D3, after you'd pushed so hard against Mastin before his claim. I thought for sure that someone would take that as you defending your buddy Kublai, and it's probably the position I'd have pushed in Jeff's position. But for whatever reason, you came off as town to everyone, so you must have been doing something right.
I thought it was funny how you defended both scum; Kublai from Mastin's attacks on D2, then Jeff from Xtoxm's on D3. And good job on eventually hammering Jeff, even if it was just to move the game along. I think that was a perfectly acceptable reason to do so, in the circumstances, and I totally approve.
Mastin
- I think the main reason the town won this game came down to Mastin making a good choice of investigation on N1. Not so much that he hit scum (though obviously, that helped), but that he did not make the dumb choice of investigating Caleb that I think many people would do.
If someone speed-hammers like that on D1, I'd pretty much take it as a given that they'll probably be the eventual lynch the next day. So, if you investigated Caleb and got a guilty, then you've pretty much wasted an investigation confirming something that you'd find out soon enough anyway. Get an innocent, and now you've got to either let someone you know is town get lynched, or defend someone who's been ridiculously scummy, which will probably just result in you having to claim. Now, that's pretty much what did happen anyway, but in this scenario you wouldn't even have a scum target to be lynched instead. Obviously, that's much worse for the town.
Having found himself a guilty, Mastin was in a tough situation for D2. Normally, I'd advocate a cop claiming as soon as they get a guilty (maybe not in a large game, but certainly in a newbie), but with D1 pretty much wasted, the town really needed to get some conversation on D2 to catch the partner, so holding back was the right thing to do. One thing I think you could have done differently is, instead of trying to force everyone to look specifically at kronos/Kublai, you could have just pointed out that focussing entirely on Caleb had the potential to waste the second day almost as much as the first, and ask everyone to make their own decisions about who else was scummy, while explaining why kronos was your choice.
But overall, your method worked well enough, and I have to say, I was truly impressed when you were onto both the scum on

. I've never seen anyone get on completely the right track that quickly before.

- Not a lot to say, your play was pretty solid. You never did anything to make yourself look scummy, which is obviously a good thing. Maybe you were a little lurky, you could do with making more of an effort to get your opinions out there, or ask questions to help form those opinions, but mostly, just keep up the good work.

- I don't know where to start. Obviously, you couldn't help the fact that the guy you replaced did something really dumb, but still, chances are, if you play like you did here, you're going to get lynched. A lot. You need to say who you think is scum, and more importantly, you need to say
why
. Those are pretty much the fundamentals of how the game is played.

- I don't think you screwed up particularly badly, actually. Your main mistake was in not taking a position between Mastin and Kublai on D2 after the claim. As soon as Mastin claimed, Kublai was a dead man walking, and you needed to go right ahead and distance yourself ASAP, really.
I thought your refusal to hammer Xtoxm, especially, was very good play in that situation. It was a risky strategy that didn't pay off, but it definitely had the potential to convince someone that you were town, wheras hammering Xtoxm would never have lead anywhere but your death the next day.
