Jackabomb is obv scumbuddies with Haylen.

He's pullin' out the chainsaw defense.

unvote, vote: Jackabomb
(obv, this is omgus)

And yah, I'm a SE, even though I'm technically experienced enough to be an IC.

I choose to be a SE instead because I lack the confidence necessary to put myself as an IC. Especially when [insert bajillion people here] disparage my play.

Anyway, some general stuff that is useful to know...

For putting links into your post, you can do the following:

Code: Select all

[url= insert link here]whatever you want the linked text to be[/url]

For linking to specific posts, look for the little paper tag in the upper left part of the pose (to the right of the avatar and name), right click it, and click copy link location. You can then paste that into the url spot and voila.

For quoting, it is as follows:

Code: Select all

[quote="whatever you want here"]text text text text[/quote]

Note that you can include the url tag within the quotations to create a link, like the following example
Jackabomb in post 28 wrote: Wow. I didn't even notice dimaba was here. He's the only one I've played with before.
Some useful terminology include OMGUS, WIFOM, and [insert another one that I forget at this time here].

Some other things to remember are that myself, jackabomb, and Yos2 are all
obviously town
fellow players who may or may not be scum.

Although we are here to help introduce you to MS and Mafia, we are still playing to win as well.

That's all for now, folks.

One key note:

It's generally not a good idea to rely upon the wiki tells for the main arguments in any of your posts. Many of the wiki tells are outdated or have (like chainsaw defense) a special requirement for them to work.

It's useful, but don't rely too heavily upon it as "solid facts" or anything.

Some other nice places to go are Mafia Discussion and the threads there

Your attitude regarding the game is serious enough to do well while relaxed enough to not become stressed out over ridiculous things, as far as I can tell.

I've found quite a few of the poorer newbies suffer from extreme seriousness which causes some kind of anxiety disorder or from being too laid back and not doing anything due to not taking it seriously.

umm...I still suffer from that and I've been here 9 months...:( ~ Hayl

Haylen is one of the few players that I've only played with them being scum and actually doing something (I'm not including alternating 9p where you did squat, hayl).

Bloodlust mafia - me maf, her sk (she won against 3 scum with one vig and one VT in play)

Newbie game (forget which) - me town, her mafia (I lynched lurker-town vs lurker-scum in lylo :( )

So it's a running joke between us that haylen is scum.

And it's obviously a joke, Jackabomb.

unvote

vote: tracker

1. Fakeclaiming in his name. ( :P )

2. seems to be attempting to bring support for the LaL[urkers] policy, which is terribly anti-town, since the town gets very little information from a lurker dying (easy mislynch, no connections to other players makes it low info, etc). He obviously knows about prods and replacements, so his support for LaL[urkers] is scummy.

3. He says there is not enough information to scumhunt, yet he does nothing to provide information to aid in scumhunting. Very " well, we can't do our job without information, but I'm not gonna put myself out there *baits somebody else to do so* " type of thing.

I would also like to point out that there not being much conversation means you should be starting some, much like I have.

Nothing to stimulate conversation?

Stimulate it by being insanely aggressive! One of my many tactics.

Reading along here, if you are serious which I'm going to assume you are seeing as we are leaving the RVS behind, why should we lynch tracker so soon, its only been a day in real time, and we have until the 28th to decide, there have hardly been any posts.

Attempting to rally a lynch on such a short amount of time, and information to go on feels quite scummy to me.
It was a joke.

Read Tracker's wiki to get the joke.

It does.

Dimaba stuff I agree with.

Tracker stuff I agree with.

Stuff on me is... :?

Problem with the jokes thing is that both town and scum make jokes, so it's a null tell.

My saying I'll like you as a player doesn't say anything alignment-wise. I've buddied with town as town before. I haven't really buddied as scum, but I don't have much in the way of scum experience (two finished games as scum, lost both times).

Bandwagons aren't scummy, and MD actually shows many that support bandwagons as town or scum (cobalt...). Null tell.

I'm not really sure how you can say that I'm not giving my opinions when I believe it is quite clear that I think tracker is the scummiest player so far (it's a weak tell, but weak is better than nothing).

But yeh, posting reasons is good, since it allows a few things...

1. the rest of the town to see your reasoning

2. the person to defend themselves (though this isn't always a good thing: see being scum/town that makes a bad case and ends up dead for it)

Bandwagons need 3 votes at minimum to be bandwagons, kthx.

re active lurker vs scummy player with some pro-town stuff, it depends upon the strength of the scumtells and the strength of the towntells. If they were highly pro-town with a minor scumtell that popped up only a couple times, I'd lynch the active lurker, etc.

@ Yos2 - I find that lurking is a minor scumtell relative to the ones that I find on active players, would you agree? I also think active lurking is something that is easier to see than inactivity, since a person could've been hospitalized and thus be able to come on, but we wouldn't be able to tell due to them not being on...

So now that you know that Tracker isn't the one that hammered, what is your reason to keep your vote on him in place?

p.s. did anyone else have problems reaching the forums yesterday?
On the former I don't feel a desire to remove my vote just 'cuz he wasn't the person who put the lynched individual at l-1/hammered.

If I find nobody that I suspect more within the next few days, my vote will stay.

If I do, my vote will move.

Tracker didn't say his read of me.

<--- left out :(

Other than that, I don't really like how dimaba responded to Yos2's case.

Feels very... appeal to time span of the day. He uses it as an excuse to not take a stance rather than saying something like... "I hadn't taken a stance because I wanted to solidify my reads, and here they are..." which is what I'd have said is a possible reason.

Appeal to D1 also been refuted by Yos2, savvy?

If you think I'm OMGSUS-voting, then:
1) Why didn't I go after easjo when she voted for me on day 1? In fact, I pretty much ignored it...

2) Why did I attack easjo (who hasn't even voted for me on day 2 and whose only mention of me on day 2 before I voted for her was "Dimaba: Ive been suspicious of all along") and not Yosarian (who actually voted for and attacked me)?
OMGUS is generally the attacking of an individual upon them attacking you, usually hidden behind flimsy reasoning to suspect them.

Yos2 would be a more dangerous attack choice, considering he's been rather townish and he is far more experienced. (thus more liable to crush you in a 1 v 1 battle of arguments), so it'd be logical to choose easjo.

Nah, I think he's town, but I don't have a good target I want to vote atm.

I'm reading along with easjo and dimaba debacle and trying to decide which is the scum, if any.

I'd forgotten my vote was on tracker >.>"

I don't really keep track of my votes... I think I should start doing so.

Gah, I'm on V/LA right when I'm needed most...

don't worry, town, I'll save you all! (also, don't forget the possibility that doc is fakeclaiming scum. Do not take his claim out of hand, but do not assume he is scum either. Analyze it for honesty and such)

Withholding information from the town, bad idea regardless if its incriminating on me, I would like to hear it.

Chronos, I do happen to agree with you not because hes interested in me, I had suspicions on him early on, before you called me on it and got me focused on you.

When i mislynched he just said he really didnt like it and voted me, when he learned I was under suspicion but people wern't ready to lynch me that early he quickly swapped votes to the next most suspicious person.
It's because you are scum.

This is a really nice scum gambit btw.

claim cop with an innocent on chronos (probably town at that) to get the town to lynch somebody else with you being a "deciding force" since people dismiss you as town.

Scum have the most incentive to fake claim right off the bat.

You not only got easjo to claim (if she's really the doc), but you also likely get the possible cop to reveal themselves.

In doing so, you lose 1 guy while taking out the cop and doc.

You could've easily gone on to lynch me if not for the fact your gambit is easy to see through.

These kinds of gambits are likely to come from overeager scum in lylo that want to finish the game quickly. It works if the town is gullible enough to fall for it.

I applaud you for having come up with the idea to do this, but it was the wrong move. Your most likely scum buddy is Yos2, with easjo being second most likely.

LC is unlikely scum due to the fact you called an innocent on him.

Scum is more likely to claim an innocent on a real townie to get one guy that thinks they are town because "hey, cop with an innocent on me! he must be town." Also, claiming an innocent on the dead guy was smooth. Really easy to do that and not run any risks. Adds credibility to the fakeclaim as well.

A real cop is more likely to claim with guilties, but an innocent is less likely due to the fact the information isn't as useful. An innocent has little value unless the person runs the chance of being lynched.

This game is pretty much under wraps with this.

vote: doctor

I'm willing to risk it all on my belief that you are scum, doctor.

Yos2 claiming was what won it.

I have to admit that both Yos and myself thought it was an all vanilla game.

The only PR feelings we had were on doc/LC for the cop.

I also admit that I said to lynch Yos because I knew you guys would not listen to me on that.

I was so obv scum at the end that I had to make it seem like I was going for the doc lynch quite blatantly.

I must say, the town did pretty well overall.

Yos can provide more insight than I can.

And woohoo, first mafia win! :D

If Doc was telling the truth about him being the cop, then there would be a RB, though whether you would flip it or not would be uncertain, so that would've been a decent point.

The problem with the lylo play (lylo is never easy, btw) was you guys went against your gut feelings.

Often enough, your gut will do you better in lylo than your brain.
