That is the stock response, but it 's not always the correct one. There are times where no-lynch is a good idea - for example, an 8-man game with 2 scum - or where the idea is a bit more neutral - like in some end-game scenarios. However, it's a bad idea here.

To elaborate, 4 townies and 2 mafia is what's known as "lynch or lose" - if we lynch town, then overnight another townie dies (unless the doc successfully protects). This is actually worse than a three-town, two-scum situation - as either way we have to lynch scum for the rest of the game, but with fewer players around, we have a better chance of hitting them.

Not totally comfortable with voting a newbie for not knowing that, though.
