That is the stock response, but it 's not always the correct one. There are times where no-lynch is a good idea - for example, an 8-man game with 2 scum - or where the idea is a bit more neutral - like in some end-game scenarios. However, it's a bad idea here.dybeck wrote:Another newbie game... another discussion about no lynch.
Lynching is the only weapon that we have against mafia, and if we fail to use it, they'll pick us off one by one. [/stock response]
To elaborate, 4 townies and 2 mafia is what's known as "lynch or lose" - if we lynch town, then overnight another townie dies (unless the doc successfully protects). This is actually worse than a three-town, two-scum situation - as either way we have to lynch scum for the rest of the game, but with fewer players around, we have a better chance of hitting them.dybeck wrote:DS... In a game with this setup a 'no lynch' is generally accepted to be a bad idea. To vote 'no lynch' means that we wake up tomorrow in the same situation with only 4 townspeople and 2 mafia, which leaves us worse off than today.
Not totally comfortable with voting a newbie for not knowing that, though.
