Everyone remembers kickball, right? You line up against a fence and then the team captains take turns picking everyone who is better at sports than you and you wait with a sinking feeling to see if you're the sad loser who doesn't get chosen. That's a universal experience, right?

Also, I think there might have been something about kicking.

Nightstart

There is no factional nightkill. Each night, a player is assigned to the red team by the mafia. Then a player is assigned to the blue team by the mafia. A player may not be assigned to more than one team at a time. If at any point in time, there is only one player who is not assigned to a team, they are immediately sent off in shame to cry about being bad at sports. All teams are disbanded when this happens.

Each day phase, players may vote on a player to get rid of for being unfairly good. Players may not vote for a player on the same team as they are. If a player is voted by a majority of the living players, they will be escorted to the edge of the field and promptly ejected from the play area because no one wants to play with them.

Town wins if all of the mafia have been removed from the game, at which point recess is over and you all have to go study geography and learn about rocks or something.
Mafia wins if they control half of the votes at any point, or if nothing can prevent that from occurring, at which point recess is over and you all have to go study algebra and learn about seaweed or something.

Oh I mean in practice I’m sure Singles is sometimes situationally the right choice! I’m not saying it’s broken or anything. I just like trying to figure out what good strategies there might be

I think singles is actually the right choice for town in tennis in all cases except the rare corner case when multiple scum are still alive in an ELO where scum have not used their NK yet. The reason for this being that unless the scum team can end the game with the nk, town will always have the opportunity to reevaluate and make the decision again with the flip as additional knowledge. It's like how DD Nightless is slightly more scumsided than regular nightless.

Are there two eliminations per day, each decided by the opposite team and resolving simultaneously? Otherwise, eliminations would be impossible. Though, this would make the game not have a nightkill after Night 0.

Only two players are added to teams each night, so there are unteamed players who may vote anyone. Also, the team selections happen sequentially, so if a player is chosen for red team and then there is a single player left, they die and the teams are disbanded before blue team picks a player.

For golden goal, is the nightkill forced to be on town? Otherwise the setup becomes a hard 2/n EV lim on D4 where the previous 3 days just don't matter very much and n is the number of unconfirmed townies, which seems kind of not fun. Either way, the setup probably benefits from having fewer townies and making the conftown BP, as even if you correctly get three town lims in a row you have a less than 50% EV final lim just by virtue of needing to have fewer scum than town.

2 Mafia Sports(Skill level is random from 1-4)

7 Town Sports (Skill level is random from 1-5. Cannot have more than one 5.)

• Sports have a skill level, randomly from 1-5. There will be one 5 amongst the Town Sports, and no other 5s in the game.
  
• Each night, Sports can do two of three things:
  • Self-Scout
    a player to send them your skill rating privately. First action reveals a three number range, second reveals exact number.
    
  • Train
    to level up your skill. If on the losing team, gain +2-3. If on the winning team, gain +1-2. Cannot go above 10.
    
  • Neighborize
    a player of their choosing.
    
  • Mafia Only:
    Kill
    a target player.
• During the Day, players vote for the leader of the "Town" team.
  
• Once someone is elected by majority, the team draft begins. All players must cease discussion and the draft occurs over private messages.
  
• The draft must always end with the Town picking between two players. Other than that it alternates. For example, Day 1 starts with Mafia with picks 6 and 7 also being Mafia's to let Town have the 8th.
  
• The last unpicked player is eliminated and flipped.
  
• Once they die, they may name two players on the losing team. If at least one Mafia is among those players, the Mod will post it publicly. Otherwise, the Mod will not post it.
  
• In ELO or MELO, Mafia must allow one of themselves to be in the final two if able. If a Mafia is elected Town leader is ELO or MELO, the game ends in a Mafia Victory.
  
• The skill of each team is announced, and Mafia may only kill from the team with the lower number. If there is a tie, the Mafia can pick anyone.
  
• This all repeats until Mafia is eliminated or Mafia equals Town.

If a second neighborize resolves, does it add a player to an established neighborhood or does it make a new neighborhood?

In the case of non collapsing neighborhoods there's probably a strategy around forcing neighborize and train to prevent maf from killing effectively.

Yeah, definitely fixes the leashing thing. Or just have the factional kill specifically be a one mafia gets it as a free action per cycle, not linked to the other actions.

I sent a PM to relly and he hasn't opened it. For now let's just assume ranked choice since any other system should be able to adapt that into a usable vote pattern.
