Nth Mastin for his article on cop gameplay.

I was the town cop in that game which spurred the MD discussion, and I would consider Mastin's original post (and subsequent MD post) the equivalent of a quantum leap forward from the game theory I (and I suspect many other cops, especially new-ish ones) had been using earlier in the game (which was, basically, investigate a hard-to-read player, but with no thought as to LyLo competence, or even durability to make it to LyLo to begin with). Even though some more experienced players might say, "well, yeah," I've looked at enough games with sub-optimal cop play to see that Mastin's contribution was a needed one.

Nominate Barry Allen for Best Performance by 3rd Party
in Mini 1126: http://mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16416

I wasn't a player in the game--just an amused observer--but I thought Barry did a great job at not only avoiding substantial suspicion throughout the game, but in getting some of his mafia rivals killed as well, which I think is one of the most important skills for an SK, since they are basically a one-man mafia faction in a functionally multi-faction scumgame. I also would like to say that this is a marked improvement from his play in the Newbie game we played together earlier in the year, which was (I believe) the first game for both of us at MS. Even if he doesn't win the Scummie, I think he deserves recognition for being a relatively new player thrown into a game with some experienced scummers and coming out with a tie in what is probably the most difficult role to win with.

For scum-aligned PRs, town-aligned PRs, or both?

I'm not against the idea per se, just trying to see what it'd look like.

Or, put differently, do we give one award for town PR play and one for scum PR play, or just one regardless of alignment?

Edit: The reason I ask is because I think that town PR play is considerably more difficult than scum PR play given that you generally don't have buddies to bounce ideas for targets off of and are generally at a significant knowledge disadvantage anyways.

nominate myself for best replacement

I replace DK in lylo with him most likely to be lynched, during my re-read I catch both scum and town wins.

Bit of friendly advice, Beck--posts like these will endear you to very few people on these boards. Self nomming for your performance in a newbie game? Please flip through a few of Setael's games and tell me why you deserve the best replacement scummy more than she does. I'm really eager to hear your reasons.

Also,
2nd chkflip for best 3rd party.
3rd party wins are tough enough, but when you pull it off in a large game where you had to replace into a shaky playslot, that takes some chops.
