Judging was still ongoing, and writing was LOL NO. We were brainstorming stalling tactics.

We may have taken it a

Not sure if it's Best Role-worthy, but I would love to see the role that did this before it.

It wouldn't surprise me if Xyl's chat did it. It sounds like one of those Goo roles.

Go ahead and check.

Nominate the Tigers of Otters vs. Tigers vs. Sharks for Best Scum Group.

Sadly, most of the game was lost in the crash. However the scum, particularly DGB, were brilliant. An early bus sacrificed Guy_Named_Riggs, a risky play, but it paid off. DGB was ubertown to the max, I was the only townie who suspected her, and I thought she was Shark scum due to the aforementioned GNR bus. Matias/Quilford was the perfect counterpart, playing off DGB's signals.

In short, this was a team that REALLY knew what they were doing. The game was won as soon as GNR was lynched. They took near-complete control of the town and manipulated events beautifully. I'm sure many of us who played in it are feeling a little bit sore, but give credit where credit is due: the Tigers kicked ass.

What's left of the game: http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21228

The Tigers really stuck it out in what they thought were terrible odds. For the record, the team was Guy_Named_Riggs, lynched Day 1, DrippingGoofball, and Quilford (who replaced Matias), both of whom lived until endgame.

3rd
. I feel like I read the whole game somewhere, though I might be crazy. At any rate I definitely read the endy bit there.

*cracks knuckles*

Izak, you unleashed a monster.

First off, I'd like to
Second Paranoia Mafia for Most enjoyable
because how was that not done ever? Definitely the most fun I've ever had playing Mafia and I really hope it wasn't lost to the crash.

Now, on to what I'm really here for.
I nominate the following games for Outstanding Mish Mash Game
.

  1. Planet MafiaScum, moderated by izakthegoomba

This was an open-ended game the likes of which we're never going to see again (until the sequel). First of its kind, players took control of countries, and did...well, basically, whatever the fuck they wanted. The game lasted for over a year and would still be going today if not for the Rollback. The truly impressive thing about it is that everything behind the scenes was controlled and regulated. izak wasn't making shit up as he went, there were formulas, tables and other smartness to actually simulate things, which is just mind-boggling.

  2. Survivor: Seafoam Islands, moderated by kloud1516 and animorpherv1

First off, I won, which should automatically give it the award. Aside from that, this game is an example of everything we strive for in Mish Mash with the larger games. It was fun, well-paced, had originality and even drama. This is a game that the players still remember and talk about to this day, and while it may not be the most "innovative" on my list, it's certainly a solid example of what Mish Mash should be about.

  3. SPITFLY, moderated by mykonian

SPITFLY stands for Second Place Is First Loser, Y'All. It was an innovative voting game where players had to balance campaigning for votes with not succeeding...just go read it okay? At least the premise. Anyway, it did have a sequel but sequels are lame. In terms of adding innovation to a classic voting game, this one is right up there. Not a huge game, not a lot of mod effort, just a fun game.

  4. The Agenda, moderated by Blackberry

For all the smack I talk on Blackberry, he has some great ideas...when they finish. Anyway, the Agenda is another voting game, but each player was given two other players they had to eliminate to win. An interesting concept, and spawned four sequels (the last of which never finished). Again, a fun game and an excellent variation on a classic theme.

  5. SurvivorBots, moderated by Blackberry

Another excellent Blackberry game, this took the classic elements of Survivor and challenged players to submit a program to outwit the others. While it looks complicated at first, it's really not all that difficult, and generated so much interest that two games were run simultaneously. Had the sequel gotten off the ground, it could have been an excellent standby, but definitely an innovative game concept and something that should be recognized.

Alright I'm done now, carry on.

Started May 2011, finished April (?) 2012. izak's guidelines say anything that finished this year is allowed.

1) By "judges," I assume he just meant those separate ones judging that category.
2) I assume that he's saying it has a sequel because it was popular, therefore it was a good game.

That said, I disagree with most of Xalxe's nominations. I actually think this year was fairly tame in terms of amazing new games.

I actually had two more on my list that I cut because I felt these were better.
