Good post -- I agree. If this award is encouraging you-know-who (and I think it might be) then the sooner it is abolished, the better. I would support any award for prolific replacer: perhaps as a more general "Services to the Site" award.
hmm, i dont think an award for replacing makes sense in tha context. Whilst having people to replace into your game is obviously good, its probably better to have those active people in your game to start with. But i agree that the prolific player award should probably go.
But it's usually less desirable to replace into a game than start it new. That's the point of recognizing players who replace.

I don't know about Ibby (only game I was in with her, that I recall, and where she wasn't replaced, she was killed N1), but usually you'd expect a good protown player to die early.

You might be able to get good at surviving to endgame, but that's not the point of the game.

Flay, you should interpret my second paragraph generally, not in reference to good players only.

I am trying to agree with whoever CEScum is that by and large surviving to endgame isn't inherently impressive.

Additionally, if we get rid of this award then they weren't that lucky after all. Two birds with one stone.

I came up with AitP, Crush, and (if Crush doesn't impress you) Vengeful.

Nominate Rosso Carne for Best Town Performance in Kingmaker 2, for finding all the scum in it.

I think for a jester to be interesting, it needs to be open setup, and there should be something more difficult about the task than just "get lynched anytime anywhere." There should probably be a vig in the setup.

I agree that jesters undermine the ability to assume that everybody is trying to look town, and that this isn't a good thing. But perhaps the role can be made interesting enough to balance this.

I am skeptical that an "uncovered" jester would be lynched just to get him out of the way... Unless there were a lot of scum on the wagon...

Actually I think that's an ok role. You have incentive to act like town rather than like scum. You actually have incentive to make scum fear you as much as possible.

As a cheap way to win I can imagine this role trying to fake claim power roles. But this could backfire if they get doc protection, or are counterclaimed.

A nice thing is that even if the scum learn what your role is, it doesn't change anyone's incentives (unless the game ends when you're nked, of course).

Is there some kind of "good effort (not in a game)" award I can nominate AniX for?

I must decline the nomination for Best Setup with respect to Crush Nightless. I'll take the other one though.
