Since people have their role PM's, pregame chat is just starting the game before it's supposed to be started. There's no way to prevent people playing for real in pregame, nor can it even really be said that anything in pregame isn't playing for real.

So you're just starting the game early. Well, that means that by definition you're starting before enough people are ready, which is going to cause a disorganized staggered start that's going to decrease the amount of interaction in the (very important) early pages, and the lack of voting means that by the time RVS is possible it may not be RVS, completely short-circuiting that phase. It makes the game start slow and uneventful, rather than exciting and something to be looked forward to.

All for what? So the players can chat? We have GD for that.
It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning... SIT DOWN AND TALK!
