Welcome to the Library of Atypical Factions thread. This is a role list quite like Grand Idea Mafia and the Deck of Astral Roles. Unlike those two threads, standard factions other than
Town
will not be allowed, as defined below.
Town
is needed for a game to function properly, so it will be allowed.

The Library of Atypical Factions game is a custom Grandest Idea Mafia (Greatest Idea Mafia rules, but with a Grand Idea Mafia esque deck) with only non-standard groupscum and third parties. There will be 1000 roles in this thread. This can be used with the Deck of Astral Roles for an Astral Multiverse game.

Groupscum with only a X-shot factional kill and a random factional invention (
Deck of Astral Roles Alien

Third-party scum with only a factional kill (

Third-party that needs to survive to win (
Survivor

Third-party that needs to be eliminated to win (

I am willing to relax this.

Ideally you should list the alignment / role split in your posts. This is being used for a game where the alignment / role split is vital.

I ideally want a
Town
majority (at least 501 townies) in this deck to avoid problems with having a
Town
majority in LoAF games. There are currently 41 to my knowledge.

I recommend having no more than 40 alignment changing roles. There are currently 5 to my knowledge.

result if this isn't the case.

Town, Survivor, Jester, Unjester, and Condemner are examples of Innocent results.
Groupscum (e.g. Mafia), Cult, and Serial Killer are examples of Guilty results.


Mod Note: Was Nowt Unorthoscumfinder (gets inno if Nowt-compatible and Guilty if not), refactored in an effort to ensure Town majority.

INFERNAL BLADE: {player}
(the text must be set apart from normal text, usually with bold) to immediately have that player eliminated. If they are groupscum-aligned, you gain a 1-shot Dark Demon invention. (Anyone investigating you that Night will receive a message saying that you are a frightening and evil Dark Demon. You may cloak someone in darkness. They will be roleblocked, and will receive frightening visions of a random night action targeting them the next Night (if they weren't targeted the next Night, they will receive frightening visions of demons).).




Dark Creatures are meant to frighten you.

Reroll this role but not alignment if you aren't playing a setup where you choose alignment and role cards independently.

Things that affect other people's alignments. Underdog is not a conversion role.

If you are charged with a mysterious energy, you may attempt to kill a player and gain a random invention (rolled from the mod's deck of choice until you get an active ability). You will no longer be charged with a mysterious energy after this.




Mod Discretions will also help, and also provide a buffer to small scumteams.
