Balancing nightstart setups

There are a lot of setups from mafia.gg and EpicMafia that are very fun to play and that I could see being interesting when played on MS, but a lot of them are nightstart. How does one go about balancing these setups while making sure that the setups are still fun to play and retain the spirit of the original setup?
