Intro
"I know this town doesn't have the best reputation, but I think there's a way to solve this. It seems that we have a problem with the mafia here," said smashbro_of_the_SSS. He was the new guy in town, and had only come a few days earlier. He came because of what he heard of this place, that there had been many deaths as of late, which had gone unexplained. The only 12 townies who had nothing more to do than attend the meeting in town square listened impatiently, wanting to get back to their lives.
One member of the crowd called out, "But those deaths were reported as accients. The TV said so!"
smashbro knew this would come up. "A man hung by an electrical cord in his appartment, known as a traitor to the mafia? Two cops found in a house, dead from poison, reportedly from a "medusa spider" which doesn't even live in this climate? A man downed in bacon in his own bathtub? I don't think these are coincidences. What we need to do is start a Night Watch system, where we take turns keeping guard and looking out for the Mafia."
"No one cares!" another yelled.
"Two of you already signed up though! Reveal yourselves, maybe more people will join."[/i] The crowd was silent.
"This isn't elementary school, you won't be shunned by the 'cool' kids." Still, no one.
"Fine. Do nothing. I'm leaving this place tomorrow, and it'll get worse. There'll still be the mafia here. They'll come and kill you all. It's not worth sticking around this palce." He sat down in the middle of the square, crossing his arms. A minute went by.
"Then go get packed," someone called from the crowd.
"You're lying to yourselves. You all came here. You care about this town. You'll be back." One by one, those attending decided to leave.
It was 3 AM, and smashbro still hadn't gotten to packing, even through he did bring some items from his house ouside. Via extention cord, a lamp gave him enough light to read by, as he listened for any noises. He finally heard footsteps coming from three different directions, and jumped up, ready to defend himself. However, he found three guns pointed at his face, as the three gave him enough time to let the information sink in.
"So. It'll be you then. At least you'll die knowing i was right." But despite his false bravado, smashbro could not defend himself in time, as three gunshots rang out.
Everyone who had attended the meeting on the previous day knew that smashbro had kept night watch, and decided to check on him the next day. They had expected to see him tired but alive. However, he was found desperately holding onto his lampshade, eyes vacant. On the ground below him his blood ran, which had been used to write a message.
"It's time we take this town for good. Any attempts to stop us will fail. The mafia will rule this town." After that, it seemed as through the mafia had wanted to write more, but ran out of blood for the message. An empty bottle of Ketchup lay next to the last sentence. "P.S. the bacon man was not our fault."
"Holy…."
"He was right."
"So…what do we do?" After searching the body, they find that smashbro had thought ahead. A note suggested lynching people during the day, who were suspected of being in the mafia.
"But…this is a large town. It could be anyone!"
"No," replied one intelligent townie. "Did you see the note? They knew to kill smashbro, and that he talked about the man who drowned in bacon. The three gunshots mean that there are 3 mafia members standing among us now."
Everyone stared in amazement at how the townie had figured this out. "So what do we do now?" one asked.
"We should wait for tomorrow. Today, we need to clean up this mess. Maybe we'll figure it out tonight. Besides, we need to hang this lampshade somewhere useful," suggested the avid troper. Err…trooper.
And so they set at it. Soon, the town square was ready for hanging, and the 12 decided to return home, and try to get a good night's sleep. Yeah. Like that would happen.
