i'm not sure this is the most reliable tell. i think most people tend to be a little nervous while playing scum, but would also want to hide the fact that they're nervous.

As town the notions would be unified, as scum they'd be separated into steps. I don't actually have an elegant explanation why, I'm just remembering my own town and scum thought processes when I deal with getting pushed. I feel like no one has engaged my core reason for calling Datisi scum, but also no one has like, done the opposite and said "this is a townpost", which if you truly do not think there are signs of artificiality in that post, it absolutely should be. You can't all be scum, with or without Datisi, for being handwavy in the aggregate but I don't get it ughhhh. For me, I never really scumread ben, implo has always been more scummy to me, I though schiavetto had some convincing reasons to SR implo in 1805 and a decent amount of people have expressed support for the wagon. The best reason to scumread s_s here is that I found the replace out scummy, and perhaps the fact that you SR him too. I think it's somewhat believable that he'd call NM's vote on him immediately after replacing scummy, though I disagree with the logic there.

one thing I hate is that the rules for setup construction don't let you like, -feel- how likely each subsetup is, i can read these rules and then press the button and get 4 K's and you could be like "is that a remarkable result?" and I'd say "I don't fucking know, I've never never internalized 10%*(seven choose 4) before", if it's a setup drawing balls from urns or throwing dice or drawing cards to generate I can feel it because I do those things and they're shorthand

It's kinda meh? My vote on implo was 90% intuition and I kinda figured other people's votes were the same. I wouldn't really expect someone who didn't share the same feeling to "see it" per se. In most towngames of mine, I have reads like that, and generally people just ignore me (and I can't blame them). You articulated some of what I was feeling pretty well, but I still wouldn't expect it to convince someone who wasn't pinged by implo to begin with. I’ve played with scum datisi twice. Once as a scum buddy and once as town. There was a definite improvement and he had me snowed pretty solid when I drew town. That in conjunction with what ico has said about datisi having a massive scum growth lately isn’t helping my paranoia. But I’m not sure it’s not just me being me.

skitter didn't tell the mod right away about her V/LA in Mini 2113 as town, but did so in Newbie 1951 as scum and did so in Silent Star 3 as scum. I'm sure further citations will dilute this pattern but even with a weak pattern, it feels significant when this is a game where she's in a hydra and she knows it matters less. It's also somewhat less town-hydra-y to opt for shouting that out to the mod right away versus consulting with Menalque to ascertain how necessary it is or isn't, since as town it's a shared responsibility to solve the game and as scum the posting pattern is more of a visible lifestyle or that's a bad metaphor I was trying to think of a better one.

a good portion but not all. my problem here is that you seem to have decided that you want to push ico today and are working backwards to justify your "read" on them. "but ico was the first to attack shirou", "scum can probably find good reasons to attack partners" like the problem here is (1) it still sounded so genuine and (2) it doesn't even try to explain WHY would ico have to do that? like neither of him nor shirou were being scumread, and doing random theatre like that that can easily end in one of them getting scumread is risky and unnecessary, *especially* if the scumteam cannot talk to each other and plan it

There are lots of reasons to do theater like that, it's difficult to speculate as the uninformed faction. The first thing that comes to mind is that people started to suspect sechyd for being "forgettable"
