Just to pop over to the side for a second since I'm very much going to be focusing on Flavor Leaf for a little bit, the logic is essentially that in a game where it is known that the mafia have a cop, it is likely that the mafia will use that cop to try and find a traitor.
The existence of a miller in a setup with a mafia cop could result in some very very funny shenanigans where the mafia believe they have found a traitor when they have in fact found a miller

This game reminds me of my first game. I try to save someone I think is town and get voted for it. I don't see the scum motivation in it. As scum if bulge is town I just let the hammer happen without saying anything. As scum there is no motivation to try and save my partner at that point since when they are revealed as scum I'd be suspicious and would only do worse for my team.

I've played with town Drew before and at the start of the game he looked similar to what I've seen before, so I wrote him off as town. But I don't like his reasoning for his reads lately. Meaning your partner is a slot that is rather universally townread and outside of the radar..or perhaps a slot that has claimed a vague "will be cleared tomorrow PR"?
There are scenarios here where scum!HuTao might go for the extra sauce on their towncred after those posts from Bulge at L-1.
I'm not as sold on the theory of you being teammates with Bulge, but that is the outlying possibility, and would be a more "simple reason" for your reaction.
