Lynches

Deadline
: Each day will be deadlined to :arrow: 3 weeks, depending on my real life issues (no extensions planned). If we reach a deadline without a lynch the player (or No Lynch) with the most votes will be lynched. In the case of a tie, the one who got to that number of votes first will be lynched.
Exception:
In a lynch-or-loose situation the votes needed are NOT reduced. Should there be no active votes at deadline no one will be lynched.

Thanks to all participants and congratulations to the scum team! This game went on fairly well even though it suffered from a lot of replacements in the beginning. In the beginning I was fairly sure the town was on the right trail and would win this, but nopoint managed to fool everyone in the end. Well done. I am curious as to how you all thought the nomination worked out. I was kind of guessing there would be a lot of more discussion as to who voted whom and also expecting something similar to a doc gambit where the entire village agreed upon say three very townlike players to focus all their nomintations at to either dare the scums to fail killing one of those or having to settle for a less attractive target.

I'm enjoying modding these games and I want to create a format for the opening post that is useful the entire game through. Now I'm wondering if you are using it in the first place and if you, in that case, miss any information there.

I think the votecount edited in at the top of each page is working well, but do you feel it is too seldom?

Yes I know people do iso the mod sometimes, but I thought that a vc at the top of every page would make it easy to just follow the game pages and see how wagons are built. Perhaps people in general prefer the vote counts as mod posts instead?

Ahh, the mountainous issue :) There was a lot of speculation about this at one point in this game. I know I called it mountainous in the sign up thread, but there I linked it to this post in the Open Setup and Ideas-thread where I talk about having 3 scums (and that link was also the one at my wiki page, which was in my signature all through the game). I was surprised that people in this game went to lengths checking my post in the sign up thread where I call it mountainous but from there don't follow the link to open setup and ideas.

Sure, I could have done that. I normally stay close to a certain flavor, but in this game I was actually more thinking of the role "bullet proof" than the flavor. But I could've made that clearer. I don't want town to be knowledgeable if there actually was a kill attempt or not, though.

Good call, I'll do that if I run a similar game (which I definitely is considering, I think the setup was pretty balanced and intriguing with new possible gambits/play styles from both sides). However, in this game scum tried to kill each night but weren't succesful due to correct nominations twice.

I think its a double-edged sword. While it can be intimidating to scum, as Nopoint has argued, I think scum can also use it to the detriment of the town, which Nopoint did also. The inherent assumption with nominations is that the most pro-town player is going to get immunity. I think the town benefits more from using their power, and even more so since it is a power known to all but only useful if town works together. This really forces town to cooperate. And as a scum trying to bus your pals you're going to have a hard time bussing them unless they actually screws up in some way. And this is what mafia boils down to: scum will try to act win, and therefore their patterns will stand out some way or another. Doing what you suggests might work just as often as it might fail, all depending on situations and players.
