Vote: Midnight's Sorrow

Sorrow at midnight = night killer = scumface. Bezukhov is buddy for conveniently timed V/LA. GG everybody, afterparty at my place. BYOB.

Vote: ICEninja

Written somewhat stream-of-consciousness as I read:

Not liking ICEninja. Overly aggressive coming out of RVS, which I would normally associate with Town, but the focus on Retro doesn't look like scumhunting; it looks like targeting. Considering that Retro and I are the only ones who've played with Ice before, and I only once, he may be making a first strike against his biggest meta threat. Post 19 especially seems too contrived, and supports my impression that he's looking to negate a threat.
Really
don't like him pushing Reg as Retro's buddy in 42. Entirely too convenient that his RVS joke post lines up with his one-page-later "serious" post.

^That makes Retro probably Town, though both are experienced and savvy enough to play with a double bus. Retro's defense in 31 is Towny.

Bionic is
probably Town. Thinks along somewhat similar lines as I did concerning Ice/Retro, though with a different conclusion. Spots the subtle scumminess of Triangle without knowing the background of her noobishness.
Really, really not liking Bionic's reaction in 39. Back to neutral with you.

Triangle is wrong about Retro, and wrong for stupid, sheepy reasons. Forgiven because she's a newbie. Her waffling is likewise not very reliable as a tell.

I like Birthday, need more content to get a solid read.

I can never read Regfan, not gonna try yet.

What part of stream-of-consciousness confused you, Ice? Yes, you later accused Regfan in a serious context and passingly mentioned Triangle. However, your content against Retro completely dwarfs what you've said against Regfan, Triangle, and everyone else combined. That's targeting.

lol, he's on V/LA, dude.

I read the above as realizing he'd stuck his neck out too far and doing damage control. He clearly read the confirm post where Bezukhov declared V/LA, as he references it, so he's setting Bezukhov as a strawman target that he can safely divert attention to, then go "oh yeah, V/LA, never mind."

Really not liking Triangle's sudden and shameless sheeping.

I think Ice is bussing now. Amping up on his tertiary target when the pressure heats up on him...yeah. Bussing. By both of them, maybe.

lolwhut? I'm not setting up lynches. No one but you is a solidly scummy lynch candidate yet.

Hyper aggression is Towny when it's spread around and appears paranoia-driven. You picked out specific targets and threw the book at them. The vibe is completely different. PE: Antagonizing the V/LA really doesn't look good for you either.

This push on Ice is starting to feel a little too easy. Sounds like there's no real dissent, and that just feels like scum going along happily with a Town-driven mislynch.

Actually, I replaced out of all of those games at the same time. Check my signature. Curious that you chose three scum games that are poor examples of my scumplay. Donner Party I replaced into Endgame as SK (and won). That was more about playing my opponents than playing the game. NY141 I replaced in near endgame with a gamebreaking Town strategy, no way I could talk my way out of it no matter how much I tried. Set's Speed Mafia was just before my site-flake, and my lurking was not intentional.

I did this a few days ago for another game, removed the game-specific stuff:
In post 2198, Pine wrote:These are all of the completed scum games I could find. I might be missing one or two, it was a quick skim through old bookmarks.

There Will Be Bloodshed - My first scum game on-site. Made some early mistakes, but recovered with the help of an airtight confirmed Town read from Mastin (that's what caused him to retire the original Mastin name in favor of Mastin2). Won with a perfect scum victory. My favorite completed scum game to date.
The Call of Cutthulhufish - Small scumteam with C-Worl, we lost to a Serial Killer in endgame. Lots of fun, rivals TWBB.
NY 130: Mirror Mafia - Mirrored scumteams. Mine dominated the game, though I got crosskilled before endgame. Good example of one of my favorite scum tactics, the Town Leader.
NY 131: Tricycle Mafia - nhammen and I bussed the baggage on our team early and dominated the rest of the game. A more subtle strategy of mine.
Mini 1137 - I made a big mistake early on and got drilled for it. Luckily, Faraday replaced my lurky partner and pwned to victory.
Mini 1156 - Another early game where I made a mistake early on and was unable to recover from it. This may be my worst performance as scum.
Set's Speed Mafia - Only survivor and winner. Not really representative of my scum acumen, as it went blindingly fast when I really ought to have been on V/LA, and it was dominated by spammy fuckers like Beck. Still, I managed to parlay my legit lurkiness into a win.
Nintendo Mafia - I replaced into Espeonage's scummy slot with an active cop guilty on me. I went down fast, but came
really
close to getting the cop lynched first.
Communications Breakdown - I replaced into Espeonage's scummy slot with an active cop guilty on me. No, I didn't just copy/paste, it happened AGAIN. Went down fast, atypical nature of the game made it hard to even defend myself as I didn't know another chat room had a claimed cop with said guilty.

Planet of Hats - Hydra'd with Mastin as Palisade. We gave a reasonable Serial Killer performance, but I ended up summer-flaking part way through and Mastin got caught eventually.
Open 340: The Donner Party - Serial Killer WIN. Replaced in, carried the slot to a bloody finish.

Ehhh...it's the way my mind and my free time works. I have a lot of free time in small quantities. Sometimes I devote that free time to an individual game, resulting in those good posts. Others, I respond to the nonsense and just keep up until the next time I'm devoting my full attention. I play a lot of parallel games and have a lot going on in my life.

My sources tell me that Retro has just come back from a long hiatus, but was respected enough before that (by people I respect) to suggest he is pretty experienced. My gut says that that hiatus may have been spent on an alt here on the site, but that's pure speculation.

I seriously think that if Birthday doesn't claim in the next few hours, regardless of what implosion wants to do, we should hammer. Implosion is totally letting Birthday off the hook here and (possibly intentionally, possibly unintentionally) helping him stall.

If implosion gets what he needs to on the table by tonight then great, but if not then I need to see a claim or a hammer.

No. If BB does not claim in his next post, then I intend to hammer BB no matter what implosion has to say. I am, however, willing to wait for implosion for a reasonable amount of time. I've seen people in the position of having someone hammered after asking for more time, and then gotten NKed and the information lost.

Obviously, if I intend to wait for Implosion, I'll be waiting for Regfan as well.

I am skeptical of the nurse claim. Backup roles do not enjoy the same value as true PRs in my mind, so BB's evasion and how safe a nurse claim is reinforce the opinion that BB was looking for a role strong enough to perhaps save him, weak enough to explain further survival, and obscure enough not to be CC'd. Anyone else have thoughts on this? I'm still thinking I'm going to hammer.

No idea where you're getting that from. If you flip Town, I'll be going back to read your posts and giving them extra credence. I've simply made my decision and have no intention to change it barring a very good reason. If you are what you claim, please compose a condensed list of final reads. If you're scum, your best bet right now is to hammer yourself and deny us Imp/Reg the opportunity for input.

As far as I'm concerned, you're desperate to throw someone, anyone off of your wagon right now. Which is fine, just don't expect it to work. And relax. If you're scum, you've played a decent game and I don't see any obvious ties to your buddy. If you're Town, we'll likely be able to find one of the scumteam from analyzing how your wagon formed.

Why did you tell her to do that? She was pretty much a guaranteed lynch and now we can't hear whatever it was that Implosion and Reg wanted to say.

It was actually a bit sarcastic. It resulted in scum hammering themselves, what are you complaining about? We've only got one scum left to kill, and 6 Town left. We can mostly relax, lynch some doodz, and enjoy ourselves.

Vote: Bionic

I have solid Townreads on Regfan, Retro, and Triangle. I'm figuring we autolynch Bionic, Implosion, and Bez, and enjoy our Town victory.

Yeah...read 398 again folks. That's downright scummy. Begging for Townpoints.

With Imp and Bez being left alone for now, Bionic it is. This is today's lynch, go fuck yourself if you think otherwise.

And before anyone says "Godfather," it would be a terrible role with only a 1-shot cop. I'm still suspicious of Implosion, as faking a 1-shot innocent is easy. But I digress.

My bad, Watcher; still, you were talking about investigative roles. Both Watcher and 1-shot cop are weak investigators. Pretty unlikely fo them to be together in a 9-player game.

Bullshit. Doesn't prove anything. 1-shot cop that claims a guilty on their only buddy, who is already going down in flames is like, the perfect scum gambit. Costs you nothing, free confTown status.

Ask yourself why ImpTown would waste his shot on someone about to be lynched anyway. BB may have been unaware of this gambit, they didn't have long, if anything, pregame and I don't think the rules gave daytalk.

"against any form of meta he has shown in the past"

Not really. Just a bit different from what you've played against. My meta is very fluid, and shifts with my mood, who I'm playing with, what I had for breakfast, and the current sign of the zodiac. I've done lazy-Town, aggressive-Town, intense-Town, suspicious-Town, tunneling-Town, and trusting-Town. You need to stop thinking you have me figured out, Mastin doesn't even have that.

Fishing for reactions, primarily. When I don't have confidence, I feign confidence and look for leads.

Besides, we can more or less random lynch for a day or two and be fine.

I was actually trying to just make a point. I don't really think it matters who we lynch. Remaining scum has to survive three lynches, each with increasing chance they get caught. Forgot about your claim or Implosion's while I was making my point.

Pine, Retro & Bez*: Confirmed Town

Bionic, Implosion, Regfan, Triangle: Not confirmed Town. We have three lynches at our disposal. The odds of us fucking up are pretty small. Lynch away.

Hmm. Actually, I'm looking over Regfan's list again, and noticing that he has Bezukhov down near neutral, only one notch above me. Bezukhov is confirmed Town. Why the hell would he have him down there if not to throw suspicion where there should be none?

I could support a Regfan lynch.

Implosion claimed a cop innocent on him. Either Implosion is our one remaining scum, in which case Bez is innocent, or Implosion is telling the truth and Bez is innocent that way. That is all that actually matters in the end.

I don't mind taking one for the team if I have to, but I will not let you perpetuate a falsifiable case against Confirmed Town.
