From my point of view, Churros, Titus, and myself are town. That leaves two scum in a group of four players: EP, Eyestott, Egix, Alimidia (why do all of you have names that start with vowels).

Of those players, I think you are probably town. You remind me of your play in MMII and TM2020. From there, I think Egix’s reaction (nonreaction) to the guilty is weird. I think if Eyestott is scum, he just claims he never received a letter. He has been scummy over the course of the game, but I Think his play is just lol crazy and not scummy with an agenda. I also think that scum yesterday wanted to be on the wagon. Alimidia has not really been scumhunting and was on the wagon so I think he is scum on the wagon

So that was a game that was totally not balanced. And also should not have been called when it was.

I was worried that Churros was scum with that OP ability which is why I did not act the last few nights. I guess thinking about it, the game would have entered happily ever after. But uh yeah, Churros should not have had that role.

Beam Splitter sounds like a cool OP rule, but what roles in the game actually benefit from this? The town 1x neighborizer getting a larger neighborhood? Not any benefit. The chillbreather getting an extra victim? Can cause mafia to instantly endgame the town. Cause the inspector to get a second worthless result because the beam splitter would always cause the second result to trigger? Send mail to a second person? Cause the mafia to rolecop two people instead of one? If the astral demon doesn't count as a factional action, duplicate the astral demon kill?

It is a cool role, but in this game it was useless.

Gobble, we never targeted you because I couldn't wrap my head about the possibility of we being able to get 2 NKs + treestump in a single night. It could end this even faster prematurely.

I thought about being noble and missing one NK to balance this out for town but I'm far too unenthusiastic on playing scum nowadays to give it a go.

I don’t think this should count as no experience. It definitely counts for experience!
I think that the game was necessarily balanced because of the scum Treestumper. I think if town had that role and scum had one of the other roles, it would be balanced.

Don’t take this too hard, TL. Everyone makes an unbalanced setup for town and an unbalanced setup for scum at least once in their life times. Heck, Jingle just ran an unbalanced Large Theme and he is a great mod! It happens to everyone and what you should takeaway are the design expectations/opinions from the players and incorporate them into your future games.

I think that there were cool roles here but they needed a game that revolves around them. I think you tried to do too much. Like you have 3-4 cores in this game.

The flavor components are one core.
The masons are another core.
The Beam Splitter is another core.
The Treestumper is another core.

You could probably combine the BS and TS into one core since they have cool interaction implications.

I do not think you saying [redacted] is a mod error as most games have 3 scum. If Titus wanted to be sure, she should have asked if that meant only 1 scum buddy. That said a two man scum team would have made this game balanced as is, I think.

I think Beam Splitter and Treestumper/Chiller are really really cool roles though. You should explore more options with them!

I think I wish Eve would have been a little bit more forward with her role because we could have realized Alim’s role was scum on the basis that there were two mailman. I’m not sure it matters for the end result though because of the chiller.
