I remember people complaining about it in my past, I assumed it was on this forum, as this is where I have played most of my games. As I've said before, he's simply a gut townread, along with Sethos, thus calling it Town V Town early in the game. Usually your gut calls reads before your mind does.

But the word itself is mentioned in his role PM. Beyond that, while I don't know if he's fake-claiming or not, I'm just saying an investigative role such as this isn't a bad fake-claim if he were scum. That is to say, he could easily fake it by confirming the names of any town, and quite possibly outting some scum to clear his own name. The only way he's going to prove his role in my mind is if he gives the flavor-name of a town BEFORE they do, and they [the town] confirms his investigation is correct.

And Vifam, I know which game you're talking about. My Protoss = town theory was just that, a theory. If you got a town role PM and a non-Protoss name, I'd like you to name claim still. It won't necessarily mean you're anti-town, just that my theory could be wrong. Afterall, the mod did say this..

The problem with this plan though is that he can just choose a scum member and make-up a role then the scum member will confirm it.

Mengsk is one of the main villians from the series. Given the mods earlier post however it is irrelevant. Also since several players have claimed non-protoss, i doubt the protoss = town theory. Note however how noone has claimed one of the zerg characters

It was KJ misinterpreting one of Newmans posts which made it appear that Newman contradicted himself when talking about his role-claim. That is basically the dispute.

Dont outguess the mod

There is no way "overlord" is a real claim taking into account what all have claimed. "Protoss are all town" is outguessing the mod. "Catching inconsistency in claims" is scumhunting.

For the people not familiar with the flavor, overlord is a type of unit on the game (similar to claiming marine, tank or carrier) while we all have claimed names of characters of the game (ex. Mengsk, Reynor, etc.)

And that inconsistency is just the cherry on the top of the cake of scumminess that Vifam has shown all the game, specially the way she tried to tie her claim with her "watcher" powers and the way she started to call town vs. town in page 3.

I agree. I think we should wait until all players claim before we consider a lynch for it. If the mod wanted to through in a zerg though, he could always use Kerrigan.

An "overlord" is a unit the Zerg can build to get food. They are not important to the overall story; rather, they are units that comes into play in the actual playing of the game. They also act as transports and can see stealth units.
