Do you play Starcraft/Starcraft II?
No. But I played one with the theme on a different site a long time ago, and I still get nostalgic about it. So I play Starcraft Mafia, but not Starcraft itself.

If yes:
What's your favorite race in game?
I remember the Zerg and the Protoss. I can't remember which I was.

If you were a character, which would you be? (This has 100% nothing to do with your role, don't name claim)
Just...no.

Ready for Heart of the Swarm?
Wha..?

If no:
Do you like puppies? (got to have something in here for any non-Starcraft players - lol)
Only for lunch.

For all:
How much experience do you have playing Mafia?
Enough, but not enough. You know what I mean? I'm not getting less vague.

Anything else you want to say?

Just mess around and jokingly vote people until someone says something suspicious then the real game starts. How experianced in mafia are you?

That's silly. It's so passive.

I don't know what experianced means, but my spell-check thinks it means "underline with red squiggles.," and I feel compelled to reassert this: "Enough, but not enough. You know what I mean? I'm not getting less vague."

Why do you think spelling counts? Do you believe spelling has anything to do with justifying a vote? Why can't you make a serious vote when we're already on Page 2? Are you even playing to win?

Links to your most recent completed town game and scum game, if you have them. I would like to look at your meta.

Hard-headed you. What part of "I'm not gettin' less vague" don't you get?

Someone's mad about a player not volunteering links to their past games or any information about their meta. A townie has no motivation to hide such a thing, especially when they often have bookmarked links to their games that they can easily get.

Also, yes, my dumb, unserious questions were very serious and I am appalled by the fact that everyone has not immediately recognized their relevance to this game and finding scum. This game is already broken by the fact that I can even mention them, and the Mod should be, and quite likely is, very concerned.

Can we hear from people who haven't posted in a while? This game is lurk-tastic at the moment.

But you're still funny. You're backing off of me because I bit back. Let's compare your opinion of me and your opinion of the guy you're voting for currently.

Hasn't confirmed yet. :(

@Mod:
Replacement time?

Scum-hunting ftw. The strength of your case and passion in your words here are astounding!

I'll find them myself, but you just earned a massive scum read from me and I will be looking at them with a much more critical eye.

Now that I think of it, you're right. Clearly your Acronach vote is too strong and important to you for you to move it to someone who merely evoked "a massive scum read".

It'd be ridiculous to advert any incredibly valid observations like:

"It's suspicious that you seem to prefer a weak vote on someone whose not here to defend himself and avoid an apparently stronger vote on someone who questions your intentions."

or

"You really backpedaled fast when I countered you!"

That'd just be inaccurate. Nonetheless, I still have a strong feeling that you're scum. Not sure where it comes from, but

I never built a case against you. The only scummy thing you've done is refuse to give info about prior experience or links to games to help establish your meta.

It's a bit more than whatever your other vote was based on.

Random Voting Stage much? That vote was random. The main point of the post was to ask the mod to find a replacement...

Is the Mod obliged to work harder to find replacements for players being voted for or something?

Once again, my vote on Acronach was random. To be honest, I didn't even know it was still there. I wanted an answer to my question before I voted you. You now scream VI, so I'm not voting you. Why would I vote for someone who I no longer think is scum?

The RVS ended on Page 2. Your random vote occurred well into the middle of the 3rd. Also, THIS is what a random vote looks like:

kiwieagle wrote:RAYNORS RAIDERS!
GOGOOGOGGO!

anyways
VOTE: Vifam

I c u everywhere!

See the difference?

It's nice and all that you now like to repeat that I'm a townie idiot (unjustified ad hominen bull), but it still doesn't explain why you never placed your voted on me before when it was clear you never had a better place for it in the first place. When you did think I was scum, instead of "dumb town".

When you said that I "earned a massive scum read", it's clear that you were being disingenuous, because your vote did nothing to reflect such a passionate statement. Disingenuous = Dirty lying scum.

But not enough for a vote after RVS.

Mods often are more likely to replace or prod players sooner if they are asked about. I was asking for a status update on his replacement/prod, more or less.

The RVS ended on Page 2. Your random vote occurred well into the middle of the 3rd.
'

See Espe's vote above mine and get back to me. We were still in RVS.

I'm confused. Is it a random vote, or a vote with the purpose of getting a player prodded because only voting provokes the mod to give status updates on inactive players?

After RVS, I don't vote unless I aim to pressure or lynch. Pressure would be pointless at that stage, since no one else was voting for you or commenting on your behavior as scummy. It wasn't nearly enough for a lynch.

Now I'm a bit more confused. So you only sheep and wagon?

Why would I throw around a vote on little substance?

Also, Misrep fail. Esp's vote wasn't RVS. It was justified with reasoning, just like yours was, despite, you know, being supposedly a random vote. Which is confusing. An antilogy.

I don't know. Why did you throw around a vote on little substance?

My vote contained little reasoning or value because it was DURING THE RANDOM VOTING STAGE. This town vs. town argument is pointless and is done. I'll answer questions from any other player but you, or any of your questions that other players would like an answer to. We're just going back and forth saying "it was a bad vote" "it was RVS" "it was a bad vote" "it was RVS"

That sheep/wagon BS is the biggest misrep of all time. I never said that at all.

And Espe's vote was because it was the largest wagon...how is that not RVS? I guess a vote on someone because of their avatar is a serious vote in your opinion as well. How about a vote based on your username?

So is it a random vote, or a vote during the RVS?

I don't see how it's a big misrep. It's what you said. The quote's right there.

The RVS was already over when you voted. Serious votes were already made, and serious content was already produced. Espe's weakvote was late because he hadn't read the thread. What's your excuse?

It's hard to link to meta lies. I can link to the lie itself, but not the justification, as the justification is the absence of justification and it is impossible to link to justification if the justification is the absence of justification, because absence has no page that can be linked to.

Well, if you want to get technical. But he said, "if we look at his 'previous games', we'll see that he tends 'to switch votes often and never really be sure about it'". This is false.

Here, the absence of evidence is the evidence of absence, since, you know, there are no unknown unknowns - all of his meta is accessible.

Okay, now I'm just saying these things for fun. But they're true.

Links to your most recent completed town game and scum game, if you have them. I would like to look at your meta.

Hard-headed you. What part of "I'm not gettin' less vague" don't you get?

Not asking for you to get less vague about experience. I'm asking for links to recent games to determine your meta. This isn't anything unusual. Your refusal to give it to me is. Something to hide?

I'll find them myself, but you just earned a massive scum read from me and I will be looking at them with a much more critical eye.

FOS Psyche

Here, I "just earned a massive scum read" from gbevil (and I'm a 'them'). Keep in mind his vote is still on Acronach. But despite earning a massive scumread, I just don't deserve his vote.

He goes on to say:
gbevilchaos wrote:Apparently he's unwilling to volunteer any info about his meta what-so-ever, so I'll assume my default scum tells are accurate instead of trying to see if he does them as town...

Still no vote. My response:
Psyche wrote:Lol. I call BS! You assume your default scumtells are accurate, but you don't even vote for me? How can you expect me to take you seriously? You aren't really mad at me. U just frontin'.
unvote; vote gbevilchaos

Can we hear from people who haven't posted in a while? This game is lurk-tastic at the moment.

Here he backs off fast. And says some pretty disingenuous things (and actionable). The most obvious of which:

"I haven't seen many scum tells off of you Psyche, so I didn't vote for you." "I never said you were the scummiest player in the game."
He did say I was the scummiest player in the game, by default. No one else had received a massive scumtell. I was "the scummiest player in the game".

"I saw one in that post and wanted to know if you were serious or not towards the end."
So this is ignoring the massive scumtell I already have.

"You are acting like dumbtown at the moment, so I'm going to look elsewhere."
Haha. Reminds me of Donny the tree ogre from Adventure Time <3

"Can we hear from people who haven't posted in a while? This game is lurk-tastic at the moment."
That's right. Change the subject.
Psyche wrote:Sigh. I do suppose posting with a pseudo-idiotic style does diminish my credibility to some degree.

But you're still funny. You're backing off of me because I bit back. Let's compare your opinion of me and your opinion of the guy you're voting for currently.

(B)
Scum-hunting ftw. The strength of your case and passion in your words here are astounding!

I'll find them myself, but you just earned a massive scum read from me and I will be looking at them with a much more critical eye.

(C)
Now that I think of it, you're right. Clearly your Acronach vote is too strong and important to you for you to move it to someone who merely evoked "a massive scum read".

It'd be ridiculous to advert any incredibly valid observations like:

"It's suspicious that you seem to prefer a weak vote on someone whose not here to defend himself and avoid an apparently stronger vote on someone who questions your intentions."

or

"You really backpedaled fast when I countered you!"

That'd just be inaccurate. Nonetheless, I still have a strong feeling that you're scum. Not sure where it comes from, but
confirm vote: gbevilchaos
.

(bold letters added myself)
His responses:
(A)
"I never built a case against you. The only scummy thing you've done is refuse to give info about prior experience or links to games to help establish your meta. That's a scum tell, but only a dumbtown would have dragged it out this long. You're town in my opinion."
Issues:
- This still ignores why he didn't vote for me BEFORE things got dragged out.
- This ignores the fact that there was a case being built against me. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to quote him saying "
FoS Psyche
."

(B)
"Random Voting Stage much? That vote was random. The main point of the post was to ask the mod to find a replacement..."
- this ignores the reason I quoted the vote: keeping a crappy vote instead of voting for someone with a "massive scumtell"
- the second and third statements are inconsistent; the vote was random...and then the vote had a point.
- the vote doesn't affect the mod's replacement finding in any way.
- the random vote was made after serious posts and votes were already made.
His continued commitment to the RVS was downright antitown.

(C)
"Once again, my vote on Acronach was random. To be honest, I didn't even know it was still there. I wanted an answer to my question before I voted you. You now scream VI, so I'm not voting you. Why would I vote for someone who I no longer think is scum?"
- This also ignores that he didn't vote for me when I had evoked a "massive scumtell", even though his vote was random and crappy; current states are irrelevant

It doesn't address any of my accusations. It ignores my argument and turns it into something easier to deal with. A red herring.

As I said before:
When you said that I "earned a massive scum read", it's clear that you were being disingenuous, because your vote did nothing to reflect such a passionate statement. Disingenuous = Dirty lying scum.

His responses and my comments:
Psyche wrote:
gbevilchaos wrote:

But not enough for a vote after RVS.

Is the Mod obliged to work harder to find replacements for players being voted for or something?

Along with already noted, he misreps our discussion, performs the antitown act of ending it prematurely, and makes a sad excuse by comparing his vote to Espe's.

gbevil is scum. Change votes now, if you'd like.

Hey, guys! I was this close to losing you - my internet access has been impeded by a higher power.

I've already read what I missed, but I need to check my role pm, and starcraft wiki, I spose, for obvious reasons before I make some mistake.

Name claiming phases are always so interesting! They remind me of elementary school logic puzzles...

I had some nice ideas regarding Newman and rewq's claim because of the extraordinary nature of my role, but going beyond a cursory read, I see that both are inadequate. Which I'lll show soon enough.

Hm...how to start off? Oh, right - name claim.

I am Tychus Findlay of Raynor's Raiders.

But my role name is arbitrarily mispelled in my pm. This might've been useful for testing Newman, since he would learn the mispelled name I've yet to disclose, but wiki says the Raiders are terran. Too bad.

Still, the mispelling should help in other role confirmations that involve abilities/descriptions that reveal my incorrect-but-true name.

Also, having my role, I am cognizant of the irrelevant, yet useful, mark that all of us Raiders have. Which should help prove myself, and/or others, in terms of roles, at least. If rewq claimed to be a raider, as I first superficially supposed, then I could now call him a lie.

*

Rewq is still scummy scum.

His role claim doesn't show any protown capacity or evidence, and neither does his play. And a protoss race confirm is also useless in determining his alliance, as the mod pointed out.

His role is more fitting for the scum team hoping to tip LYLO later in the game than the town that would rather dead players stay dead and not pollute the vote count with another uninformed bandwagon.

I believe his claim, except that he's Town. I also believe the guy who vouched for rewq based on his "confirmable (through newman) role" is scummy, and he'll be pointed out soon.

Until then,
unvote; vote rewq

Though, after previewing, I think we should discuss with circumspection the utility of lynching such a harmful role, or, more importantly, the balance of a game with that ability in scum hands - so to consider the validity of a subsequent lynch.

Also, this name claiming thing is a bad idea. Especially if flavor supposedly sometimes gives hint of ability.

Watcher and Lookout are the same thing.

How is it over justification when they are SYNONYMS.

Why did you not just simply state Watcher? It's a common role in mafia that I'm sure everyone knows about. Just like you added your role to a name claim, you also added unnecessary parts to your role. It just seems kinda weird. So, even if they are synonyms, you only need one of them, not two...
