I am happy.
Happy players should have welcomed me.
Therefor: you are all unhappy and threats to the computer.
I love the computer!!
-Peter
P.S. I read the required reading and my only question is: where's all the cool weapony gear?! I was under the impression that me and my six clones were going to raise a ruckus and get into some mid-day brawls.
Computer: Your loyal Communications Officer humbly requests a 1920's Style Death Ray or Elevated Security Access. I finna bust open some airlocks and remove a few cloniez.Back off, man. I'm a scientist.-

Troubleshooters!
As your Communication Officer (CO) I am disappointed in your lack of communication. I have put in an official request for Death Rays, and should the benevolent computer bless me with such devices, Iwilluse them.
Battle Mage, I know you are new here, but it isn't in the interest of Computer to randomly vote for strangers. Everyone is pure, certainly not-mutated, and loves the computer. Why do you hate CES? Hate isn't happy, and If I know anything, I know that troubled troubleshooters are tinkering to turn the tides towards total turmoil. Computer told me so. I am the Communications Officer (CO). Soon I will have Death Rays.

Sarcasto has demonstrated himself to be a friend to the computer with good insight as to who hates the computer.
Battlemage, you appear to be challenging him?
I am not defending CES. I observed your unhappy tone. I observed your initial random vote. I communicated. I am the Communications Officer (CO). I still don't have Death Rays.
I love the computer.
I would love Death Rays. Or elevated security access. It is too stuffy in here. I finna bust open airlocks.
In a dream last night the computer had an obsidian screen. Twice green text flashed, revealing two names. Once: The Central Scrutinizer. Twice: Stark. After: obsidian turned to crimson, and the computer was no more.
It is my calling to communicate my dreams. I am the Communications Officer (CO).
I amVoting The Central Scrutinizer.

As the Communications Officer I have recorded The Central Scrutinizer.
The Central Scrutinizer wrote:I am in a secret society, but I am working for the good of the city. The Central Scrutinizer wrote:Ok, who is willing to reveal whether or not they are in a secret society? No other role names, abilities, clearance colors, etc. Only a simple yes or no as to whether or not they're in a ss.The Central Scrutinizer wrote:My role PM explicitly says I'm on the side of friend computer. I've got this wacky role that redirects people's nightchoices. I have no buddies though.
This sounds like someone who did not receive the Townie PM.The Central Scrutinizer wrote:We're not even sure who the scum are in this game.
-----
In addition I have been recording Stark.
Stark wrote:It is most obvious that the pro-computer agents are mafia. But other than that, do we have any information other than the very blatant gang of bandwagoners to go with?Stark wrote:If you're in a place with evil, wackjob computer, which is going to be the bad people? The ones who support the evil wackjob computer, or the ones who do not?
This is also someone who clearly did not receive the Townie PM.Stark wrote:Have we, however, come to an agreement as to which party is scum and which is not?

Um... go back and read the second post of this thread. The townie PM has no mention of "good guys" or "bad guys."TCS in post 305 wrote:There's one way to know for sure. Lynch me.
My role PM explicitly says I'm on the side of friend computer. I've got this wacky role that redirects people's nightchoices. I have no buddies though.
But the point is that my role PM explicity says I'm a good guy. If my reveal comes up that I'm an enemy of friend computer, then you know we've got a Space Monkey Mafia-type situation.
Earlier your tone implied that you were okay with a lynch if it cleared up some confusion. Why the attitude now? Upset someone is calling your bluff?
Also, your role doesn't make sense from a town perspective. The ONLY way it would benefit town would be if you picked the target of the night kill. Are we to believe that the entire scum team would than be night killed? What benefit does your role give the town?

I'm still suspicious of Stark and TCS. I think TCS is more dangerous to the town, so I put my vote on him. However, if other players feel Stark is a better choice I'll get down with that too.
That is the result of my analysis for everything up t this point. Other than some name calling, not much is going on in here, so I'm afraid I can't add to the discussion.

Are you joking? The Central Scrutinizer wrote:Claiming ridiculous roles in a relatively inactive game is a null-tell to me. In fact, I'd be more willing to say he's town.
The role he claimed is clearly anti-town.
Why would a town player make up something like that?

I never received a personalized role PM. I received a cut and paste of my predecessor.
I had to figure out the naming convention and apply it. It is just as "made up" as my predecessor's name, and follows the rules laid out in all the supplemental reading.
I still am highly suspicious of Stark, TCS, and now PWS.
Why didn't the death notice say if Sarcasto was "an enemy of the computer" or not? I assume he was, in the same way that Sefer was?
In addition, I thought I was the happiness officer...
My apologies to everyone playing this game. I do not have the grasp on the rules that I thought I did.

Um... Stark... what leads you to believe that you have any chance of surviving until tomorrow?
Your plan could just as easily work if we simply don't lynchyou.
I don't have any defense for yesterday's lynch proceedings. I agreed with the other voters. I didn't like how PWS was attacking me for "not recognizing the townie PM" despite the fact that I had clearly pointed other posters to it earlier in the game. I jfelt he was grasping at straws and attempting to direct attention atanyoneelse.
I'm suspicious of Killajay myself.

I'm town.
I had previously made evident my feelings on PWS.
I think it is particularly interesting that TCS immediately called for our headsbeforethe death scene. Realizing his mistake, he FoS'ed himself.
Just a few posts he had made such a point out of "confirm" voting PWS. Why the 180?

Killajay, How will you prove it?
Also...
...since you twice ignored me, do you have any arguments against me that you aren't guilty of yourself? The more you ignore me the more I think the answer is "no." If you really were town you would realize the nature of your mistake and apply it to someone who did the same. That you are content to see my lynch solidifies my opinion that you are scum. The same partially goes for the players who are voting me and not Killajay.Killajay wrote:Venkman seems to be a good candidate

I think you need to do better than that. You came into this game and placed a vote with no reason. Now you're willing to do it again?killajay wrote:Venkman it's not what you say its the vibe i am getting from you.
Flay why are you wasting your vote when I am town?
Vote: Peter Venkman
@Chaotic> If we BOTH are scum, and we both know the other is on the chopping block too, why even bother with the pretense? It takes four to lynch, surely if we both were scum we would force a majority of the remaining players to achieve the lynch.
In addition, how do you feel about Mr. Flay and TCS voting on Killajay instead of myself?
@Stark> Please hold off hammering until until Killajay has given a reason for both his votes.

Er, looks like Stark was actually the first vote on Killajay... My bad...
Since there has been no official vote count in a while, I guess I'll do the honors:
Killajay (4) - Stark, Peter Venkman, Mr. Flay, The Central Scrutinizer
Peter Venkman (3) - The Fonz, chaotic_diablo, KillajayBack off, man. I'm a scientist.-

Whereas I had stated reasons for actually lynching PWS. I felt strongly enough to do so. In retrospect it was a bad move.
Killajay had no reason and refused to give one. He also refused to give a reason for his vote on me. His attack on Stark flip-flopped because he was trying to appease other players.
Interesting how you attack me (twice!) for hammering without waiting for a claim, yet TCS just did so. Fonz, if Killajay turns up scum or town, what does that say about TCS?

Killajay, do you realize that for the past 24 I could have cast a vote to lynch you?
If I am scum, and you are Town, what has kept me from hammering? We both are on the chopping block today, and regardless of today's lynch and role reveal, the alive one will still be suspected tomorrow.
If I were scum, being that I am under severe suspicion it would benefit me to quicklynch you. It would be another dead player before my own lynch, which still could happen at any second.
Now, I definitely think you arenottown. A role claim is necessary.
Me: Vanilla Town. I understand this is not helpful, however, it is the truth.

Hammering is the final vote for someone's lynch. Earlier, I was in a position to do so to you. I did not.
The Fonz said little about my behavior earlier and voted on me. Now, when I was in the position to be the final lynch vote on you, he has decided to call me a liar. Who in this game has information about other players?
The Fonz, unless you justify yourself I will be forced to vote on you. For now, I am assuming you are trying to figure out clearance levels and still making guesses. I have not lied, and you still have given no reason why you think so.

Huh? Why are you his spokesman now?
Calling someone a liar is certainly a greater claim than his vote. He was, and still is, voting on me. Why he chose to go one step further is worth analysis.
The fact that he chose that particular moment to attack me is suspicious. The fact that he has not substantiated his claim is suspicious.

That is an astute point. I agree with you and it explains a hell of a lot about my confusion.
For full discloser, all I really did receive was the very first part of the "townie" role PM. I didn't even get a win condition. I asked Thesp if part of my role information had not been sent to me, and the answer I received was yes, but no further information was given. I thought it was flavor of the game.
So Mas and I very well could have received different role PMs. I have no idea, and it makes my own defense meaningless. I'll learn my role with the rest of you when this game is over. What complete and utter garbage.

So now my innocence is determined by the claim of another?
Fonz, if you can't substantiate your liar claim without a "full" role reveal why did you make the claim in the first place? You now have the attention of the town, the scum, and the possible mutant faction. Assuming you are town, your allusion to a power role makes you a likely night kill target.
I would have bought something like "I investigated Killajay, found him innocent, and upon his impending lynch I wanted to be certain the confirmed innocent player was kept alive." However, your question to Killajay asking for his role leads me to believe you are just making stuff up based awkward theories.
I cannot see any town motivation for your "liar" claim. I suspect you have a mutant power that allows you to learn something about security clearance levels and are hypothesizing outside your data.
I also think it is mean spirited to insist others "full claim" when you won't do so yourself. Especially after you have made it very clear that you have a power role. Why have you outed yourself, and if you are town why do you think it was the proper move to reveal yourself now? You clearly know little about Killajay, so protecting him wasn't your motivation....

Well, like I said earlier, I did not receive my role PM in it's entirety. The Fonz wrote:It is my belief, having seen TCS' predecessor's claim, that all town roles are, in fact, both mutants and in secret societies, and there are no vanilla townies per se, just players with weak or useless mutations-The only piece of information given to me was a cut and paste of the vanilla townie role with my predecessor's name. No win condition oranythingfollowed. It is entirely possible that I have a role I am unaware of and my predecessor was.
I've been working on the assumption that if I did indeed have more to my role PM than I received, Thesp would have been honest and filled in my lost knowledge. I hadn't considered that this is a bastard mod game, and now I'm completely at a loss. I was putting forth the effort in good faith, assuming the same had been done to me initially.
Fonz> Based on my first assumption I would fight your argument. However, I've lost faith. If I can't be certain of which team I'm on my vote becomes random and arbitrary.
Unvote
I don't know how I can further contribute to this game. I'll stop by and respond if you have specific questions.

I'm not sure what you're asking for. If you are too lazy to look at the title page I'm not sure why I should do the work for you. Earlier I was signing my name based on my understanding of the naming conventions. Other than quoting my role PM directly I don't know how I can give you the information you are asking for. I've already provided it in various forms.chaotic_diablo wrote:Peter, can you give us the name of the person you replaced?
Yep. I think The Fonz is incredibly suspicious. My unvote was in response to my realization that I'm being bastard modded.Mr. Flay wrote:I'm not sure how to proceed without the information from that lynch. The only other remote possibility besides yourself is The Fonz, and even you unvoted him...
However, I'll give it another shot.
Right now, Killajay has the most votes and we are deadlined.
From this we can determine the following:
1) If the players voting on me think I am scum, they wouldn't be happy that Killajay is about to be lynched.
2) If Killajay is town, than from scum perspective it doesn't matter who scum are voting on.
3) If Killajay is scum, than the scum players would be more vocal after the deadline was announced.
Vote The Fonz

My sig from earlier used the exact same convention that one would use to get Maz's code-name. I feel there is a fine line here between what constitutes a quote from the role PM. Being that the ONLY place I could get Maz's information would be my Role PM, I feel it would be against the rules to tell you directly. Still, you shouldn't have much trouble replacing Maz's name into my own.
What do you think about the rest of my post? There is a deadline, and Killajay will be lynched. I assume from your vote you think I am the scummyest player. Why than would you sit back on the sideline with a parked vote and let another player get lynched? Why aren't you talking to the town and presenting your argument? Do you think it is okay to let a lynch happen with less than a majority?

Quote me making those claims. You are not being truthful.Chaotic wrote:Your excuse for not receiving a win condition is because your role has some "special power". Now, let me summarize it: you're a power role that has no alignment. That's what you're telling us, and I don't buy it.
To my knowledge I am vanilla town. I did not receive anythingafterthe vanilla town PM, including a win condition. I know my role PM was missing information, as to how much I do not know. I have said so repeatedly.
I'm frustrated with this game, and I'm sure that is apparent. However, please do not put words in my mouth. You are mistaken, and an admittance would be appreciated.

I've been telling the truth. I'm honestly really pissed that my role PM was screwed up in such a huge way. Sending a role PM is a pretty simple thing to do, and the uncertainty that has been cast on my part makes my involvement a complete waste of time. I have been maintaining my presence here simply out of respect for the rest of you whohavebeen playing.
I'm not posturing or attempting to deceive you. I'm posting to a community that I was hoping to become a part of. I feel that I have been wronged, but instead of giving up I thought I'd suck it up and keep playing, it is just a game after all, and everyone here has put a lot of time and effort into it.
That respect has not been returned to me. I won't be posting to this thread anymore.
@Thesp, when you send out my replacement's role, try to get it right. I joined into this game as a favor to you, and you spat in my face.
