Nekka-Lucifer (5): (MidnightSun, Fletcher, IH, A Papaya, Haut Boy)
^^ Making note of this for later reference.
Haschel Cedricson wrote:Alright, it's apparent that Nekka-Lucifer is either very raw or very scummy, and it's possible that he's both. I really don't like his attempt to do some sort of word association thing on page 3; that strikes me as either an attempt to divert attention from himself or to encourage a quick day.

That being said, I'm not going to vote for him yet. I've learned my lesson about accidentally putting people at -1 from other games. :(

As for the other contributers so far: I get a vibe that xdaamno may be trying to hide in plain sight, but that's only a gut feeling and I'm not even going to make a formal FOS. I'll need to see more (preferably not about N-L) before making any further conclusions.
Really, besides the votes, this is the first truly scummy feel I've gotten from a post.

vote: HC

Nekka-Lucifer was modkilled for out of thread communication (sending a PM about the game to A Papaya as mentioned earlier in the thread).

Midnight Sun (and StallingChamp) are currently banned from the site for the events of Newbie 377, and hence needed to be replaced.
I thought MidnightSun was someone else's sockpuppet. What did SC have to do with it?

Anyway, on topic, I think I'm going to

So, I went back to voting Xdaamno because mlaker made some kind of weird grunt (a post) and I have other support for this wagon in IH and possibly mlaker. Yeah, I want to see someone hang regardless, but if I can I'll take my pick.

In the early stages of finger pointing, Xdaamno just seemed to be an entity posting from outside all the action. Also he has given the escape route of "pressure vote" with most of the votes he has made.

inHim, mlaker, xyzzy, YB

^^ one of these guys is scum. A short defense: schismatized was lynched before I normally come back to post, which I then would have explained what I had meant the night before. I left my post open like I did because I wanted to get some reactions... so much for that. I'm not all that unhappy that schismatized was lynched, because (a) I thought he was scum, and (b) I'm pretty sure we can get scum Today or Tomorrow because of it.

I'll assume I'm not scum, I hope that's fair, and continue on. mlaker lurks like nobody's business and then sheeps along to get the wagon going full steam ahead. xyzzy sheepvotes, notes the wagon is at -1 and does nothing. YB hammers without much comment. Now, I like to see quick Days... but not even commenting about anything concerning the lynch votes they were making, I see xyzzy and YB as the most likely scum. (mlaker did mention xdaamno's claim, to his credit.)

vote: YB

This part I don't agree with. Why would they both have to be scum? I agree it's a "sucky scum gambit," which is why I made the statement I did: I said I didn't know who was more suspicious at the moment, Xdaamno or sonicpulsar, and for different reasons. I believe one was intentional, the other innocent. Given sonicpulsar's response, I'm going to revert to

If you'd give me a little bit I'll summarize my case against Xdaamno and ask you about that as well to contrast them.
I think the most decisive point has been others' behavior toward Xdaamno. He had received a
lot
of flak from you, myself, and more recently sonicpulsar, and mlaker (if I remember correctly) is the only one to stick up for him. I don't think lurking scum (mlaker in theory) would do this, and after that there are no supporters, which I think is a Town sign.

I've found scum split themselves on both sides of a wagon on a buddy of theirs, and assuming we have three left (yes, I've taken the liberty to gauge a possible setup), it appears Xdaamno isn't one of them.

I assume it's because I've been all over the place on the issue of Xdaamno. Otherwise, I'd guess it would be the tone or the perceived "slant" of my argument...

For crying out loud, xyzzy, don't just ask "...Why?"

Please, let's lynch xyzzyscum today.

Wait, it's now scummy to ask for rationale for a vote?
It's scummy to ask for rationale while contributing none of your own. It's also in-thread lurking.

And "Wait... so it's now scummy..?" ugh, that phrasing is just scummy in and of itself.

Well, then TCS, let's go ahead and bus my partner first, if we're "scum together," shall we? Yeah, I unvoted schismatized because of what xyzzy said - I was willing to give schis the benefit of my doubt. What he did later on I really thought was spin, but I suppose that is now just attributed to his playstyle as well.

And yes, I'm aware that that's a typical scum claim; I'm aware that any defense I give will be met with "LOL wifom noob", so if you're unable to accept the possibility, then it's your fault for lynching a townsperson needlessly.

If you do that, you're a stupid, stupid town.
Ugh, don't claim unNKability... Town should lynch you regardless, now.

Oh, and BTW: I am not against a mass nameclaim, if others are insistent, but as a rule I tend to be against trying to mass claim to victory.

Wow, I'm an idiot for never checking this.

Xdaamno, you better find something else besides WIFOM to keep my vote off of you. I should've stuck with my initial read.

I
had one living guilty or two living innocents,
I

I'd rather wait to see if we have any supplemental information, because our pool of players is dwindling, but yes, I want to vote Xdaamno now, too.

Adam The Amazing wrote:If we're nameclaiming, we should do it before we know for sure whether or not the players are town and non-players are scum.

I unvoted because I don't want a ridiculously quick day. Good thing I did, too, because otherwise the day would be over. Let's slow down, and since SonicPulsar is so intent on discussing IH's death, let's do just that. I think this is showing SonicPulsar to be town, personally. SP, what do you think about it?

I don't think anybody caught that non-players were the mafia. What I quoted was posted on page one, but also on page 1 Thok stated that he was going to keep that information ambiguous for the moment (post 16). I think the only reason it got brought up again was because I replaced; the information there was months old, who could remember it?

I looked up the players for the All-Star game, it's not that I knew all the players off the top of my head. However, it's been all very big names that have been killed off; I'm a very big star as well, if I do say so. This page tells the lineups for the game. It's what I used... hooray wikipedia!

Yao Ming.

OK, so Adam and someone that hadn't name-claimed yet at that point are scum.

Argh, I've been so suspicious of Xdaamno, and I normally listen to my gut, but the Adam vote is too compelling.

sonicpulsar - I tried to be discrete about the specific reason I voted Adam, as not all have claimed yet. Since I've thought about it, only YB is left, and he doesn't read, I think it's safe to explain.
Adam The Amazing wrote:It's also possible the mod didn't think about someone looking up/knowing the lineups, so he didn't bother to dabble in safeclaim names.
i lol'd irl

I voted Adam because I could think of no reason for Town to link the Wikipedia article. Even so, the point made against TCS is a valid one, and may be worthy of a vote.

Really, really sorry about being away for over 5 days. I anticipated only being gone the weekend like normal, but I had some responsibilities at our county fair shoved upon me, and then a lifelong neighbor of ours died shortly after that, and I just haven't made it around to the forums until now. Sorry again.

That is the Day 1 final vote count. Only thing I can really get out of it is that I think TCS is OK. I think maybe the N-L votes might be more worthy to look at, but there were a lot of Not Voting, which doesn't help for mid-Day reviews. If there
are
two scum left, I'd bet one of them is between Fletcher and TCS, because I just don't think 3 of 4 scum would be on the lynchwagon. Because TCS is isolated on a pro-town player, I think it makes him more likely to be Town, but I also feel good about him from just his posts in general.

And the next morning... I have a couple more thoughts - I was waiting for TCS to post because I really thought he might be the Doc. I'm also one post away from demanding our Cop come forward if he has at least one living investigation result - it might be enough, in my mind, to wrap this up for good... I just need to think about it for a bit.
