Correct me if I am wrong, but the only way here for a side to win is to be aligned with the winning cult, right? Jester had an alternate win condition...key word, had. Other than that, we're just townies trying to figure out how to get recruited by the winning cult?

Feels like a game of Hungry Hungry hippos.

Um, the roles are all on the front of the thread, Kab. No matter what I have, I can read

all

of them. Not to mention, non-townie doesn't have to mean anti-town.

There only seems to be 1 anti-town role, which is SK...it doesn't seem like cults are anti-town because their win conditions don't involve killing townies.

Actually, reading over the rules again, the game doesn't seem very balanced at all.

Despite my large post number, I have actually not played many diversified games, and have never played with a full out cult before...so honestly, I don't know what one really is or how they function beyond what the rules tell me. It doesn't look like a cult would want townies dead, right?

They also dwindle town players not through death, but by recruiting. Once a town player is recruited, they are no longer part of the town. It's like scum recruiting scum members. Only in this game, the "scum" don't kill.

Well, no, honestly, I did not know that. If you can't tell by my wiki page, I've only ever played vanilla townies except once where I was a 1-shot masoniser with no alternate win condition.

I did read them...but it seemed to me like a townie could win by being in any winning cult and just had to eliminate the SK and such. I haven't played any game like this one, and to be honest, I wouldn't even be in it if I hadn't been asked to play by the Mod beforehand.

Please, elaborate on the "and such" portion of the post above.

Well, as it was already pointed out, not all roles are mentioned...we might have something other than an SK to kill to win.

So you were recruited then. You don't have to say for which team. I only want to know if it made you happy. Did you consider it a positive development for you?

And what am I supposed to answer? If I say no, I wasn't, you'll say I'm lying and lynch me. If I say yes, you'll lynch me anyway. So does it matter what my answer is?

So you are confirming that you were recruited, only you don't want to say whether it pleased you, or irked you, because you're afraid I'll canvas for your lynch no matter the answer?

I'm afraid that I'll get lynched no matter what my answer is, and town is already doing pretty badly due to the dual-protowner-death that happened and it's not even the end of D1. I can tell you, though, that playing vanilla townie in every game (but one, in which I got to do not much of anything interesting) gets a bit boring.

Well, honestly, the rules are a bit vague there, aren't they? If a townie gets recruited by the winning cult, do they win with the cult because they're not a townie anymore? Or do they lose because they're not a townie anymore?

Wow, this game sure does move fast O.o

I'm due to have my baby anytime now in the next week, so since I need a lot of time IRL right now, and this game seems to move way faster than usual, you might consider replacing me since I'm not sure how much I can keep up with at this point.
