To be clear: I got a jingle bell 2 nights ago and sent it to gamma last night. *in theory* this means gamma did not perform the nightkill since the save would have 'announced' I think

This would actually mean that Conspire, or I guess some other slot that was protected somehow, would be told they had a scum nightkill performed on them if Chronos had attempted the nightkill.

My problem with bastard games is that most of them are basically just having the players put on a show for the moderator rather than actually being able to play to wincon in any meaningful way. The ones that aren't are more just technically bastard in that they contain individual roles that could possibly be considered bastard. That is also the line that I would consider acceptable for me to not feel cheated as a player. For you to have crossed that line without any prior indication is downright ridiculous.

I'll save you the grilling on setup balance since I haven't seen the whole thing yet. But what I can say is that what you've done here is not fair on your players. I would not have inned for this with even a minimal indication of what was on the cards here. If your setup contains moderator lies, you need to brief people to that before signups, then brief them again in the rules. Not doing that, or preparing people for that expectation, is something that I guarantee will leave people feeling cheated. And there is no debrief you can give to justify it.

The point was that all of these things wound up being actually true for Conspire, so I wasn’t being stupid. I also - still have no clue what Animal Crossing even is and I asked you multiple times to explain it to me but for some reason you never did.

I also have a neurologically-based reason why I derp in all my games and constantly misunderstand things like that. It’s nothing I can actually help but a learning disability doesn’t make me stupid - not by a longshot. I try to do my best in spite of it.

I feel bad for this win as town, so sorry :c if it makes it any better, our plan was to hard-link ourselves to MS by saying “we have a pt with MS” in as many places as possible so if we died, you would all know. I was also debating whether to say to fonz we were a third party finder and MS was third party at certain points. Cosmic was more pro-third party though and since we got found really fast, that was also what shifted our loyalty.

Boon only acknowledged the game was bastard on day 2. This was the moment when most of the game realised it was bastard.
And we didn't have the extent of it

One of the important things to do with bastard games is explain how bastard it could be, so that players know whether or not to consider lynching masons, for example. Lack of player expectations leads to inherent imbalance and frustration
