WHOA I JUST REALIZED THAT THAT WAS INDEED TIME DEVOURER YAYAYAY.
Schala is blonde in that game though IIRC but I like her with CT hair better anyway.-

Like an accidental one, or someone slipped? I think Fate already has 4 votes or something, for that matter.
I did it because I had a broken breadcrumb, but now I have fixed it into an even stronger breadcrumb.-

I will lynch MoI with you if you want idk.
However, I will not lynch Iec so that part will have to be negotiable, OK?
Unvote; Vote: MoI
I can see where Fate got the connection; the effort to find it looks real to me.-

DTM, please get an avatar. If you do not, I will probably be too bored to read 40% of your posts.
If you do not get one, I will assume that that is part of your strategy, play accordingly, etc.-

I will not ignore you on purpose.
I will ignore you because I get avatarless players confused and I put them all together in the "avatarless player" box in my head. As a side-effect, I will unconsciously apply avatarless-player norms to you when I interpret your play, too, which are mostly noob norms (which would be inappropriate to apply to you, etc).
So it will help me to learn you this game.
Please do it I really want you to.
If you want I will find one but you have to take it.-

For example, I'm already semi-consciously interpreting Prana's posts differently because his current avatar has such a different tone from his previous one.-

No...my post addresses that post by showing that it's not a matter of active learning; it's a matter of unconscious associating. rewq expressed it succinctly and accurately. The Prana citation is just a recent example in support of that.
(You are correct that I ignored your Prana case, in that I did not read it, but it has nothing to do with the case. I don't know how one ignores something "by" doing something, anyway")
Getting a new avatar is fine. People are in lots of games. There are lots of reasons to get a new avatar. It WILL mess with my reads subtly, but that's fine. But it may be a breadcrumb or something for another game or whatever. It's hard to interpret much about that.
Actively choosing to have no avatar is different. The circumstances surrounding avatar changing do not apply. It is disruptive behavior.-

1. If avatars CHANGE, that's true. If you change to a BLANK avatar, that's like making your avatar match someone else's (cuz all new players use that "avatar"). I (unconsciously, but I recognize it) color my interpretation your posts with that kind of milieu. Make sense?
2. What is your case on me, other than it is somehow scummy that I want you to get an avatar?
3.DTM wrote:Unconscious[bold added] association between players and avatar is somewhat true
In the same post where you acknowledge that the effect isDTM wrote:I use Avatar's as an Identifier, not as an indicator of tone in a post.unconscious, you imply that I wrongly have some kind ofintentionalresponse to them?
4. Bullshit. This is only an issue because you are making it an issue. It is ridiculous that you won't take 5 minutes to make something.-

Unvote; Vote: Chrono
Fate may be joking; I'm not sure. I was scum with him in SE2, so I know he knew that scum had gotten fakeclaims in earlier SE games. If they were randomly dropped here and Fate didn't mess with pre-game stuff, I could see him being confused. Seems like a pretty severe error for Fate to make, though.
Chrono's response does not make sense with what Fate just did, though. Fate's response is either uncharacteristic acceptance s/p being scum or joking along s/p being town. Looks like Cassandra points or saving throw, idc which.-

He is saying that 2 players had a chance to be like I WILL VOTE FATE or LOL FATE YOU KIDDER YOU but instead they did not say anything.
The implication is that scumz are more likely to find that situation unnerving and lurk through it to see if a real wagon will come.-

Which is also why he thinks Chrono is town. Except that I can't imagine anyone posting that unless they just missed Fate's self-vote altogether.
Edit: Fate please be scum with me again someday it was fun.-

They have mutually exclusive connotations in my English. One means sneaky scumz ("ACTIN"), one means friendly townz (in the context "just joking").
Which I mean maybe he is from South Africa.

1. I know how you play consciously, but your lack of an avatar still affects how I interpret your posts. I think you've agreed that it plays a role unconsciously, so I don't understand your confusion.
2. The correct response to "please get an avatar" is "OK here it is." Not "NO U R SKUM." I agree that this is childish, but I'm not the childish one.
I have made several posts that have nothing to do with your choice not to have an avatar. Your implicit claim that I have not is incorrect.
3. You mean when I agreed to vote MoI with him on page 2, or when are you talking about?
4. Chrono didn't say Fate could be joking. He indirectly and mildly attacked someone who'd voted Fate. Not a rational response when Fate had already gone so far as vote himself IMO.
Chrono and Fate didn't do the same thing, so I don't know what you're talking about there.-

It was because votes for you didn't really strike me as odd or requiring extraordinary justification. You'd already joined DTM's "Iec is scummy for wanting DTM to get an avatar" rhetoric.
I probably should've been a little more objective, though, since it looks like he was the 4th vote, and his reasoning wasn't particularly inspiring.
I "continued to harp" with DTM because he had established a series of statements for me to address, so I addressed them.-

Also, cute choice.-

Oh wait. You also bring up the Chrono thing.
The difference IIRC is that Chrono's (implicit) take was that Zodiark was scummy for picking up on Xemnaskum. I did not think that was scummy.
I didn't think Chrono was trying to derail it; I thought he was going to get Cassandra points, since Fate had already voted himself, and that's a move that often leads to a lynch either way.
I'm receptive to Fate's take on the Chrono situation a little, though.-

bv, that will become clear when I claim my role. As for the other -- I might change my vote soon idk. The reaction was scummy (I thought) cuz Fate had just voted himself and Chrono was attacking someone else for thinking Fate claiming Xemnas was scummy. Not a natural reaction IMO. Fate's counter-point that at least Chrono posted during that time whereas others avoided the thread is totally valid, though I still think it's a weird place to go mentally after seeing Fate do something so weird.-

I clearly know whether or not I'm lovers with Fate...the notion that I "accepted it quickly" makes no sense.
I'm fine voting with Fate for now because I didn't like my Chrono vote anymore and I think Fate's shown enough evidence of legit scumhunting today that I trust him (at worst, he was playing a good enough scum game that I didn't mind rewarding him much).-

Fascinating Fact: whereas it seems like a disproportionate number of the active players in this game have called me scum by this point, the only player to vote me has been Fate on page 2.
(Or is it just that the same 2-3 people keep calling me scum over and over again?)
Not sure what to make of this, really, but I -_-'d enough at Chrono's most recent instance that I went back through the pages to check via ctrl + f + "Vote:," so there it is.-

Well, there were only 2 scum. And the Survivor wasn't a traditional Survivor; he had to survive endgame rather than make it there (i.e. he doesn't contribute to the numbers necessary for the scum wincon) It's not as if those changes were made to the set-up without other factors.-
