Benmage makes a solid point here. I want to expand upon it.

To those who did not play in Clash of Kings please review it. A VI (CSL) killed the Town. He had been under pressure early on (Day 2) and was let of the hook for being a VI. Later he quickhammered the Town Doctor before a claim could be made and was still not held accountable. Obviously scum left him for the end-game scenario where he self-hammered as Town and facilitated the scum joint win.

The moral of the story – if a VI player is playing scummy you lynch / vig them. Giving a VI a pass based on being a VI assures they get deeper in the game where their poor decisions and actions have a greater negative impact be they Town or Scum.

This whole post by MoI feels forced to me. He asks some questions that he really doesn't want to know the answer to.
Granted they may just be questions to get the game or dialouge going, but more likely is that MoI is scum. Oh, and he budded up to Benmage, so Benmage is prob town if MoI is scum.

I was gonna disagree with MoI about VIs, then I read #84 & it's exactly what I was gonna say. Let's lynch scummy (regardless of VI status). However, deviation from expected behavior will likely influence whether something done by a specific player is actually scummy or not.

I don't see what the big deal about D1 governor. If the governor screws with the town preferred lynch, we get info & he has to justify himself. But that's prolly not going to happen.

I agree GreyIce is acting crazy. I also agree that the governor role isn't that big of a deal. Mod confirmed they can't themselves so really, though it could be super useful, I don't see it as partically that hurtful

Yet another catch-up post from me. Somehow, every time I reach my last post, the thread has grown by another page or two, or three.

I do not like Raivann in #279. The way he described Song of Ice and Fire's post as scummy was just nitpicking at inconsequential things. The only good point he had was about Song liking Benmage, but not knowing what a VI was.

MoI seems to be implying that GreyICE is a village idiot, and there would be nothing wrong with him being vigged. Kinda harsh, but I have to admit that GreyICE is not impressing me with his play. His initial strong stance on what to do with the governor power made me think he was town, but his posts are getting worse. Like that vote on Mikujin for being apologetic. He was prodded, that is why he posted and apologized. This is another bad case from GreyICE.

DGB is seriously confusing me this game. She is making her lists like I've come to expect, but I'm getting a feeling that she is more eager than usual to argue, and some of her comments have felt unusually sarcastic. I don't know what this is yet, but I'm not getting a town feel from her.

I continue to have a scummy feel about diddin. However I will not put a vote there yet, sorry Chesskid.

While skimming the posts at work on my phone today ,I couldn't see name or avatars because I zoomed in, I read something and I was like"damn who's this scumbag..."

He's a very deliberate player. His posts march in sequence like neat little soliders. Reading his ISO, it's really quite remarkable. He flows from thinking about governor to thinking about the vig to pushing zoraster, 1-2-3. It's a very good style for town to have, but unfortunately, it's also a good style for scum to choose (if they can muster the energy – it's hard to do) because a.) it looks hella town and b.) it lets you march off your fake thoughts in easy sequence.

That being said, in my limited (MoCo) meta experience, he posts like this as town, and he's looking pretty solidly town here as well. I will say that as scum, it's an easier style that most to fake looking town with, and depending on how the next couple days pan out it might be worth revisiting Magua-scum. But, as with MoI, we have too much tempo to bother with testing “what if pro-town high activity player x is a scum mastermind”.

This analysis seems like it's coming from a scum perspective. " Oh, I'm scumhunting and he's town but I'm gonna try and plant a seed of doubt in town because Benmage and Magua are scary."

2. Note to self: Compare the ratio of fluff posts to content posts. The defense made me think of MD more then the game.

3. Magua: Leading into Day 2 pre flips, I assume you had a town read on Diddin?

4. I'm a bit of a sucker for frustrated posts. Hmmmmm... emotional anger is seeping through BLs defense. Possible positive feed back look of anger?

However to add: If you were following LAL and you caught Raiv lying, I'd expect a stronger conviction from BL. Self doubt isn't really a scum tell, it's just paranoia. Which is weird. But the constant attacks is revealing BL's thought process which I find kind of normal if you're frustrated. I'd say I agree with BL's statement about the circular logic in the face of that particular point. It gives her town points since emotional play is more of a townie characteristics (they are more emotionally invested in hunting scumz).

5. I like Magua's question to Thor. Taking the step to counter defenses is part of scum huntings. Lots of effort/work involved. Maguna gets town points for that.

6. I dislike Xvart because he attacks both Ghostlin and BL, but didn't take time to look at the full Ghostlin and BL interactions.

This post is awful and makes me think that both addressed players are town while Xvart isn't really scum hunting.

I really could care less who is on the holy "no-lynch list". I really didn't pay too much attention to who was actually on the list other than other than ask why Benmage would give someone a pass one day to open them up for fair game the next day. And frankly, I don't like the looming threat of all that is holy Benmage declaring who we can and cannot lynch each and every day. But back to your point, I think your missing the entire point is that Setael came out with all this junk about Bunnylover that could hardly be considered a case or even a merit to lynch. Shadow is firmly on my scum detector. I don't see him trying to find scum at all, while trying to slip under the radar. Because nothing has changed from my initial scum reads, that makes LL, Kast and Shadow my scum reads. I'd love to see a wagon on any one of them.

What about my post just now has nothing in the way of scum hunting? My vote is down, I continue to support it, and I'm even for alternate lynch candidates. I don't comment on every little thing, and I keep some observations to myself when useful for watching for scum slips.

Well, we're of the opinion I thought that Governor isn't going to make or break this game. We have a confirmed Lannister, but how much help is he really when he can't give reasons behind his suspicions beyond quoting things and making devil horns at them? To me, it sounds like a win-win; Either cow stays alive and confirmed with the added bonus of governor should we want it, or scum waste their kill on him, and it's much better than say, if we raise someone who's also power, or we raise scum.

This is like the 4th or 5th time that Shadow has implied that non-Stark = confirmed Lannister. Do you not see the fail in that line of thought Shadow?

@ Twilight Sparkle; This game is still huge, I'm still intimidated. If you look at my day 1, I wasn't really active for the first part as I ready a lot more than I posted. Also, I don't tend to post on weekends unless it's something important. I may be able to read along, but I pretty much just have my iPhone on weekends. As far as my case on Raivann, I'll admit you could probably call it glorified gut for exhibiting nearly the same behavior I pegged Xtoxm for, which are content-less votes. Scum often tends to throw down a vote to allay suspicion when under fire themselves, on an existing wagon, without contributing to it. His later 'catch-up' post did little to appease my suspicion of him, specifically because it just didn't seem genuine. I'm not convinced Diddin's flip clears Raivann (or anyone on the Zoraster wagon pre claim). They were effectively burying someone that actually was not scum (rather, was not informed minority). I still believe Raivann jumped on any town (or who scum would have believed to be town) player, but chose the opposing, easy lynch wagon to save himself. When you're town, you will still do this, but you'll usually address it appropriately, not in the way Raivann did.

As far as other lynch candidates... well, DGB still seems off, and something about Thor doesn't sit well with me. I'm mostly taking in a huge playerbase that I've never encountered before, so I don't know what is or isn't the norm for people here. I could post one-liners for everyone asking 'is this normal behavior?' but that often gets seen as content less fluff, and meta can devolve into mislynches rather easily anyway. So I'm looking for scummyness, albeit quietly. I'm still catching up on posts made this weekend.

Town don't actually need to be caught up to converse on the issues of the day. Scum, though, need to be to say anything useful. I can't imagine anyone reading to page eight and thinking that who they think the town/scum are matters at Smurfing all. The interpretation that is easily the most sensible to me is that Thor-town feels obliged to make his “catch-up's” wall-quoting affairs, but doesn't have the energy to do it. He doesn't want to flake out, so he's 'playing' in real time while promising himself he'll make that big catch-up sometime soon.

Strangely enough I actually think mine manages to make *exactly* as much sense. Go figure.
