RE: third-party/anti-town/scum debate; I think going after scum is far better earlier on in the game since SKs can hit mafia with their NK. Trying to off the SK before you go after scum isn't really optimum play since the scum won't be submitting suicide-kills against themselves. In fact, it could be in scum's best interest to hunt out SK's since they pose a similar threat to vigilantes in terms of night kills.

I'm also not liking how diddin answered the question directly aimed at Lakitu before Lakitu had a chance to answer it for themselves.

Whats the deal with this policy lynch thing so early in the game. I'd really hate it and would attempt to burn you if it is serious.
Most of the things I've read seem to be just jokes so I'm not sure what to believe right now.

Shotty's reputation seems to mark him for serious PLs in the early stages of the games. I'm sure the people proposing his PL will say more about it. Personally though, I would give the hydra a chance since it's half Gandalf, but his "look at me and oh did I mention I have an ability?" play is suspect in itself.

I've been in a game where Gandalf claimed a sort of power role day one, so this fits with his meta as far as I am concerned.

I've been in a game with him where he appeared to be crumbing a role but was actually just a VT :S I don't think we ought to pay much attention to his starting-crumbs as indicative of alignment or role, and I agree with much of what has been said about how role =/= character =/= wincon.

Bunnylover: is your desire to PL GiS based mostly on the Shotty head, or the hydra as a whole?

"I'm willing to softclaim" essentially is a softclaim because you're saying "I have something to claim." As SwiftStrike has pointed out, why do you feel the need to get a "claim" in the air so early? We're only a few pages in; deadline is in the far distance; and you still need a lot of votes to burn. It's not dumbass to point out how jittery you seem about the wagon on you so far.

Muh's latest play looks like flailing under pressure, especially his "NOU!" comment to diddin. Policy lynching a hydra with Shotty in it is not the same as bandwagonning for a quick-lynch.

They both are still considered a quick lynch. I'm jumping onto a bandwagon on someone who is considered scummy while the others are trying to get an early policy lynch. My reasons for an early lynch are better than yours.
My comment wasn't a NOU! comment it was more of a "your a hypocrite" type of comment.

-Policy lynches aren't quick lynches unless they happen quickly.
-Newsflash: you are considered scummy.
-What pro-town reason do you have for wanting a quicklynch? At least a PL has some sort of pro-town attitude (removing an anti-town player) - yours just seems to want to limit the information we get from D1?

This post is great because people the impetus for your own lynch was actually this idea that people are supposedly against. And when you say "not everyone agrees with you", I think a tally of the votes on you will reveal that quite a few people do actually agree. With this in mind: Muh, why don't you want to claim? If deadline were to hit right now, for the sake of illustrating the point, you would get lynched. You are essentially at the lynch threshold.

@CHK: I think that game was the one I've just finished with him in (was the person's signature KingCheese?). Any claims that he's improved recently are bunk. To give a bit more background: he voted early on King in LYLO so me and my scumbuddy quickhammered for the win. He also asked for Doc protection despite the doc dying D1 which proves he pays no attention to the thread. After the game, some people have suggested that DESPITE the cop having an inno report on Shotty, he still should have been the D2 lynch.

Why on Earth Gandalf would want to hydra with Shotty is beyond me, but at the end of the day it's up to him. I mean, I think it would be in everyone's best interests for Shotty to not join back in but we can't exactly decide that, can we? If it was shotty on his own I'd be pushing for his PL since he brought that game to an easy scum win, but I don't mind giving him a chance if Gandalf can control him.

Yeah, he definitely didn't know what to claim and when he was called out on not claiming plumped for the VT. If he's a VT...lynch all claimed VTs. He's the scummiest player today and deserves to get lynched in any case. If he's not a VT, and is lying...lynch all liars. If people think he's got a PR to hide, and we leave him alive on this assumption, one of two things happens: (a) he claims it in later to create liar liar pants of fire wifom, or (b) he isn't a PR and we've just let him stay alive for no reason and likely scum gets away with a VT claim.

We do require people to nameclaim, but at this precise moment there is little need for DP to nameclaim. If we decide tomorrow that he's our lynch, then we ask for a nameclaim. Premature claims hurt the town, so if we can keep the amount of information that is given away limited, this is better for the town.
