Yeh, the somewhat-possible-to-get-results thing is annoying. I wonder what the scum get? Can they build like us? Or do they just kill things?

So, where is this all going exactly? Seems to me that everyone is just sitting around, not saying anything. Thok does have a point though, it would not be a good idea to reveal who you are, as then scum will going around whoever gets the best special unit (probably late in the game). What is everyone's feeling on what's going to happen? Seems like no one's really saying anything.

i think that the random order thing would be best, stopping scum from hiding by saying they investigated the same person as everyone else, if they couldn't just say they got nothing. What we really need to do is set up some system for randomly determining who will investigate whom.

Gah, I hate paranoid/insane/naive cops. Given the already-existing probability of getting it wrong, could there just be a chance of getting it wrong? This would seem to kind of make it not work that well, but then again, if all pro-town players can investigate...

It would be nice to put a list of all the investigations people have made up, just so we have something to refer to. I don't have time at the moment, as I have to study for finals :(.

FoS: Astronaut
. Your actions seem very much like those of a scum in this situation. You are pushing for a lynch and saying that we probably aren't at lynch-or-lose. But if we are, then the town isn't going to win if we get a wrong lynch. And I know that if I was scum right now, I would be wanting the town to make a hasty wrong lynch and lose.

Allight. I'm Shaka of the Zulu. My special unit is the Impi (tech level 1; 1/2/1). My night choices/the guy I replaced's were: Impi night 1, nothing night 2 (missed it), night 3 investigated InHim but failed, and I got a second one. Night four I built another and investigated InHim with two but failed. Night 5 I teched up and investigated with all of them, got InHim as civilized; last night, I teched up and got no results.

Well, if we leave one scum of each group, that could also be helpful to the town. And since there's six alive, having 2 scum tomorrow vs. 3 townies isn't good odds, whereas scum killing each other is always nice.

Well, I'm not quite sure what you mean by miller. I think that either way, town needs to get scum killed. Who they are doesn't matter as much as the fact that they die. And it will be hard to pinpoint who belongs to which mafia. So I suggest we just go ahead with the lynching.

I could understand how the Space Race thing would work, but I'm not sure if he's telling the truth- and if he is, how can we verify it? If we are leaving him alone today, I'm thinking a vigging is in order tonight.

Okay. We
could
verify it, assuming someone else has teched up all the way, and that it's not their scum buddy supporting them. We'd need two people to have teched up. In the absence of that, I'm not sure. Also, there's nothing wrong with vigging him if he's not protown, right? His vote might help us, but he might not help us.

Umm...so I reread a bit. Let's review the investigations we had yesterday:

Astronaut: d8p=innocent
d8p: Yosarian and Lord Rahl = scum

It seems that since d8p is both cleared as sane and pro-town, we
know
that Yos is either scum or space race. Now, Yos would have had to have gone into the space race N4. For that to happen, based on this link, he would have had to have teched to Medieval, then Industrial, then Modern, and then entered the Space Race. That makes sense, and since I can't find any evidence otherwise, his claim seems to check out. I figure we might as well believe him then, as if town had some paranoid/insane investigations, the game would be unbalanced.

Also,
Mod:
can we get a prod on Tyfo?

Well, we have six people alive. I think that what we should do is lynch one of the Middle Eastern scum today, and not vig anyone tonight, so that the scum are put into a Prisoners' Dillema. Otherwise, we're putting too much faith into units that won't work for sure. If we have vigs tonight, we'll end up with two few people, and if we lynch so that one of the scum groups is gone, we are left with 2 town vs. 2 scum.
FoS: everyone who's advocating getting rid of the European Barbarians
.

Now that that's said, on to InHim. I don't think it's likely that we get 100% effective units when we're completely upgraded; that would make those who had teched far more usegul. Also, what good would the unique Modern Era units? I'm pretty sure InHim is scum.

I am 100% sure that InHim is scum, but I'm also 99% sure that you are scum.

The only logical reason not vote for InHim is that I am perfectly sure that you are scum and, at that point, one scum or the other doesn't really makes the difference, unless I find a way to tell who's European and who's Middle East.

Right now I'm sticking with InHim, as my vote says, but you just went up to 99,5%.
Actually, one scum or the other could make all the difference. Unless we manage to vig or protect correctly, if we lynch European barbarians today, we're screwed. They will kill someone today and be equal in numbers with us tomorrow. That really doesn't sound like a good situation. If, however, we kill one of the Arabs, then we are left with a situation involving two opposing scum players (prisoners' dillema, probably), which is good for the town. And as for how to find who is who? Post analysis! Go back and look!

I think InHim is most likely to be scum. Take a look at this post:
inHimshallibe wrote:Astronaut... you are the civ! :D

We don't even need Tyfo, now. d_rouge is scummity scum scummy scum scum.
I
am Gilgamesh of the Sumerians, and now that I'm pretty confident we have all of our scum accounted for, I think we have this in the bag.

I'm maxed out on technology. I have two 100% roleblockers, and one 100% cop unit. :)

My only cop result was unfortunately on d8P last Night. I built a Radar unit or whatever the first Night I had modern technology, on the off-chance we might have two outed scum and I could start blocking. I have since built another Radar thingy.

I'm pretty certain Yos is our single scum left - I blocked him last Night, and we only had one kill.

I think we should lynch a player I'm pretty sure our Middle Eastern scum is, and that would be d_rouge. That way, if there
is
some deception going on, we can't be endgamed by a pair of scum.

Ok then.

vote: d_rouge
This whole post reeks of scum to me. While it is possible that he's telling the truth, the way he says "I caught you!" and says that the game is pretty much over irks me. I think he's the best candidate for a lynch, and unless someone persuades me otherwise, I'll probably vote for him over the next couple of days.
