All is not well at Stargate Command. A young recruit has been found dead in his quarters and thanks the wonders of baffling scientific babble we know we was killed by a Goa'uld. With the knowledge that at least one Goa'uld is loose, possibly inhabiting the body of anyone on the base, everyone is paranoid and looking for blood. As nobody can be trusted to operate the Stargate controls, the iris is open - while this will allow the SGC personnel who are currently offworld to return, it will also enable other, possibly unsavoury people to come through as well.

Morning of Day 2

Despite the stressful predicament that everybody in the SGC finds themselves in, everybody managed to get some sleep last night, although judging by the two bodies found upon awakening, some people had been making the most of their time awake.

Lowell

is the first body found by the SGC staff, in what comes as a particular shock to many long-serving personnel. Their longtime leader has been brutally murdered.

Lowell, General Hammond, Vote Buyer, has been killed Night 1.

, whose hundred-odd years of experience leading Jaffa into battle didn't seem to help him this time.

Their passions stirred once again by these latest deaths, the remaining inhabitants of the SGC are about to launch into paranoid verbal assaults of each other but are interrupted by the whirling of the Stargate's wheel. One by one, two new faces come through the event horizon from who-knows-where, and each vows to join the fight.

OK guys, I am back from my trip. I'll send out prods in a moment, and if I have time later during the week I'll post a Vote Count for the end of Day 2.

Yet again, I'm finding myself writing an apology for mod absence, and it's pissing me off almost as much as it must be pissing you guys off.

Same situation as the last time - I was away (7 days with no access earlier this month) and I just have a really hard time getting back into the mafiascum swing of things. I am not sure why this is the case. Maybe it's because I know inside that it eats my soul if I get into it. Maybe it is because I am lazy or have commitment issues. I really don't know.

I will be retaking over this game, and I will do it actively effective immediately. Now, by actively, I am maybe not talking "checking mafiascum seven times a day" like I used to be. That will probably come with time. For now, it'll be once a day. I will make a real effort to get vote counts done regularly and prods too.
