Chile - Supertramp - Easy Does It
this is a very nice listen. it doesn't feel exceptional to me in any way - i'm not going to be sitting down any day and thinking "boy was 'easy does it' good". it's very nice to listen to though. maybe it deserves to feel exceptional

Namibia - Big Freedia - Gin in My System
i go so crazy for this song. i don't know why. that's not very interesting though so i'll make something up
the song is pretty straightforward. not in, like, an obvious way, but in a way of it has a beat and it keeps on beating and it's very comfortable for me. but it is still exciting. comfort and excitement don't come together so much all the time.
not my best fabrication. i will probably listen to more big freedia. maybe then i will understand

Peru - Goon - Lyra
this song makes me feel a lot like how "easy does it" did but i like it a lot better. still mostly pleasant feelings and very calm. it has a slightly dreamy sound to it that gives it a lot more personality, though. it makes me want to be a part of the world.

Bangladesh - Adrian von Ziegler - Ancient Storm
i listened to this playlist periodically over the week and this song was always kinda a bummer. i tried to judge it's quality this time and i think it's good. i don't really want to listen to it though so i will rate it low >:) i think this guy is a good composer but this song is just too out of context by itself.

the first couple times i listened to this song i wasn't super into it but then my week got worse so i liked the song a lot more. i feel a bit like i'm doing it a disservice by putting no effort into parsing the lyrics (i might come back to this). anyway i don't know how to talk about this song at all. i could listen to more soccer mommy
(i came back for the lyrics. they didn't resonate with me. that's ok)

Mount Celeste - Evan Call - Bullets for My Brothers [Acoustic]
this isn't acoustic at all is it? am i misunderstanding that word? anyway i love this song. i think it was the first one i heard when i shuffled the list. i thought "who made this song?" and then i saw it was from an anime and that made sense to me. the brass and the other stuff (hip-hop? honestly i don't know :() didn't feel like a natural mix but it's so very confident about it. i was tempted to check out the anime. maybe i still will

San Marino - Nanowar of Steel - Disco Metal
this song has quite a few fun things going on (i don't remember them that well but i know it's true). it also has a few things that are probably problems (it sounds a little autotuned at points). if this song was in eurovision i would root for it but i wouldn't vote for it.

Sumer - Water From Your Eyes - Barley
me! the first time i heard this was when i let youtube music shuffle after a fiona apple album i think. i had no idea how to feel but i was interested enough to listen again. still unaided by me heart i made the decision completely arbitrarily to like this song. i trust it's sincerity completely. it doesn't seem like the artists put these sounds together to "sound good". it sound like they put them there cause they wanted to (it just so happens to sound very good). some points make me uncomfortable in a way that keeps me engaged.
i've only listened through their albums once. some of the songs are definitely grating but it's a super interesting listen anyway. they're grating in a way i trust

i like this song in the same way i liked "gin in my system" (what that way is is left completely unresolved). it's a little less exciting though. i could listen to more suck brick kid

Scythia - The Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight, Tonight
hey i hear this song on the radio like every week. it's one of the nicer songs to hear when i'm having a bad day. my local alternative station doesn't have too much between "completely saccharine" and "actively depressing". this song never really grabbed my full attention though (ok maybe it would be bad if a song grabbed my full attention while i was driving a car). it's a fine song

Antarctica - Macross 82-99 ft. Sarah Bonito - Horsey
hey i just now realized that i've heard sarah bonito before (flamingo, obviously). i really like her singing. the rest of the music sounds like a sonic the hedgehog song. from one of the very good levels, to be clear. i really enjoy listening to this song. i should listen to more sarah bonito. probably macross 82-99 too
