I plan to do this! I have had a persistent cough for the past three weeks though (not Covid) so I'm waiting to see if that lets up before I record myself. If it does not, I will suck it and submit something anyway.

Much hype!!!

Song involving an animal in title
Non-English Song
Jazz

Country/Folk
Youtube Stars
Electronic/Dance/Techno
Disney
Billboard top 100 from 2014

The fact that there is no musical theater category on this list is cruel and unusual!

This is already a lot of fun guys! I agree with your critiques judges, and it's a lot of fun to go through and listen to all of your submissions!

Oh I'm sure I can find a musical song for more than just that hahaha. Trust me I'm already scoping out these categories trying to find ways I can find musicals which fulfill them. But I would say 90% of the songs I know well/have practice singing are from musicals, and it's also just fun to listen to everyone else have to sing songs I'm likely to know. But you are right that Disney is a similar style of singing.

Also a heads up on this current round, I'm hoping to record in the next two days. If I don't, then I'm almost certainly going to need an extension since I'm going to be traveling/in a hotel until deadline and trying to covertly record myself singing in my hotel room does not sound like fun. I'd really rather get it done now before all of that though. I already have my song picked out so just need to find time to record it.

Hi everyone, I may slightly miss the deadline due to some technical issues on my end. I should get it submitted at some point tomorrow though.

This recording is actually from weeks ago so should I have submitted ages ago, but I kept meaning to get around to trying to do another song. Oh well.

In post 73, T-Bone wrote:Wow 4 other songs I tested ultimately got selected.
Same for me! I was planning on doing Say Something if I had more time, but I wanted to do the harmonies if I was gonna do it and I ran out of time to learn how to voice layer.

I also tested out Wrecking Ball and All of You. And I briefly thought about Let It Go because that was the most my style of singing, but I couldn't bring myself to do it haha.

Song choice was really a challenge for me this time, as I suspect it may be for many of these categories haha. I'm grateful to have gotten this one out of the way early though.

I do have a song recorded, but I'm very indecisive and there are like 5 or 6 songs I've been considering so that's why I'm not submitted yet! But I definitely will submit by deadline.

Thank you judges! I know that the nasality is a problem that I struggle with, I'll keep working on it but my speaking voice is a bit nasal to begin with so it's a struggle, especially in my upper register. If you have any suggestions about how I can reduce it other than choosing songs which don't go as high, please let me know.

Hmmmm...I'm going to go with song with a color in the title I think. Final answer.

I have nooooooo idea what to do this round. I couldn't be more outside of my comfort zone. I think this might be the category I least wanted selected.

At least I got to do a classic 100% pure musical theater song last round but man, the whiplash from a song I was so comfy with to this is extreme.

I guess I have to listen to a lot of techno songs huh?

Whew, glad that round is behind me. I'm happy with my submission, but I was so indecisive that round. It was crazy. Previous rounds I usually went with my first instinct, but here I guess I had no instinct.

Well done to Flub! I'm excited to see how this will play out. We're all right there, so any one one of us could be eliminated next depending on song choice.

Ooo a twistos twist! Excited to see what happens.

My allergies have not been the best, which you can really hear on the higher notes in that recording. I hope they'll improve, but I do think I was strategic about choosing a song which suited the state my voice was in haha

Flub you are such a king! I loved almost all of your entries, and your style could not be more different than mine so that's saying something. I'm so sorry for your unfortunately timed illness.

Congrats and good luck to Lilith and Haschie Waschie! You're both great singers and it's been a pleasure to listen to your entries each round. This has really been so much fun! I want us to keep recording songs for each other every couple weeks even after this competition ends.

Spoiler:
Congrats Lilith! Very well-deserved, you did fantastic! I'm glad the vote was close though hahaha.

Thank you so much to Malkon for all of the effort you put into this. I really enjoyed getting to sing for all or you and getting to hear my fellow contestants' performances! And thank you Mina and Tool for your help judging.

Overall this was just a lot of fun, and I'm glad you ran it again and powered through the inactivity at points to see it to its conclusion.
