GROUND RULES

1. Observers must be agreed upon by both players. Don't be a dick and insist that your Aunt Beatrice be allowed to watch you play if the other guy's Uncle Fred has a thing against him.

2. Maps used for the map must be the ones assigned via the random draw and whatnot. Don't be a dick and insist that you plan all your matches on Tal'darim because your Aunt Beatrice loves that map.

3. Please don't reveal the results of your match until it's been broadcast. Feel free to play your round 5 matches before your round 1 matches if it'll make things easier on you; deadlines are for that round of matches only and don't imply that you only have a small window in which to play. Don't be a dick and insist on spoiling the casting magic because your Aunt Beatrice really needed to know how things were going.

4. All replays must be submitted to JD for casting purposes. All replays will be made publicly available after they are cast. Don't be a dick and withhold your replays because your Aunt Beatrice accidentally deleted them to make room for cookie recipes and knitting patterns.

5. This is a for funsies tournament. Try not to take things too overly seriously. Don't be a dick and insist on ruining everyone else's fun because your Aunt Beatrice will beat you upside the head if you don't win.

did a casting test run tonight

had an issue with the video capture, know what the issue is and how to fix it immediately; main issue is if i can get the video quality to where i'm satisfied with it (audio quality is pretty spot-on), and if running skype in addition to everything else causes my computer to throw a massive fit and die.

the casting schedule is going to be thus:

Rounds ending on Sunday will be broadcast at 8 PM EDT the following Friday
Rounds ending on Thursday will be broadcast at 8 PM EDT the following Saturday

Recording days will be Friday (Thursday-ending matches) and one of Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (Sunday-ending matches), prospective co-casters should PM me with the following:

- Availability
- Skype info
- AIM info
- SC2 username+char code if on eu server

Remember that matches can take a long time and we have 6 of them to go through each recording day; if you can't commit to spending anywhere from 3-5 hours helping cast matches, don't bother

Let's get on these. First cast of games (Round 1) is scheduled for tomorrow at 8 PM EDT conditional on everything not going completely wrong somehow. Round 2 is scheduled to be cast at the same time on Saturday. Expect the Round 1 + 2 replay pack to be available on Sunday or Monday.

i've come to the conclusion that i'm not happy with the quality i can provide with my current equipment when it's streamed (having done test upon test upon test), so we will be moving to a sort of podcast format; once i'm done with the editing for the first two rounds they will be uploaded to somewhere and be available for download (may release game-specific vods for those who don't want the full-on experience and only want to see certain games)

Unfortunately due to various technical issues (as well as various other concerns that will come into effect over the next couple of weeks), I won't be able to provide casted games. I will be instead writing up reports for each game and providing replay packs as a sort of consolation. Expect the first two rounds up today assuming all goes well.

DRK has stated that SC2 is consistently matching him up against platinum league players in his laddering times, and that he will be withdrawing if he gets promoted. I wish him the worst of luck so he may remain in the tournament.

Various things have come up over the past week or so which are forcing me to reevaluate my priorities and back away from a large number of my current commitments. With this in mind, the following:

1. I will not be able to provide the replay analysis I had previously mentioned. If someone else is willing to do so, then please let me know so I can forward the replay packs over to you. If no one has come forth by this time tomorrow, I'll publish the replays for each round one round per day until they are all up.

2. I will still be able to do the administrative stuffings. We are still on pace to start the bracket stages next week, so be prepared. I'm thinking that it'll be unfortunately necessary to disqualify BBM from the remaining balance of his matches to keep the tournament going unless he manages to somehow finish all of his remaining matches by Sunday. With regards to kiwi/Moratorium, we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

3. I'll still be able to play, so expect more random insanity.

going to post results for the pool phase at some point in time today (after sending agar replays since he's offered to do write-ups) in all likelihood; bbm is going to be disqualified, kiwieagle seems to be mostly at-fault for missing his match with mora so i'm going to give that match to mora
