I hadn't even considered an all-foe opponent. Basically, I thought friendlies would be popular so I started out friendly. To minimize damage from people trying to manipulate my program I lock on to defect if I'm back-stabbed just once. And of course, with two friendlies whoever back-stabs first wins! I would have lost if there were too many friendly bots that waited longer to back-stab.

I could mod some games. I think it would be easy to write a program to run the games. I'll let Pie run this round though so that everyone gets a chance at taking me out.

Its probably too late to weigh in, but I would like to have randomness. If we get to a point where a couple strategies are dominant (say mine with back-stabbing at round 7 and mine with back stabbing at round 8), then someone could use randomness to create a super-position of the two strategies, which may average out better than either one (back-stab at round 7 if head, round 8 if tails.)

I think mine is most like MokinaBot. Both of us provide an opportunity for reconciliation after back-stabbing. I don't think anyone took advantage of it though.

Shanba's bot will cause me to lose more points than Xdaamno because I will try to trust Bob at turn three, when Xdaamno won't.

Looks like I lost this one. The big question is will the tit-for-tat players beat the lock-down foe players like Xdaamno and me.

I wrote a program to figure out the scores. I threw out xyzzy's bot because I couldn't make any sense of it. I also threw out the extra Guardian bot. I won again

We would have tied for 1st with 45 points each. In our head to head match we would have tied 7 to 7. Nobody took advantage of my reconciliation behavior so it didn't help me.

I only did the bots that Pie_is_good posted. Maybe you were the extra Guardian bot? If you post your bot in the thread I'll run it against the rest, but it won't really be fair because you could have changed it after seeing what you are up against.

Basically, if a player does 4 friends in a row I do the second option (foe) always. In the match between AwesomeBot and pie_is_goood, AwesomeBot picked friend in rounds 1-4, meaning that pie_is_goood would pick foe from round 5 on.
