This is already the most normal chess game I've played on MS

It's just amusing to me because probably 80% of the games I play elsewhere start with 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 but this is the first time it's happened here.

0-0-0Placeholder - how do I castle on the Queen’s side?“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. I feel like I have a good position but not really any kind of plan.

The black pawn captured iten passant.“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs-

If a pawn moves two squares forward putting it adjacent to an enemy pawn, then (provided they do it on the very next move) that enemy pawn can capture it as if it had only moved one square forward. Notionally it is captured "in passing."
I think 22. f4 would have been a solid move if theen passantrule didn't exist, and I'd rather not get a big advantage just because you didn't know all the rules, so if you want we can back up and you can play a different move instead.“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs-

That sounds about right; lichess has a learning module on it if it's still unclear. In post 52, Nancy Drew 39 wrote:So for future reference, en passent is when you capture an enemy pawn immediately after your opening with said pawn, correct?“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs-

It's fine. I'm still getting to take advantage of the rule in a sense because part of the consideration in my playing a move like Be5 is knowing you can't just kick the bishop away with f4, so it doesn't bother me if you play something else.
And sure, take all the time you need, I'll just consider this game on hiatus.“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs-

Well you'd want to play a different move than f4 there, if that's what you play I'm still going to capture en passant.“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs-

Man I remember I had all kinds of plans in this game and I've totally forgotten what they are

I'm saying if you're going to play Qxb2 you can go ahead and assume I reply Bxb2 and make your next move too.
You do also have Ka1 as a (terrible) legal move“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs-

No, I was trying to save you the time of waiting for my next move by telling you what it's going to be.
If you're still confused then just ignore it“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs-

Sure, let's play again. May I have the white pieces this time?“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs-

Ah, how about letting me know when you're better and we'll play then.“There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say, ‘There are two kinds of people in this world: those who say there are two kinds of people in this world, and the other kind,’ and those whodon’tsay. Well, then there’s me.” — J.R. “Bob” Dobbs
