salsa did absolutely nothing so there's no read there. if hockey comes up scum she might have defended him a little bit. but it doesn't look like a defense so i don't have any reason to think they're partnered.

43 kinda pinged me like scum being overzealous, i've known this to be a tell that works for me sometimes. but i've liked their posting, they're giving reads in the thread and i think they could be town.

I get the sense you're being a bit evasive here, I don't know who hockeyfan is either, heuristically speaking hockey fan's aren't known for their rhetorical defense and being unknown could be a reason alone to be chosen as the 8ball. I think chasing lunchbait is often a bad proposition D1 anyway and seems even worse given the setup, and I get lunchbait vibes from hockeyfan.

Does 8-ball speculation help us? I haven’t played this setup before, but tbh it seems like day 1 speculation is rather pointless?

I'm hoping that it's fruitful. The main reason I have to be optimistic is that scum don't have night kill without 8ball which makes me think it's a more relevant mechanic than others.

I didn't see many games linked for this setup in the wiki, but I haven't searched very deeply.

I felt like scum!Duck was hoping for a townie to lolhammer, they had a partner who wasn't on the wagon yet who could hammer, or a combination of the two.

I think I tend to play very open wolf and I keep reading into other players expecting them to adopt that style but it doesn't seem to be very popular here. Now I think the whole thing with e-1 is more likely to be impulsive town play (impulsive in a very bad way) rather than what I think scum are more likely to be trying to do in this situation.

I think the way Salsa+Klick is playing is more in line with what I'd expect scum to be doing here.

I could see Hockey Fan being genuine or not. I feel like Hockey Fan is filling a similar role as you and Duck but with a much lower activity level. I want to know if Hockey Fan's activity level is AI.

The only reason I would spend any time sorting Ta Vera's slot. If Ta Vera is playing a more loose and open-wolf style of scum play then she's still well-within her scum range. Otherwise she's posting way too much and drawing way too much attention to herself and the slot is just town.

I read Hockey's iso a few times but I just don't have as much to contribute on this slot as the other two. I think Hockey's posts aren't scummy and I think they're vaguely townie, but there are some circumstantial reasons why they could flip scum in addition to the general probability so I don't really question the veracity of the tables FoS on her (aside from Klick.) For example Duck did a metadive and found that Hockey is playing a noticeable ways outside of their town meta and within their scum range, and so I think it makes sense that Duck FoSes Hockey. I think it would be very helpful if another player who feels they have something substantial or concrete from Hockey's iso can point out to me why I or the table should scum read or town read Hockey strongly.

Frogster reads as really town to me in multiple places, they read as legitimately interested in engaging and their takes are believable

The reads look fake: Compare how easy it was for Klick to determine Dragon and I are town compared to the rest of the player list in this game. Most of the other players either can't tell or put in a lot of work before deciding to townread Dragon or I. I don't really have any problems with this post on the surface, and I don't think it's townie either, I think there's a lot of content potentially left on the table here. Overall it's null on it's own, but I think it's scummy that she flakes on showing up in the thread again, and still doesn't fix her vote on Enchant.

Enchant and why I don't want to go there today:

First of all Enchant is a high risk of being chosen as the D1 8ball. I've played with him one game (Secret Hitler II) and I was planning to choose Enchant as the D1 8ball if I received the scum role in this game. Six other players in this game are likely aware of this opportunity as well due to their prior experience playing with Enchant. The fact that the two other players at the bottom of the PoE (Hockey and Klick) are voting Enchant should raise at least one eyebrow if not two.

Second of all, and more importantly, reading Enchant's iso I found some examples of what I consider high-effort posting relative to the slot:

I think this is a good question and if Enchant didn't ask it I then I was going to have to. I think this is a sign of effort posting (this time in a strictly townie way) because it makes sense to be clarifying unclear posts like Vera's at this stage of the game and finalizing where everyone stands for D1.

One thing I want to throw in here is it could be that Enchant is more alert of the gamestate because they're scum and don't want to get slip or whatever, or that this isn't really effort posting coming from their slot or whatever, so if someone wants to trash my townsend be my guest but explain why. Unless someone dissuades me though I'm thinking these posts from Enchant make him slightly more likely to flip town this game, and because of the meta of the player I also think they're slightly more likely to be the 8ball.

Okay I'm going to be forthcoming and state that I think the D1 PoE I came up with is shit and I was wrong about multiple players alignments.

I think this is a very difficult table to play town in and I want to execute the culprits without hitting 8ball. I think this could be a good strategy for townplay in this setup because it makes the game harder over time for scum.

I think theworst is unlikely to be the 8ball and I think they're pretty consistently antitown. I think the fact their activity level is so high and the table is so difficult for townies to interact is a sign theworst has been Powerwolfing and pushing us around.

I say this a lot but activity is rarely AI for me, take it with a grain of salt. mmm salt. i think just because i've been at work/wedding planning/asleep instead of playing mafia on day 3 isn't really a good indicator of what my alignment is.

i'm a little hesitant on enchant and the worst being partners because why quickhammer someone who wasn't the 8-ball unless it wasn't planned, unless it was just something that happened because Enchant likes to hammer people. Even so, I don't really remember a lot of effort from Enchant before today. I'm trying to be cautious but i think that's where i'd want to vote.
