As LML just demonstrated, intelligence and the ability to communicate effectively do not effectively hedge against the town's tendency to self-destruct. At the very least LML should have stalled so we could get more information from this day before we lose another to a NK.

I don't support this now that it's been announced. I will be happy however to be the person to make the "boom goes the dynamite" if adel is dead tomorrow.

ok, I think I've come up with a method that will win the game for us. It requires strict adherence to the following rules:

1: no one strikes a light until there are two wagon with >66% of living players between them. Everyone votes as per normal, and every 25 posts or so someone posts an "unofficial" votecount to keep track.
2: Once >66% of living players are voting for one of two players, one of those players strikes a light and kills the other. If both the #1 and the #2 player refuse to do this (should only happen if both are scum) a volunteer will kill one and then another volunteer will kill the other.
3: One player will act as the "enforcer" killing any player who strikes a light prematurely. Each enforcer names her own replacement. I've volunteered to be the first enforcer, and I name Quagmire to be my replacement once I am dead. I choose quagmire because I felt he was pro-town but would be a distraction to the town. I suggest future enforcers follow my example. If the designated enforcer fails to do her duty, she should quickly be wagoned and killed under rule 2.

I don't think I've been a "distraction" to the town in the least. I'm volunteering for this as it's the best strategy to win the game.

I never made any judgement on CES's reasons for voting Yos. I do think the two-night-tell is nonsense. I was only commenting on Yos's reaction, which I didn't like. And I do think saying "you're smarter than that" implies the person is acting stupid. It's a slightly disguised insult. And a manipulative way to get somebody off your back.

Uh, and what, exactally, are you basing this idea that I'm somehow especally reluctent to be blown up? I'm always going cautious in daykilling games, overhasty town in these games leads to disasters, but I'm perfectly willing to blow myself up if necessary.

At best, Krubio's play shows a lack of basic planning and consideration of probabilities, at worst, it betrays that he lacks a true townie mindset (though I couldn't see how this play could help scum either)

elvis_knits because she hasn't posted anything of substance and has sat in the shadows the entire game; something which is the best scum thing to do (see: yosarian). I mostly need to understand why she's been the subject of little attention.

But, yeah. Best pro-town people this game probably were:

Elmo: Good instints there. I had thought I had just about talked myself out of trouble too, heh.

Quagmire: All around solid play.

Adel: The biggest contrabution she did to the town wasn't just the stratagy, it was that she sucessfully created a lethally effecitve pro-town block of her, Quagmire, and PEG, and that block then gave us no end of problems for days until we finally managed to kill them all off. Although I will mention that we deliberatly left her alive because I was completly confident she would end up killing some random townie for striking a light.

Quag and Peg's suspicion were dead on for the most part. I didn't quite understand them in respect to Elvis but I guess gut is all that matters as Elmo proved.

I had elvis pegged because Elvis was the lone player who seemed scared to have any attention brought onto her throughout the game, which is a proper tactic among mafiosos to not be placed in a position where they have to blow themselves up. Think about it: the most active of players, with PF being the lone exception, were the ones who exploded. elvis "talked," but wasn't really 100% there and active the whole time.

Elvis was good, too. FWIW I would have picked her & Flameaxe to blow up (with slight townish read on FA) at the end, but she seemed quite natural when I was alive... I had her in a sort of 'slightly townish to neutral depending on skill' category. And that's better than most scum do

I did feel that Marmalade was obv town and it was unlikely that CES and Yos were both scum, so I didn't approve of CES - Marmalade blowing up. But I did feel that NabNab and PF were fairly obviously town, and that was good play from them, staying up, heh. But then good enough is the enemy of perfect, right?

I do think we got lucky inthat Surye made it kinda obvious that skitzer was town; without that, Elvis would have killed probably PokerFace(?) and the endgame would have been something like {NabNab|PF}, Flameaxe, Skitzer, Elvis. And if you looked over the game as a whole, Skitzer - Flameaxe blowing up is quite tempting. I thought town might lose when CES blew up Marmalade.

I should have found another replacement other than Quagmire; and I should have replaced Flameaxe rather than modkilling him. I regret both decisions. I don't think that it changed the outcome of the game but nevertheless if I had my time again I wouldn't have done that.

I realized this problem as soon as I replaced in. I tried my best to shut out all "Quagmire I" information and focus only on what Quagmire II would think.
