Hi, this is me not striking a light

I find this post rather interesting.

Also, to those criticising light striking: although now realising the error in my ways, I did it because of my previous reading of Bad Idea II Mafia, where there were examples of rash kills, and people having to wait before they could potentially intercept them. I incorrectly assumed that those who wanted to, at one point, kill Jack, were in fact impeded by such a restriction. After a quick re-read of the game, I realise this isn't in fact the case (it was a while ago that I read the game, and although I should have re-read... I didn't.)

@LML: I struck a light, as it seemed like a good stratagy for everyone to be equal in risk, and given day one everyone was striking like mad, I assumed there was the state we would be safe in, as it would be sort of like a cold war.

That said, I'm willing to possibly use my dynamite when we come to a decision so that town does not need to risk any more people, as I doubt scum will attack me, they would lose a 1 for 2 game far too quickly. If anyone else wants to strike a light, I'm not trying to say not too, just that since I did, and cannot undo it, I'll try to put it to good use later.

This feels slightly off to me -- almost like an appeal to look more like a townie. This type of argument, however, is notoriously problematic, as GreasySpot's dynamite explosion of blazerunner demonstrates. It just is a bit of a gut suspicion that I have.

I need to re-read the combined Adel/Skruffs attack on Yos, although, to be honest, I find the Yos hate pretty uninteresting.

I'm slightly confused about the way Adel says that Yos is scum for suggesting a 3 scum group, but then

immediately after

agrees that a 3 scum group is likely. Huh?

Skruffs, stop acting foolish. Asking whether or not LML killed Ooba had nothing to do with whether or not I want day to end. Your logic is nonsense. Why would I feel the need to "encourage further stimulation"? What does that even mean?

Agreed. I get the feeling Skruffs is bringing up semantic/irrelevant stuff in order to derail the actual discussion.

I like elvis_knits, by the way. Not in that way, though.

I agree with everything else in his post (regarding not agreeing with Skruffs, and that Adel's plan is good.)

If so, a reminder that anybody who strikes a light without town consensus can expect a speedy demise.

The first thing I thought here was that Erg0 was leading his army of n00b scum, so that they didn't strike a light.

I like elvis_knits and Adel. I don't like Surye (his posts feel contrived to me), Skruffs or Elmo. I find the Yos hate uninteresting.

Anyway, the reason I am voting for you is because of this:

Claus: I don't have a lot yet, I was mostly waiting for people to stop being dumb. I don't really see Surye as scum right now, I feel slightly bad about Marmalade and CES.. also a little bit about Adel, although I'm not sure if that's because she's being Adel . I'd support Adel killing off anyone who strikes a light, and Yos' idea of having suspicious person #1 strike a light and then be immediately attacked by #2. I do figure that 90% of the talk beyond "don't be stupid guise" is superfluous right now. I happen to consider striking a light early both anti-town and a small towntell, though it's probably not really relevant. I don't really know about Yos' comment on three people; I'd lean towards it being null, because three seems quite low for a game of this size, and I can perfectly see him making a slip of the tongue. I do think Yos is right about lurking being especially harmful in this game.

Let's translate:

Elmo: "Golly gee, um, Marm looks a bit scummy, as does CES, but Surye doesn't and Adel might, but she might not. I don't really know what to think about Yos' comment, not about striking a light. I just don't know, really. Oh yeah, vote Marmalade."

non committal, and your jump on me looks opportunistic. I think it's quite hypocritical to expect reasoning when you "can't remember" yours, and further, if you can't remember your reasoning, why are you still voting for me? Surely, the logical thing to do would be to remove your vote.

I agree with pickem that Surye's recent posts are suspect, but I'm not entirely sure as of yet whether or not his skitzler vote is opportunistic. Not voting for now.

I really don't like either or Elvis' top suspects. The Yos case is really lame, and as for Peg, striking a light for show as scummy, even though it had been highlighted by many that striking a light was scummy. Sure, it may have been for show, but I'm unsure why you consider such an action so indicative of alignment.

Further, I don't like how she says she was be willing to blow Yos up -- rash blowings up are a bad idea (surely by now this is obvious).

I like Poker's recent post, although I don't get his Sarc suspicion as much. I wouldn't oppose Surye blowing up, but I'd prefer skitzler if I had to choose between the two of them. Elmo is still striking me as suspicious because of his random Erg0 vote, and I don't like the Yos voters (particularly Claus, who keeps going after Yos

Of the two that have already striked a light, I would prefer Claus to blow someone up. Yos would be a pretty bad target to be honest, especially since those voting for him are all relatively suspicious.

Not sure exactly who I would want Claus to explode at this point, but I think probably Surye, skitzer and elvis_knits are all okay with me, although I need to re-read to confirm this.

Anyway, I'd be okay with Surye and Elmo blowing up this round. Surye seems more antagonistic after being called out for cautiousness, and Elmo has consistently failed to provide reasoning for his votes. Elmo's jump to Sarc also strikes me as suspicious.
