To make the GL Game Invasion complete...

RAF is Richard Garfield's multiplayer version of RPS. The rules are simple: everyone submits a choice to shoot another player, themself, or the air (No one). If you get shot, you die, with the exception that if you shoot yourself and someone else shoots you, they die and you don't. If everyone dies in one round, that round restarts with the players who were alive at the beginning of it.

Maybe 8-10 players to start out?

No, don't submit a choice until people have signed up and I decree the game begun, so that everyone knows who the potential targets are.

Yes. Of course, if you shoot yourself and nobody shoots you, you die.

Round 1:

Genku, blackhawk, Stewie, Totem, and Kerplunk form a line, in that order. "On the count of three, shoot the person in front of you!" orders genku, "One... two..." "Wait, I'm at the front! What do I do? I'll just... um..." "Three!" Kerplunk spins, confused about the whole arrangement, so Totem's bullet bounces off Kerplunk's convenient reflector helmet ears. Quagmire, watching, says "Bah! You're not dead enough, Totem!" and pumps a few more bullets into him.

genku shoots blackhawk, who shoots Stewie, who shoots Totem, who shoots Kerplunk, who shoots self. Quagmire shoots Totem. blackhawk, Stewie, and Totem die.

Shadyforce locates PBuG, "Look over there, it's Someone!" PBuG fires at Someone, who had no idea what hit him, as he himself gets shot in the back.

shadyforce shoots PBuG, who shoots Someone, who shoots air. PBug and Someone die.

Gslamm deals with rite, who was just hoping everyone would ignore him.

gslamm shoots rite, who shoots air. rite dies.

Thoth and mlaker stand aside and wait for the dust to settle.

Thoth and mlaker shoot air.

Still alive for Round 2:

gslamm
mlaker
Quagmire
Kerplunk
genku
shadyforce
Thoth

Legally, you couldn't shoot rite again, but if you wanted to shoot air with some commentary about how you're shooting rite some more, I'd accept it.

Edit: And I'm only waiting on Quagmire and Thoth. Edit: Make that Quagmire.

All the choices are in, and this round's a doozy. It's tricky to express it in a way that does it justice.

I can do it. There is an answer. But I'll have to think about it.

Round 2:

gslamm stands alone, thinking out loud about his strategy. "It seems a lot of people went offensive this round. Obviously, they'll keep up the shooting other people, so I'll probably get shot." He pulls his gun, points it at himself, and waits for his enemies to come. They don't.

gslamm shoots self. Nobody shoots him. gslamm dies

Kerplunk plots, "Well, somebody will surely go after me since I helped kill Totem and everybody just loves shooting other people! Obviously, this is a good round to shoot yourself! What an amazing strategy! I'm surprised nobody else thought of it." He pulls his gun, points it at himself, and waits for his enemies to come.

Time passes, and it seems as if all of his elaborate defensive plotting was for nothing. It was.

Kerplunk shoots self. Nobody shoots him. Kerplunk dies

genku realizes that the pattern of death may lead to his own victory. All he'd need would be for one of his opponents to come after him as well, and it may just lead to his own survival, if not victory. He pulls his gun, points it at himself, and waits for his enemies to come.

Time passes, and it seems as if all of his elaborate defensive plotting was for nothing. Then, mlaker comes, and genku breathes a sigh of relief.

A moment of tense silence. "Mlaker, I hope you've got the same target I do."

"I believe I do."

"That's good. Firing at me?"

"Exactly. Firing at me."

They sigh, and wait for a savior for either. None come.

genku and mlaker shoot self. Nobody shoots either of them. genku and mlaker die.

Thoth doesn't seem to see the pattern. "Shooting myself might not have worked for half the other players, but it will work for me. Why be passive and shoot air?" He pulls his gun, points it at himself, and waits for his enemies to come.

Time passes, and it seems as if all of his elaborate defensive plotting was for nothing. Then, Quagmire comes, and Thoth breathes a sigh of relief.

A moment of silence. "Quagmire, I hope you've got the same target I do."

"I believe I do."

"That's good. Firing at me?"

"Exactly. Firing at me."

They sigh, and wait for a savior for either. Shadyforce comes.

Another moment of silence, which Thoth breaks. "Shadyforce, I hope you've got the same target as one of us."

"I believe I do."

"That's good. Firing at me?"

"Or me?" chimes in Quagmire.

"Exactly. Firing at you."

Having no one to wait for, they fire.

One lies dead by his own bullet. One lies dead by a bullet strangely reflected by his comrade. One remains alive, looking at the twelve who have gone before him.

"Where'd this serious suspenseful tone come from? I was hoping I'd get another sig out of it," asks Quagmire.

Thoth and Quagmire shoot self. Shadyforce shoots Quagmire. Shadyforce and Thoth die. Quagmire survives and wins.

I'd rather not run again, since I want to play.
