See, I've only dabbled in the games themselves... I only just you know, watched Pokemon a lot as a kid and had the cards.. when there was a manageable amount of pokemon to name.

i have a sneaking suspicion that raya , murdercat and xof (at minimum) did something pretty similar to what i did given that their rosters are full of players i at least considered

My only strategy was to focus on 2 games instead of all 3. And then pick 2 players for each team I think will win (I have 0 background knowledge for this. I just guessed), then took 1 from each other team.

I have no idea if they're good. I went with expensive = good which is probably not entirely a fact

Turning relationships into deals is what kept me alive, and could have helped you the round you went out (it's why I saved xof instead of you).

I spoke to almost everyone but I definitely wasn't making any deals or anything so I appreciate this advice

The subtext of my messages here is "please ask me to be your ally, I am open to alliances." I am telling you this not to scold you, but to encourage you to be bold and take opportunities like this to go for it. I did not so much this game, but this is the sort of shit I latched onto in LSGs in the past as an opener to "so do you want to be alliance pals." Early bird gets the worm!
