I know you said to avoid actual game advice but these are very basic ones that aren't even that complicated and can definitely help any newbie. Also, I've written these before realizing you're looking for site-specific stuff and I didn't want to shift delete.

humaneatingmonkey's guide to eating humans:

1.
Understand the game rules:
Before you start playing, make sure you understand the rules of the game, the roles involved, and how they interact with each other.
PROTIP:
Be aware of the nuances of different roles and how they might interact with each other, as these interactions can have significant impacts on game outcomes.

2.
Effective Communication:
Clear and concise communication is important. Be open about your suspicions, ask questions, and explain the reasoning behind your votes.
PROTIP:
Consider the timing of your communication. Sharing the right information at the right time can shift the game in your favor.

3.
Active Participation:
Join in the discussions and voting. If you're quiet, others might think you're hiding something.
PROTIP:
Try to contribute to the conversation regularly, but remember, it's a game of balance. You don't want to draw too much attention to yourself either.

4.
Analyze Player Behavior:
Watch how other players act. Do they talk a lot or are they quiet? Do they agree easily or question others a lot?
PROTIP:
Try to remember how each person acts at the start of the game, then watch for any changes in their behavior.

5.
Take Notes:
Keep a record of the game as it unfolds. Note down key events, voting patterns, suspicions raised, and behaviors exhibited by players.
PROTIP:
Refer to these notes regularly, particularly before making important decisions or accusations.

6.
Question Everything:
Don't take things at face value. Always question the motives behind a player's actions or accusations.
PROTIP:
Sometimes, it's not just what is being said, but who is saying it and why. Understanding player motives can help you see through deception.

7.
Stay Calm and Rational:
Try not to let emotions cloud your judgment. Making decisions based on emotion rather than logic can lead to mistakes.
PROTIP:
If you feel like you're getting emotional, take a break. Keep your participation to one post every three hours and return after an hour if necessary. Maintaining a clear mind is crucial.

8.
Defend Yourself Effectively:
If you're accused, don't panic. Clearly explain your actions and the reasoning behind them.
PROTIP:
Preparation is key. Anticipate potential accusations and have your defense ready beforehand to avoid panic in the heat of the moment.
