That's easier said than done. If you think about the average player in a Mafia game, and you think of their strongest townread. MOST of those reads will be right. But usually at least one won't be. We have to aim for one maximum, or ideally none at all.
Another way of viewing it is, collectively, we have to find all but two town (or one town, if we mess up!). This setup is a lot more scumsided than it seems.
Well, luckily most of us have played a bunch of games together. So as long as we don't get stuck in a wifom spiral, i feel like we will be good?
Town!Drew would say something like this. Unless Scum!Drew KNOWS that I know that Town!Drew would say something like this. But then he'd know that I know that he knows

I was going to say that this sounds like a version of the klick strategy and then I realized it probably is
in the orginal klick strategy, this is meant to be done at lilo but maybe that's just because it's meant to be employed as a last ditch effort when no scum has been caught and theres not a lot of info to go on, but maybe it makes sense to do it here bc there's never going to be any flip info to go off of.

I haven't played with Mala when she's scum (or maybe not at all? We've crossed paths but I can't think of a game), but I've read a few of her games and I feel like she has that kind of carefree sound as scum too. Like, she made me laugh but I do think this is in her scumrange.

I don't really feel like playing super conservatively in this game btw the way. Unless someone smarter comes in and tells me some mech strats I'm overlooking, this is just a vibes game in my mind. Anybody I think might be town, I'm going to offer to trust. Anybody offers to me and I think they're town I'm taking it and getting outta here, thats the point

I don't think she would have closed herself off to the possibility of asking others. If she's scum she's basically taken away one of her own tools and now has to wait for someone to ask her to get out of the game, and given the doubt around her that would be pretty risky

Okay, so what about the klick strat?
We all agree that Black is the towniest, why don't we ask her to choose two folks to trust fall. She can still be wrong but we know that she won't be actively working against us

I want to say though Black that you shouldn't confuse a personal preference with a scum/town tell. I hope I can explain what I mean by this. I mean is that you've stated that you want to stay in the game, so it seems you're thinking that others who think like you are presumably towny. But that doesn't mean that your preference is the 'town' way to play- the two don't actually correlate. That I don't want to play this game endlessly till late October is a personal preference of mine, I think it will be fun to trust fall and I'm playing a game in order to have fun.
Also, I'm not sure it even makes sense to say that Mala is eager to trust fall when she's stated she won't be accepting any offers or making others while you're still around. That seems to me to be the opposite of eager to leave the game.

I don't love the committee idea, I don't see what it gains us vs what it potentially loses us.
'Keeping top townreads around' doesn't make sense to me? The goal is have town leave the game. And there's not a mechanic in this game, like wagons or lims, that allow us to get more information the longer we go. The top townreads don't gain anything by stay or become more wiser by staying.

that's really interesting! I'm glad we proved it can be run for fun. I think you're right about the unfortunate consequence of that V/LA. I'll be blunt and say that if a game is going to open when you know you have a long V/LA you should probably rep out.
