fairies are often considered to be mystical and/or somewhat transcendent, not entirely fitting into the norms and logic of our human orientated world. they are often seen as tricksters or mischievous.

Neon is an element which is chemically inert, and does not react easily. However, that doesn't make it bland - in the right conditions it can shine extremely brightly, and neon lights are known to be seeable from a long distance. In the universe, it's actually an extremely common element - behind only hydrogen, helium, oxygen and carbon - but on Earth it's rare.

Dragons are often considered to possess the qualities of many different elements. For example, it would not be rare to see portrayed a dragon which has fire or ice elemental powers. Wherever they appear, in folklore around the world from Europe to China, dragons are depicted as ferocious and serious beings. They have a tendency to use their breath as their main weapon. They are sometimes depicted as beastly and strong, but also have an intelligent and even cunning quality.

Iron is strong, tough and useful. It could be considered the most practical element. It is the second most common metal, behind aluminium. Humans need iron to stay strong.
An excellent choice. May I ask how you made these?
If the only path forward is difficult, it's still better than none. I'll meet you there.

iodine comes in a vibrant purple colour. the human body doesn't naturally produce iodine, but it is vital for the proper functioning of said body. it's often used for school experiments to help people learn - testing samples for starch, primarily. it's also used for spacecraft propulsion! it's quite an efficient propellant, apparently. it has less atomic weight than xenon, which is usually used, but has lower ionization energies? while i don't really understand it, it seems like that means it lasts longer.

wood is a building block of our world. without it, we would struggle to survive - it acts as a support for trees to allow them to grow and absorb sunlight and release oxygen. This is very useful for respiration purposes. Wood is often very old, and 'growth rings' in the wood allow an onlooker to read its age.

cadmium is used for electroplating in aircraft and in batteries. in 2009, 86% of cadmium was used for battery production, quietly helping to fuel the society we live in. it can also contain neutrons in nuclear fission.
