BTW, I'm saying that there's only one mafia faction, but that there are pro-town powerroles that use knives.

Knife cop more than likely would indicate whether or not a certain player had a knife or not. Other than that, I have no idea.

Exactly. It's probably not a specific mafia group.

However, I refuse to play on the idea of two Mafia factions until we find this second faction. Hopefully, a Pear Bear lynch will reveal a lot.

Do you think thaE we needed a COP to find knife-yielding TOWNIES??? Like, a cop that finds a VIG??????

A cop gets a GUILTY or an INNOCENT.

Otherwise it's not a COP.

Talitha was a COP. Not a metal-sharpness detector. A COP.

I believe, from the messages Pear Bear seems to be telegraphing in broad daylight, that he belongs to a scum group that doesn't know who their buddies are. If he's Precooked Mafia, then we know that we have to look for Precooked mafia trying to feel for each other in broad daylight, or, if he belongs to a still-prospective Knife Mafia, we'll know there's another Mafia, and that's the one for which we must look for 'feelers.' Definitely a different set of scumtells.

Well, his play has been really weird which seems to indicate that he's not normal Mafia. At least, that's what some of the other players have been saying.

I would like to hear from Pear Bear before I decide to add my vote or not. Right now I am leaning towards he is scum but as things have been going he will be lynched by the time I check the forum tomorrow. Everyone please give him a chance to post.

And a player with a knife, for whom a COP would get a GUILTY result would be of what alignment???

Variable. It's not a normal cop role.

You do realize that you are making speculation favoring a very low-probability occurance.

First, you don't know whether Talitha's role was not 'normal.' If it wasn't 'normal' it may have a sanity issue. But I guarantee you she was not in search of a TOWNIE 'vig' as you are suggesting.

Second, very often, when you have two mafias, each mafia will have its own cop. I've seen that a lot.

A cop that gets a 'guilty' on a vig - NEVER.

Are you going to continue to stick with that untenable theory, zwet?

Do you have an opinion then?

I think zwet may be referring to a role like a gunsmith- which checks whether a player has a knife. It's certainly possible, but I also wonder whether they would have "cop" in their role title at all if all they did was check for a knife.

i've seen games with mafia unable to nk. in fact, in a game on another site(in which i'm a dead townie. T.T) they have almost won. it's quite probable that a mafia without an nk could win.

But it's pretty imbalanced if there's another killing faction in the game, yes???

no. in fact, the game in question has an sk and two mafia. granted it's only an 8 person game...but i'd assume that it could scale up in some form or another.

I believe that if anything, this person that is getting the knife kills is an SK and that Talitha may be a sort of "Psychiatrist" role or something like that. That or there is another mafia. I seriously doubt what zwet is saying is true.

I'm not expecting a good defense from PB, but I will still let him speak before I vote him.

Slicey, why do you doubt it? It's been used before. It's a variant of a gunsmith, but it returns the result "knife" or "no knife". This role can be used in games with roles such as the knife-killing mafia you guys are talking about and certain pro-town power roles, such as a chef, which is a variant on the inventor role.

The sushi chef is dead. >_> I'm pretty sure that was Talitha's role.
