Welcome to the World Famous Inventor's Convetion! This year, we are celebrating with a tournament to see who can be the best inventor. However, an informant has stated that three competitors have cheated and tampered with the competition materials! It seems they were intending to defeat the competition by killing them.

Twelve competitors enter the grand workshop, three of them are cheaters, and it's your job to eliminate them!

Basic Rules:
Have fun! This is a game, and should be enjoyed as such.
Be active! It is expected that you post at least once every 72 hours. If you do not, you will be prodded. If you do not pick up this prod, and post within 48 hours of receiving the prod, you will be replaced. If you are prodded thrice in one day, you will be replaced regardless.
Do not talk about the game with anyone outside of this thread unless your PM states that you can, and if so, only when it is permitted.
Purple is the color for Mod communication in the thread. Please do not use it, or it will be changed.
To place your vote on somebody, place it in bold (ex:
Vote:RBT
). Unvoting is NOT required, but if you choose to do so, is done in the same fashion.
When you die, you're dead. You may have one "bah" post, which may contain no game-related content. After that, do not post again until the game has ended.
Vote counts will be mod-edited onto the top post of each page.
Deadlines will be enacted, should players request one, or I feel the game is not being active enough. They can be removed by mod decision only.
These rules are not final, and can be changed should I decide. If I change the rules, you will be notified in thread.

Game Specific Rules:
There are two game phases, one where you work as a group (day) and one where you work as an individual (night).

During the day phase, you nominate someone to test out the contraption that you have built. Safety is not guaranteed. In fact, it's highly doubted that you could ever survive.

During the night phase, all of the inventors will go to their individual workrooms and be tasked with creating one of the devices that was provided to them in their patented box-o-stuff. Each box contains 7 smaller boxes with assorted things in them. Odds are that there are devices in them, as you have to try and figure out how to build the device. Unfortunately, you are only given instructions on how to build one of the devices (the one that matches your box color). The scum cheated and have instructions to all of their devices, however.

All devices may only be used once, and only used on the night they are constructed.

Force Field (Bulletproof)
Sentry (Watcher)
Jammer (Roleblock)
Spybot (Tracker)
Stasis Cell (Jailkeeper)
Comm Device (Mason Recruiter) -- NOTE: This allows night communication, and does not guarantee any role information.
Teleporter (Hider)
AED (Reviver)

All night actions will be resolved in the following order:
Bulletproof
Hider
Roleblocker
Jailkeeper
Revival
Protection
Killing
Mason Recruit
Investigation
Watcher
Tracker

TOWN WIN CONDITION:
You win when the cheaters have been dealt with, and at least one town player remains alive.

SCUM WIN CONDITION:
You win when there are no town remaining, or nothing can prevent this from happening.

As you all arrive to the competition grounds, you see that each of you is carrying their box in with them. You all choose respective work rooms, and then come out to find out which of you are ruining the competition.

In the middle of the room, you find what appears to be a fairly large device, and you must decide who will unveil it and test it out.

Day one begins now! With 12 alive, 7 will do it.

After much deliberation, and several inventors making several strange, and not so strange, theories, you decide that Mastin will test out your device in the middle. As you unveil the creation, you find that it just so happens to be a trebuchet, large enough to launch a human at least 500 meters! Mastin, disappointed in this, tries to escape his fate, but finds himself tied up by the rope used to veil his fate. Upon being loaded, the device seems to autonomously start, and Mastin is given the chance to experience flight... until gravity kicks in.

Upon this development, you find that Mastin had absolutely nothing suspicious.

Mastin, Town, has been lynched.

Upon having some time alone, everyone feels slightly refreshed, and ready to find who these cheaters are.

Unfortunately, you also find two of your comrades lying in the middle of the floor, tazer burns on their backs.

After seeing these tragedies, the nine remaining decide to push even harder to get these cheaters out of here. After all, next time it could be you.

Also, you notice the trebuchet has vanished, and a new device has been placed in the middle of the room. Again, it has a veil over it.

After a long day of silence, most of the remaining players look to the guy wearing a lobster suit. We're not really sure why he's wearing a lobster suit, but apparently it seems to influence his creativity. Come to think of it, maybe it's just a distraction to keep us from finding these cheaters! Let's get rid of him anyway!

Thus, you unveil the curtain and reveal... a chair. A fairly comfortable looking chair, in fact. He sits down in it, and seems to be okay. After a while, however, the bottom of the chair breaks under the weight of his suit, and the chair collapses in on itself, spontaneously combusting in front of the crowd.

Upon a long period of silence, MonkeyMan finally decides to start speaking out. With the heated argument between himself and Amished, they decide that clearly Monkey had gone ape on them.

After unveiling what looked like an ordinary projector, turning it on seemed to prove something completely surreal. It was a good thing that you decided to put MonkeyMan in front of it, because it turns out that you had a portable black hole generator in front of you! As he traversed dimensions, you found his dropped communicator. Almost as quickly as you could find it, you see it destroyed by remote explosives.

After a fairly quick period in the rooms, you all find yourselves in the middle again. You also, again, find yourselves with seven. Although, you are surprised to see Tarhalindur around and moving, as well as the corpse of Amished, who is clearly laid out in the middle of the room.

After the amazement wears off of having someone who you thought was dead pop back to life, you decide that clearly Tarhalindur must have the right idea. Thus, with very little other mention, Gorrad was selected for the device testing. It turns out that this selection was designed to be a weapons test for the military. With the greatest feeling of vengeance, Tar grabs the weapon and fires it at Gorrad. With a large burst of air, Gorrad is knocked into the air a good 500 yards. When he lands, the small crater that he makes proves that he had clearly died. Again, you see a small explosion near his corpse, most likely his comm device with his partners in crime.

In a seemingly fast fashion once again, the lot of you decides who should be the guinea pig. Suddenly, Beyond_Birthday comes up in someone's mind. Then another begins to cast suspicion. Soon enough, the veil is removed, and you find a freeze ray. And as soon as it fires, Beyond_Birthday finds himself stopped in the reality that is time.

After another quick session together, you find that you had not yet recieved the device to test today. So, you quickly innovate a method with a box and some rope. You string Melikefood up, and watch as his communicator falls from his pocket, confirming that he was the last of the cheaters.

@Tar - I agree that I may have slightly overpowered the town, but in my setup review, I was told that I had overpowered the scum. Also, I do like the idea of the additional boxes, and may indeed put them into use if/when I can run this as a large. I would also add more boxes, as I would not want to have to add additional boxes due to the game dragging on too long. I figured 7 would be sufficient for this game, and I seem to have been correct. :D

As for who got what box, I took first pick in time recieved. Although this step was technically not needed, I felt like it gave the players a chance to actually "choose" their role. The colors of the boxes were statistically irrelevant, as I made sure that the box colors were randomized for town/scum and what powers they contained for the individual. Also, nobody likes brown apparently.

@Those who didn't open their guaranteed box N1: While you didn't know that you'd have two fully functional boxes, why would you not pick the one that you know would work?

@Melikefood: Although you didn't know their boxes, if the town believed you about SOG, you may have had the chance to make the win. It was a shot in the dark, but I could have seen it working quite well.
