disclaimer- As a noob I know my role and will probably remain quiet a lot and only speak when I have something worth contributing to say, or a question to ask. OK?

So the werewolves have gotten our protector and our cop and we've lynched a townie as well. 19 left alive and all of the mafia are among them. All we have so far is some overreaction and speculation. This could be a silly question, but can each of the voters state exactly why they are voting for the person they are voting for? The votees don't have to defend themselves at this point, I just want to see everyone's reasoning.

In what little experience I have, when a mafia is targeted, they seem to immediately go into some long spiel about why player X who is never on to defend themself is scummy. Does esme fit this profile? Yes. Am I happy that we seem ready to lynch a claimed cop? NO! We need to look at others and try to get some info before we kill off ever power role we have. Beyond esme, is there anyone else people would like some answers from? The only other mafia profile I have is that mafia who are not being targeted tend to flail about in all directions and generally cause nothing but chaos, and mafia who have managed to pass themselves off as townies target middle-to-good players with questionable voting. My current thoughts on mafia are that esme has a fair to good chance of being mafia, milkman has a fair to good chance of being mafia, and Locus has a fair to low chance of being mafia. That's all I've got for now. Only because I want to hear what he has to say,

Mafia do indeed post in spurts, so do people who work 40 hours a week and take summer classes

I don't know anyone on this board yet, so I have no idea what anyone normally play like. Until I start picking up your habits, I can only go with the flow and make the days lat as long as possible so I can learn them.

Or, we have 2 mafias (highly unlikely I think with a game under 30).

@whoever is FOS-ing me I am lurking because I have absolutely nothing to contribute at this time. I don't know any of you so I can't make any judgements about your playing styles, and I have no real game info beyond knowing that lots of townies are dead. What would you like me to post?

If I had to make a judgement call, I would say nonchalance looks scummy right now, but that just a gut hunch with absolutely no grounds.

If someone would actually state their reasons in black and white for voting, maybe I would vote, but I hate voting for the sake of voting. You inevitably end up voting for a townie, and a scum points it out later and gets you lynched.

Wasn't nonchalance on the chopping block at some point in the last 2 days? I don't think he ever got close enough to lynch for it to be much good, but I'll take a look later and see what I can see.

well, I guess he has a point there. It would be worth it to keep Pooky around to do some sanity testing. The good news for us is that the werewolves can't kill him directly so as long as the lover stays hidden we don't have to waste any doc protection we might have.

I KNEW that Pooky was my lover. I didn't know that he was a wolf. There was no part of my PM that said I would die a day later, I die at dawn, I thought.

I would agree with that statement if Pooky had been under pressure of ANY kind when he came forward, but he wasn't. This clearly helps the town more than the mafia as we have given you a way to test the cop. If this was a mafia gambit, I would have claimed that one of us was human and the other was a wolf and make the town use up 2 investigations to get us both, or at least leave a way out.

@ STD- a mafia partner who pretty much had to be dragged into the gambit?? If it was a mafia ploy, I would have hung Pooky out to dry and advanced myself as a confirmed townie when he died and was revealed as a wolf.

If this was a mafia gambit, yes, the ideal play by me would be to claim to know nothing about a lover and let you lynch him. This would give me the perfect alibi (as close to counter claiming someone as you can get in this game).

I was still hesitant to confess to being Pooky's lover as he claimed to be a wolf. Technically, I'm dead no matter what I do, so I might as well tell the truth and let everyone know that we are lovers.

Aside from that, i am a vanilla townie, so if I am the lynch today or tomorrow, so be it (provided you really think Pooky is mafia). If not, at least make the mafia waste a night kill to get rid of us.

Actually, yeah, I was trying to distance myself. I have never played this part before and it wasn't like I can talk to Pooky at night and try to figure anything out, so I figured my best bet was to act surprised and hope no-one ever came to the conlusion that we were together. This way, I could watch a band-wagon happen on either of us and come forward to claim before the lynch happened. Pooky sort of shot that idea in the head though.

speaking as the condemned here, doesn't it seem a bit weird that nanook has desided to not only vote for Pooky, but is getting out to push the bandwagon instead of letting people make their own decisions. Personally, if the town doesn't kill Pooky, then the mafia kills me to kill Pooky. I end up dead regardless. I just think that the town should let the mafia waste a kill before you do their dirty work for them. If Pooky was mafia, there would have been NO NEED for a gambit, let alone one that is admittedly retarded. When Pooky came forward, he was not under any duress to do so, and was in NO danger of being investigated that night.

The question is this... would a mafia commit suicide just to take a vanilla townie (me) with them? No. Would a mafia give as many shoves as possible to the bandwagonning of 2 townies to give them a 3 for none? You betcha.

From what Pooky has said, he is a werewolf who is town-aligned. Due to the fact that he IS a werewolf, he should still read mafia to a cop. In other words he turned his back on the mafia, but still carries their past/taint/etc. He claimed to have immunity to wolve's night kills, but can still be vigged or lynched. The only way the the wolves could kill him is to kill me and cause him to commit suicide.

@ Nanook- he NEVER said he wasn't a werewolf! READ the thread. He is a town-allied werewolf. He already stated this right after his inital claim to being a werewolf. The proof that he is town is that mafia don't normally take unnecessary risks as they have way less players to lose. The fact that Pooky came out AS A WEREWOLF is a good case for him being townie. The fact that he did so to test the cop's naivete is a BETTER case for him being townie. If everyone thought that Dranko was naive (which we did) WHY would the mafia do anything to stop that belief??? Would it not suit their ends to let everyone think he was just a normal cop and clear some of them?? Basically, you are voting Pooky with no logic backing your vote. That is why I am voting you. Hopefully others will realize this and start looking at the people (you included) who were pushing the Pooky bandwagon for all it was worth AGAINST logic.

I supported a Peacebringer lynch for days, and stayed on it mostly out of respect for the fallen MoS. Everyone else has been jumping wagons and going after lurkers, I am one of the few who actually came out and tried to reason someone to being scum. Feel free to lynch me, because that'll be four mistakes in a row. Look at the MoS and the Coron bandwagons if you want your scum guys, how about the bandwagons that took all of A DAY to complete, huh? Why isn't ANYONE considering those?
