Scum don't sleep as they have to kill peeps at night. Nice OMGUS there, IC-san.

Oh, just realized tubby also voted for Meji. Shouldn't put someone on L-3 in the RVS.

... Then again, I'm keeping my vote because of the OMGUS.

So far, I have to say yernab continues to strike me as suspicious. He posts a long post about what he would do as scum but does the exact opposite, perhaps in hopes that it would throw suspicion off himself. After all, if someone were scum, he would be trying hard to do what his townie self would do. Your scum self and town self should have some sort of difference, but in yernab's case he showed them to be complete opposites, which strikes me as trying too hard to look town.

Then when attack, he got on the defensive, started using the "=P" smiley and went a bit omgus. Also, he's withholding his vote - because he's trying to see who he should vote for so as to not seem as suspicious?

I'm struggling between whether that's a newb town tell or a newb scum tell.

Doing a reread soon, then comparing the behaviours of everyone.

RVS looks over, then.

@Meji: Smileys to me often appear to be some form of appeared friendliness. The fact that he only put those smileys after being attacked seemed to be "I'll be friendly so you'll stop voting for me please".

Chill, yernab. Why so desperate? You aren't the one under the most suspicion here, yet you are getting so desperately defensive. Are you trying to hide something?

The smilies aren't exactly a tell, but it just gives me some sort of feeling. But that's not the main reason I'm voting for you. In your post, you tried to shift everyone's attention to how ridiculous my "smiley" argument is (even though it was just a one-liner in my post in the previous page), which also means you're trying to shift everyone's attention
away
from my main points.

@crazypianist: We're not arguing about smileys. I just put it in my argument as a passing remark, but yernab's the one making a big deal out of it. That's why I believe he's scum trying to draw attention away from my main points and concentrating on the smiley point.

I will be keeping an eye on tubby until he shows us what his awesome 'strategy' is. Had he been a newbie I would've accused him of distancing without a second thought, but being a player who's been here for more than a year, I doubt he would be so careless as scum. Then again, it's WIFOM...

@WoS: I disagree. In fact, scum get defensive more commonly due to the fact that scum are more afraid of getting lynched than town. However, now that I've posted this...

And does that mean it's better for me to take my own notes and create my own scumlists but not share them just yet, since there are mafia in the mix? I guess so.

@David: Having never played as scum before, I can't say for sure which one I prefer. However, this current game is already very fun and challenging for me as town. I'm not too sure if scum would be more fun.

I'm still sticking to yernab until I manage to get a scummier reaction from someone else. Also, tubby - you said something about your method being able to catch scum most of the time, but what method? Being an SE, you aren't contributing much other than "Hurry up post more! Hurry up post more!" After rereading, what tells were you able to pick up? At least say some stuff, it'll be helpful with the discussion.

Him being an SE, I believe we can find some meta from manho, so I'm going to check to see how he used to behave in games where he's scum or he's town.

Anyway, yernab - At that point of the game, Tubby was certainly under the most suspicion. And it's not like I'm very, very sure that you're scum or you're close to being lynched. I believe that scum would be more afraid of being lynched than town, since after all, there are only 2 of them and if one dies, it will be hard for them to win. Town, however, with our at least 3 times larger population, we will still have a chance.

Also, if you think I'm town, then there's no need to make personal attacks like that.

Also, you didn't say anything about why you're trying to shift everyone's attention to my smiley comment even though it was just a one-liner, and thus shifting their attention away from my main points. This was the most important thing in my post in Page 4, and yet you regarded it, yet again trying to make a fool out of me by laughing at the whole smiley thing.

Apologies. Trying to catch up now, though it looks hard. ._.

Meh, this'll take a while...

So far from what I've seen, however, yernab still looks suspicious in my eyes, but from the current voting pattern, he doesn't seem to be very much suspected by the others. I guess I'll have to do a reread to see why Wrath is so targetted at the current moment.

I can't believe I just noticed this - on Page 4, Meji said something about "it's fine for yernab to be defensive even if he's a townie, but the only thing he's saying is 'smilies are not an argument! I am not scum!', and it doesn't help, he must also show who he thinks is scum". And immediately, on page 5, yernab copies exactly what Meji says town should do, including voting one of the popular choices Manho, and still trying to distract everyone to the smiley whateverthing.

Yernab's new replacement, do you have anything to say?

Hmm, I thought I read somewhere that lurking's not necessarily a scumtell, but anyway. I've never actually focused much on him, and the fact that he went all "ULTIMATE CONFIRMAGEEEE!!!" in the beginning seems to be drawing attention to himself, so it doesn't make sense why he's suddenly trying to distract the attention away from himself now. It's strange.

Tubby, even if the deadline's coming up there's still time to think properly about who we should vote for! You say that you think yernab's the most suspicious, as do I, but you voted for Wrath even though you didn't suspect him at all. He'll be lynched by deadline anyway, with his number of votes, so why rush it when there's no absolutely concrete evidence?

Is this scummy or VI?

Hammering him so quickly just causes us unable to gather more information. Even if Wrath really is scum, he could've let slip some info in his desperation at L-1. Now that chance is gone. And if he's town, we could've managed to spend that little time before deadline to see that he really is town. Personally, I don't think he's scum (my vote's stuck on yernab for a reason), but we shall soon see.

Sorry for not being here for a while. Almost forgot about this game as I'm playing another elsewhere.

So, finally yernab/bfl is under suspicion? As you can see in some of my previous posts, I've already brought a case on yernab, but nobody exactly bothered because of the huge reads on Wrath. Thus, I'm still continuing yesterday's tunnelvisioning.

Wait - Alright, it appears that either we have a doctor who managed to protect the one who was targeted by the mafia, or the mafia got lazy. Even then, I think the doctor will probably protect someone who appears most townish, or just most likely to be targeted by the mafia (Like, for example, I highly doubt he/she will protect someone like Tubby, for instance)

@bfl: "no night kill, eh? looks like we have a doc, and they got lucky. " Sounds more like you're upset the night kill got blocked than anything else.

Thanks for the list, manho.

And also, for perhaps the 3rd/4th time - I would like to point out that yernab had been, over and over again, dodging most of my important points and only concentrating on the "smiley" crap (which at first I meant that he's just trying to buddy up with townspeople), and making it seem as if the whole "smiley" thing was my only argument. It's pretty scummy to me, and bjl's "I dunno, newb town mistake?" avoiding of question makes it all the more scummy.

So just like yesterday, I'm still sticking on yernab/bjl. They seem more scummy than anything now.

What makes you so sure that BJL will not flip scum? Do you have more information than we do?

I can't be completely sure that bjl is scum, but he's definitely the scummiest. But here you are saying that he definitely will not be scum, without even stating any reason to prove otherwise. What makes you think he isn't scum? What points do you have in his defense?

Then again, I don't really think scum would be so protective of their scumbuddy as they would at least try some form of distancing, but that's WIFOM, and I might be wrong.

If you don't think bjl is scum, at least say something as to why you don't think he's scum. It's possible that you're not scum and instead have a power role, but for the time being, IGMEOY, Cookie.

I still don't think I have much of a read yet on Cookie, but bjl and his current lurkiness + yernab's scummy posts earlier on makes me still think he's scum. And I don't know what's Chainsaw Defense, either. Might've heard of it once, though.

As Meji said - BJL has done absolutely nothing to make him seem townish, thus the only way for Cookie to know that he's town is either that he's mafia, a cop who got an innocent on bjl the night before, or a doctor who tried to protect bjl and succeeded.

However, since Cookie roleclaimed Townie... That eliminates the last two possibilities.

FoS: Cookie

My vote is still on bjl. Unless he, or his new replacement, convinces me otherwise, which he has failed to do so for 2 days.

Yernab and BJL were both scummy, but in different ways. But still scummy. So I'm not taking my vote off him. But it's true that I still kind of doubt Cookie is his scumpartner - why would he stick out so much in protection of his scumbuddy? What if we lynch BJL, he flips scum and Cookie is next? It seems strange.

Then again, now Cookie seems to be going "ok, let's lynch BJL". Looks like he's now considering a bussing tactic instead. Thus, it seems very strange.

He claimed townie, most likely accidental, by saying "because my role pm says townie". If he had a power role, he could've said town instead. At first, I was convinced that he had a power role due to his insistence that BJL is town, but now I'm thinking otherwise.

Could he be mafia pretending to be a cop so that people will be reluctant to lynch him?

^ That's a skill I've heard that only mafia can do. Do you plead guilty?

@Meji: Most of the people in this game aren't first-time players, so I guess that won't be a problem.

Which means we're going to wait?

What a bother for a first game.

I hate placing such an undue importance on Metas. It really is a useless tactic. Scum can play elements of their town meta, towns can play no meta at all, and scum can even play their town meta completely perfectly. You can't ignore the huge number of scummy posts made by Tubby just because "he plays like that". He's just as likely to be scum as he is town. I still have more to say about Yernab and bjl's behaviors, and cookie's twilight talk is hardly scummy at all (from first glance. I will have to look more into it, as said).
But that's how VIs get lynched and putting the town at a huge disadvantage. I am not very convinced of tubby's innocence due to how he lacks his own personal opinion, but bjl is the scummier one. I am still waiting for his response and I'll not be looking at anyone else so far. In case scum slips away.

I will be looking back at crazypianist's previous posts to see if Kyiv and him have any sort of similarity in terms of their gameplay.

I need to clear something up, Kyiv.

Firstly, I did vote for yernab as a random vote because he was lurking in-thread yet not posting at all. But, that's not the reason I suspect him. I just voted for him urging him to post, and he did - and his post was scummy. Thus, I didn't remove my vote. I Did not vote for him just because of his 2-day lurking. Keep that in mind.

This game is very messy, thus I did not want to quote like mad. But I will quote every single one of the posts I feel scummy and post it here later on if I have time before going to Malaysia. If not, I can only post by 8th November.

I can see why the strong suspicion on Tubby now, but I can be quite sure that he's not scum. His behaviour and his tunneling just certainly isn't all there. Sure, tunneling isn't very good for the town, but it is not a scummy action. If he's scum, and he's tunneling on a town Cookie, suspicion will immediately fall on him when Cookie flips town. ScumTubby won't want to risk that. Also, it is too huge a form of distancing and too risky for scum if it turns out to be ScumTubby trying to bus ScumCookie. It's true that his yesterday votehopping was suspicious, but I still don't think that scum, unless extremely stupid, will happily hammer random people like this. He probably isn't taking this game seriously as a townie, seeing as how many townie games he have accomplished. He probably just isn't interested in this game and thus is acting uncautious.

Mod: Did you note my V/LA?

Then I can't take your word; you're playing a very poor townie right now. You are constantly putting your explanations off for the next day, refusing to help townies see your way, and you have still done nothing to defend yourself. With that said:
Then if you think he's townie, why attack him so? A poorly played townie is still a townie. We can't lynch someone for being a VI.
