Mini 931: Supreme Court Mafia (Game Over post 682)

Alright! Welcome to the game. This should be pretty interesting. Let's get started with a few questions:

1) How much experience do you have playing Mafia?
2) How would you describe your playstyle?
3) What do you value the most in making decisions in Mafia?

I will answer once answers have been collected from all other players.

I also choose not to randomly vote.

1. little. I have watched one game, died in one large normal, died in one mini normal and am in day one in a large normal (that you are modding ) I was scum in both games I died in, if that info is relevant.

2. hmm. I haven't really developed one yet to be honest. I like to observe, over a super aggressive play style. However, once I find someone suspicious, I become aggressive towards them.

3. I think, in analyzing a post: would mafia or town be more likely to do this.

4. D, all of the above.

5. I prefer playing as scum. The fun part is trying to fool the other people, I find it more enjoyable than trying to not be fooled.

7. as town, I am able to look at the big picture and figure out a good course of action. as mafia, I am able to figure out a way to not be suspicious. I suck at knowing whom to nightkill though

Jack's copying and pasting isn't suspicious. It's actually quite clever IMO.

Something else I am going to do this game, just a heads up: I will not be explaining any of my votes. The person needs to figure out what is making them suspicious and provide a defense. If I tell them what is suspicious about them then their defense can be created easier.

To be honest, I kinda just saw this as a typo considering Jack copying answers was a topic of discussion for a short period around the time of that post.

that isn't my main problem. My problem now is that he claims to have EBWOPed that he made a typo. but he never did.

I can produce

a scummy reason for Jack's actions. First, he is deliberately being confusing. Even if he is town, he would have had no other reason to bring up the matter in the first place. He is attempting to derail the game by his cryptic responses as well. Also, he is, I think, trying to benefit from early suspicion being cleared, which often means that the player will be looked at with less suspicion later in the game. If he establishes an extremely scummy style of play now, in the late game, if he plays in a more pro-town fashion, he will look much less like scum, regardless of his actual alignment. Thus, in a sense, it can be something of a protectionist move.

So you came up with this one just now. You're making the logic fit the conclusion, then. Let's say I started (for some reason) with the conclusion that you were scum. In that light, your starting the game with the questions would be an attempt to make yourself look pro town and to control discussion early. You didn't notice my answers were copy pasted because you were scum faking suspicion on Darox. Now you think I know something about the setup that you don't, and as scum you want to know what it is, so you threaten to lynch me unless I spill the beans.

If you are town surely you can see how far astray starting with a conclusion and then finding a scum motive for someones behavior can take you.

That strategy works if only YOUR survival is important... but if you want a TOWN win, then we need to know about you. We need info.

light to moderate scum read. Scum suspicions and town suspicions are both not backed up at all, possible buddying, jumps on bud wagon with no reasoning. A few posts about the posing habits of others, possibly trying to look town with little effort.

I veto during the day, so after I vetoed Bub it doesn't matter who he votes for, it just doesn't count. It didn't end up doing anything, though.

With only two town roles, a "sanity not guaranteed cop" and a veto holder, it's quite possible there are only 2 scum.

I don't like this post. I could see scum doing this to try to convince town that it is not mylo (which is what it would be if there are 3 scum), to attempt to make a mislynch easier.

The reason I was suspicious of DLA and his jack is scum suspicion is because all DLA did was scream

AND made no effort to make any substancial case on Jack. I still feel Jack is possible scum. But the way DLA went about his suspicions were off to me.

Also yea, I missed that about the confirmed cop thing but I still dont think it is confirmed he had an innocent on Jack.. Jack himself even admits that.

So you felt at the time that DLA was bussing? I don't think anyone would think scum would bus like that. Didyour opinion on Jack change when DLA flipped town? And Jack IS basically cop-confirmed town, there were 2 people that Yosarian described as obv-town, one of them for each night he could have made an investigation, and one flipped town.

this game was so scum sided, it was nearly impossible for us to lose.

This game also has reinforced my meta of acting town as scum and scum as town.

2 scum power roles is too much. 3 for town and 1 for scum would be even.

And the Veto-holder is kind of a useless role. It would almost never actually be needed, and when it would be, it would show the likely alignment of the veto-holder and the would-be-lynchee
