@Kitten: Uh, you never asked me any questions? But anyway I'll answer since you asked me now. It's not about being serious too soon, it's about being too serious about people that are still joking around. I think there is a difference in the way people play at the start that makes it much harder to get a serious read so voting right off the bat is not a good idea.
@xvart: Good luck trying to figure out who is joking on the internet. I hope you aren't one of those crazy vote happy people or this will be one of those games

1. From my own experience it doesn't work often(or ever for me). But of course that could be because I haven't played many games.UncertainKitten wrote:@JJ: Elaborate: Why is active lurking an unreliable scumtell?
2. There are probably more active lurkers than you are aware of since you are able to block your name from appearing who is online. If I wanted to active lurk easily I could have just said I was away and it would have been really easy.
3. Example from my previous game: RBT, he active lurked while we were telling him to claim and he was making it pretty obvious that he was lurking.
4. You can avoid it pretty easily after you learn that people are aware of it.
Is this a rhetorical question because I already know what you are going to say either way. The part where I voted for xvart was a start where I actually thought about the game. Of course I probably didn't post all I wanted to say at the time but I'm not so suspicious of him anymore. But by your standards I guess I don't have any content.UncertainKitten wrote:Also, as a bonus could you link me to what you consider content produced by you?-

Why? Because people do it in every game. Vezo is the most obvious one in this game.UncertainKitten wrote:@JJ: Why do you assume I'm asking for the sake of implicating you? I actually am trying to get into your head and see whatyouconsider content. I'll assess more from there.
Now I have to leave once again. Won't be back home for at least 5 hours.-

When I was doing a reread a few days ago he was the only one that really caught my attention. Specifically the first thing I noticed were his first two posts. In post #0 he says that pieman deserves to die because of the way he talks and then in post #1 he seems to agree with xvart about him having a post restriction and yet he continues to vote for pieman. Later in post #4 he changes his vote to me and says my ideas are dangerous even though pieman was arguing for it more. I would have thought that would have made him keep his vote on pieman. Notice that my point here is not to distance myself from those ideas but to point out the inconsistencies of screl.-

I've got plenty to counter your arguments however I don't think it would be a good use of my time if it can be avoided because it always opens up long debates. Most of the time I hate long posts because it's really hard to get all of my ideas into text and it becomes a chore. Also, some of your posts are hard for me to understand.-

On a list of most useful people xvart would probably be near the top while piraka being dead last. It's a pretty safe assumption if you consider the alternative of 2 mafia kills a day.diginova wrote:How would you know that piraka was the vig kill and not xvart? Maybe you sent in the kill...
I almost think this isn't even worth an answer. A stupid vote deserves a stupid vote. Besides, screl was my 1st choice at the end of day 1.diginova wrote:EBWOP: Also, JJ, why did you OMGUS vote Day 2? There's information out, it just makes you look very scummy.-

It's sad that twomz would vote me knowing that he will probably die tomorrow. Anyway I was gone the entire today but its not like I'm really enthusiastic about posting anyway probably due to me being a vanilla.
Yes I am willing to take that risk. You have provided some decent questions but there is still something very weird to me about your posts. But I'm still voting you mostly by chance because I don't see any good leads and I think a semi-random(because of my hunch) guess will catch scum more likely than speculation. Yeah I may be shooting myself in the foot by saying this stuff but I probably wouldn't post anything otherwise. Also scum often turn out to be the person you suspect least.UK wrote:So, despite the fact I've given you a meta link of SC using non sane cops, you'll just assume that Twomz is sane?
Just a feeling. UK asks a lot a pointless questions in my opinion which kinda makes me feel that she is posting for the sake of posting but hey nothing is for certain and people play different ways, I know I do.pieman wrote:@JJ besidez teh cop theory, Y iz UK a maf? Probably not as newb as you think. From what I have noticed people tend to underestimate often and confuse laziness with newbieness though I am not saying that I'm not mostly a newb.
1. "@jelly: You are acting like using people acting stupid is a bad basis for voting. Why?"PieMan wrote:@JJ examplez plox
2. "How is leading people inherently anti town? People can think for themselves. Is he leading us in a way that benefits scum?"
3. "So, out of curiosity, what hits scum more often than town early game?"
4. "I'd rather actually discern if you are scum or not, and I believe you showing me what you believe to be content will help in that endeavor."
5. "@Pieman: What's wrong with being pushy? How does that assist scum?"
6. Her post #76 involves a lot of unnecessary anger and automatic assumption that I am going for an easy mislynch.
7. Her post #80 is overly paranoid if it was serious.
Unnecessary questions and some generally suspicious posts. Yeah I am going to sleep now.-

I already admitted to being lazy. In a way this situation is pretty similar to a gambler's fallacy except in this case there are people trying to get you to pick the wrong choice which makes it more likely that we pick the wrong choice. It's not quite the same thing and I wouldn't be voting the way I am if it was. The last part is pure bull crap assumption on your part. Do you really think I am scum or are you just voting me because you think I am anti-town?UncertainKitten wrote:@JJ: So, in other words, you are indulging in laziness, a gambler's fallacy, and overall trying to push a mislynch. I think we've made the right choice in voting you dead.
The question you ask seem all like rhetorical questions that don't really provide anything useful. Any idiot can just come up content. I see you asking a lot of questions but I don't see much analyzing. Also pretty much anything can be rationalized as being town or scum.UncertainKitten wrote:@JJ: Questions that might seem pointless to you. They actually serve a distinct purpose. One is getting people to act in a pro town way since, I'll admit it, we seem to be in a somewhat inexperienced crowd that's done a few silly, but not necessarily scummy things. And two is discerning how someone plays and how it makes sense as town or scum.
No, it's because your first assumption is that I am trying to defend whoever that person was. Thats not something something I would consider to be a first response in a regular conversation which is how I intended it to be.UncertainKitten wrote:@JJ: Why is post 80 "overly paranoid". Is it because I'm correctly calling you out on something? I find it quite interesting how you seek to discredit the tell rather than counter it.
Are you saying I made a vote that I could easily get away with? I think a vote somewhere in the middle would have been a much better choice if I wanted to avoid attention besides I am always the center of attention in every game. I guess you are just assuming I'm a total newb.UncertainKitten wrote:Post 76, while a little hostile, is still my opinion of everyone who jumped on my wagon. Wagon analysis is the most concrete info you get in this game. Your vote was scummy. DEAL WITH IT. You do realize that a cop coming out with a guilty on a townie is effectively a FREE MISLYNCH for scum, right? And that scum would VERY eagerly push that mislynch, and then hide in the crowd when the flip happens. What ELSE am I supposed to assume from the most suspicious vote on the wagon.
I don't like answering these pointless questions because none of them have any real answers and do you think I actually know? I don't think you could find a good objective answer.UncertainKitten wrote: So, anyway, why do you take issue with me asking people to think about what scum would do, as opposed to derping up a vote for someone for terrible reasons? Are you saying people shouldn't question reasoning? Are you saying that we shouldn't vote based on how an action helps scum? Are you saying we should just vote based on...what? What are we supposed to vote on? Your reasoning all game has been weak, and in fact the kind of reasoning I expect from mafia, since it has that feel of looking good on paper, until it is questioned.
This is so lol worthy. Sorry but your reasoning is nothing special. I've been in almost the exact same situation in my first few game where people were just assuming I am newb scum however none of them were scum if I remember correctly. I actually kind of want to unvote you now because of that but that has been poorly received by people who thought I was a newb. Aw what the hell I'm not particularly against being lynched anyway .UncertainKitten wrote: JJ's trying to save himself. He has nothing.

@UK: I was willing to vote you because of the cop results but I changed my mind because now I think you are more likely town. I consider some forms of paranoia and anger to be town tells.
@screl: I'm not against being lynched but I'm also not going to kill myself. I killed myself once instead of hammering a guy I thought was town but I see no good reason to suicide just because you asked.

Posts 530 seemed like it was really forced and unnecessarily pessimistic. "Now we have no clue of sanity." That part especially made you stick out. I was expecting his role to be fully revealed upon death and what you said made it seem like quite a stretch to try to lead us in the wrong direction.diginova wrote:JJ, what was it that caused you to mark me as scum?
Post 541 generic answer that would probably be really unlikely.
