Vote: Furcolow

Am I scum?

Sebguer: if you've read the books, watch out for my mini-theme coming up! I'm still working on it but I think it'll be really good for anyone familiar with the series.

Ani is Ani. Furcolow is bizarre and spouting a lot of nonsense, but I don't think he's scum.

What fence? I say Beefster's come along, said what basically amounts to nothing about Furcolow and Friend and then thrown out some pointless battery-powered deadline speculation, when it's explained in the first post. And now here he goes again with post restrictions. He says that he thinks at least one of Furcolow and Friend are scum, but votes for me, and what is 'at least I've tried' supposed to mean? Do scum not try? So no, I'm not voting for the sake of voting, I'm voting because I think Beefster's scum.

Zwet: do you mean Plum, or are you trying to lynch the mod?

3 scummy:
Beefster/Me=Weird: basically because Beefster did nothing but setup speculation and OMGUS vote me. Me=Weird is taking the easy route of making a case on Vezo, who in my experience is worthy of lynching for every post he makes and it has nothing to do with his alignment.
Pacman: the way he keeps declaring that he hates general MS tendencies, like meta and LaL, then repeatedly calls people scummy for AtE, pings my scumdar. I also dislike his eagerness to hammer Wraith in the light of his reaction to the fakehammer.
Mothrax: I think his Wraith vote is weak, as he basically offers no reasons of his own other than 'he's doing something I think I do as scum'. The violent reaction to his wagon seems a little bit over-the-top to me too.

Town: Zwet.

Totally forgot to do this last time.

Vote: Me=Weird

Pacman: I think the point is you're making an effort to do nothing suspicious. This is kind of linked to the fact that you spend a lot of the time going after fairly obvious targets like Furcolow and Socio for things like not posting reasons for votes and wagon-hopping. In other words, very basic reasons with little analysis behind them and little risk of getting called out for saying something contentious. That's my interpretation, at least.

Plum: leaning town.

Iecy: explain how my 'crap' reasons for voting Beefster are worse than you pledging to be CKD's slave and voting Vezo.

It does, however, indicate a desire on your part to absolve yourself of responsibility for your actions.

Do you think your own scumtells are applicable to everyone else?

Vezo's attempt to make Furc look bad is enough for me to:

Vote: vezokpiraka

The vote-hopping is null, as far as I'm concerned, but as the game's gone on the style seems more aggressive and a little more calculating than I've seen from vezo-town, to be honest.

Wary of a massclaim suggestion. Last time I was in a game that had a massclaim proposed for vague setup-discerning reasons, the advocate was scum (see Kinetic, A Game of Thrones Mafia).

Agar: yes. It's the suggestion that we might gain something but we're not going to be told what that something is or quite how it'll work, we just have to massclaim and trust that it'll work out.

I really don't get why everyone assumes the glow and the smoke are automatically indicating 'good' and 'bad' posts. If our two hidden players are influencing that, how do we know that they're both pro-town?

Friend: isn't it also broken if it's townie players who the scum can't lynch or target?

Hey Furc, what information would you get from a Locke lynch?

My defence of what, CKD? I was just asking Furc what information he'd get from my lynch. That wasn't a defence. I must have missed the part of the wagon where there were any questions for me or attacks made against me, other than Plum saying I haven't contributed much, which is fair.

Should I claim, or not? You guys seem to be quite up for repeatedly forcing claims but apart from M=W and Pacman, who aren't even on the wagon, there seems to be very little effort from anyone to actually address my play and I'm not claiming unnecessarily.

CKD: I was asking Furc because in his previous vote justification he explained what information he thought we would gain from a M=W lynch. This time it was just that he'd basically suspected me all game. I wanted to see if he was voting me just because it was the trend or if he actually had any strong personal desire to vote for me. His reactions thus far indicate he was mostly just going along with the wagon, but then most people on my wagon seem to have jumped on it because Socrates has.

On Me=Weird's points:
-My vote for Beefster was made for perfectly valid reasons. People keep taking issue with it because I hadn't posted much at the time I made it, not because there was anything wrong with the reasons themselves (as far as I can see). It looked like he had to put some real effort into making that post and he actually had very little to say about the game, hence the asking about battery power and speculation on post restrictions to compensate for his lack of content. That's scummy. As town, I don't sit around thinking 'well, I think that's scummy but it could be argued I've done that myself, so I won't comment on it'. That's not my mindset. I personally don't think I was doing the same as Beefster anyway; I took a stance and made a vote, while he offered some vague suspicion and excuses for not contributing.
-I thought Pacman was shooting down a lot of points by saying he didn't like things like meta and LaL, then falling back on another fairly general scumtell, AtE. The vibe I got was that he was using them as easy reasons to score points off other people and discredit cases while he was using a general tell that requires very little genuine analysis or effort to apply. That's why it pinged my scumdar.
-I don't explain all my town reads. I don't think it's necessary.
-The smoke/light speculation and assuming those two players are both town-aligned is ridiculous, from my perspective. I disagree with Friend's logic.
-Yeah, Plum is right, I haven't said much. There are reasons for it but I'd rather just get on with the game than re-stating them. If you think my lack of contributions is scummy, fine.

I think that covers the main points.

Here's a theory: our two ?????s can indicate their approval or disapproval of any post with light or smoke. There is no set system to it, they just tell Vi which post they want the relevant effect to refer to and it happens in the next votecount. They may be doing this together, or they may be independent, with one on the side of the Righteous and one for the Demons. I don't see why it couldn't be the latter, which is why I took issue with Friend's assumption. It's possible that this may even be some kind of boost system, who knows.

That's it, isn't it? Idiots. Next time, think a little bit more about wagons that are built on absolutely no case.

Hey Vezo, look at rule 2 under 'Other'. Also, the signals wouldn't necessarily be meaningless if they were coming from different alignments. It's not like all the signals are the same. I don't think Vi's averse to throwing red herrings into games either.

I told you there was no reason one of the hidden players couldn't be scum. Take that, Friend :P

Well played scum, great distancing from Agar & Mothrax. I thought my lynch was pretty terrible but I guess I didn't help much by not being very active for much of the game.

Oh, and really cool setup, Vi. I really like the idea of the two higher powers controlling events and giving out the abilities at a cost. As always, the game was modded very efficiently too, particularly with the nightless aspect.
