I don't have much commentary other than to specifically praise DLG and Mute for two impressive performances (both players I would consider to be MVPs of their respective sides).
Mute, I never seen two successful Doctor protects in a row on MafiaScum. I'm sure it's happened before a few times, but I've never seen it. Even though the rough odds of that happening in this game were 1/64, which certainly isn't astronomically improbable or anything, your protections weren't just lucky guesses, I'd suspect. As Mastin spoke with me a little after you had been lynched noting how relived he was that you were taken out of the picture. Frankly, and I think even those who participated in your lynch will agree with this, you were too good at being a Doctor to be believable. I really can't blame them for feeling compelled to lynch you, although it's really hard to shake my own bias of being the Moderator and knowing that you
did
protect two nights in a row and you
were
the Doctor. If you retain that ability of scumhunting, then all you really need to work on is your ability to communicate yourself as a townie with these skills and you'll certainly be a force to be reckoned with.
DLG really took what I said to heart when I asked for serious replacements about 3 weeks ago. I'm grateful for it. I really hope you choose to stick around our website, DLG, because you'd be someone I'd be interested in playing with or watching again. I like the direction you went with Mastin's slot. I felt like I was really reading a townie at times when I would look over your posts. It goes without saying that that's a great skill to have in Mafia.
I feel a little bad in replacing both Mastin and Lateralus. Both of these players obviously were around, and, had the game been moving at a brisker pace during both time when I had decided to replace them, I may have been willing to let it slide some. Mastin especially probably could've stayed in the game had I replaced Kayi's slot before his. It would've been something to see DLG take on Mastin rather than take over Mastin. Oh well, maybe in Minimalist Mafia II...
In regards to everyone else, I don't know if there were any overly bad performances here. I guess the first lynch of Beefster remains a little strange to me, but, then again, the first lynch is the easiest one for the scum to influence. I completely understood taking out Mute, and Trendall's play was really kind of questionable throughout the second half of the game. For someone who caught as much flak as he did in the beginning of the game, I think he played it too risky (if his last couple of major moves were intentional, that is). I hope to see Jay, Neruz, and Ghostlin some more further down the road!
I know Mastin wants to say a few things. I'd also like to hear from Lateralus if he happens by (I guarantee you there would've been a big difference between how he unfolded his role slot vs Nacho's way). It would also be great to hear more from our winners, our losers, our replacements, any other spectators, and the kitchen sink.
Special thanks to the replacements who stuck around to the end, and good game everyone.
